I appreciate apps asking permission to send notifications or to access my location. There are few apps I use that I want to send me notifications.
I agree. I hate that on my Android Phone I download an app and suddenly it starts shitting on me with notifications and I have to disable them manually.
@@sociocriticalthat's absolutely not true (unless you're on a very old version or installing dodgy apps). You're asked to grant permissions as soon as you install an app. It's part of the opt-in instead of opt-out reasoning.
When it comes to notifications. Well there is a difference if you install a legit app that will notify you of important things (receiving a message etc) or a dodgy game that will send you a notification every 5 minutes with ads or asking you to go back to the game etc. Stay clear of those basically...
But I agree that in both iOS and Android, there should be a way to basically set what we want as default permissions and settings, and as soon as we download something, the app complies with our previous choice and it's up to us to grant more permission if needed. But that would also get clueless people angry because suddenly they wouldn't get notifications because they forgot to allow it... There's always people who will complain. :)
@@sociocritical Your phone is old, on Android 10 it's basically the same as in iOS.
@@skuyzy198 95% of Android users are on "old" versions of the OS.

Change my mind
Sure, but it should really remember my selection and then shut the hell up about it, instead of asking me, like, monthly, if I still want to let that same application keep accessing my location.

Adam Zey literally has never happened to me. I doubt it has actually happened to you and that you might be misremembering which apps have asked you. I switched from Android to Apple, honestly I find the experience much smoother and the app compatibility way better. With android, there is a slight pause in between actions and it was pretty annoying. There were also certain things within apps that wouldn't work on android but would work smoothly on iOS. If you want to use your phone for more than web browsing, listening to music, chatting and gaming though, it might be better to get Android. I don't see why an average user would, but if you want to use your phone as a computer or as a "professional" camera, then go for it.
Gaming is better on iPhone.
Apps run better on iOS.
3:42 Some ppl actually like privacy so this isnt really a negative feature
Remember the Windows Vista UAC disaster? Yeah. Prompting for permission is good. When moderated. This isnt really it. Even power users are complaining about it on MacOS Catalina.
It only prompts the very first time you launch an app after install, to ask you what access to allow and which not. That is not asked too much, that is what everyone should ask themselves anyway.
I love it on Android.
They Funneh thing is, You can set it so that it does the facial recognition for every app you open. Making it seamless. Guess he didnt know about that amazing feature.

@@villavan I'm saying for me personally the implementation of CarPlay on iOS 13 is a huge improvement over previous versions. Multiple apps available on the main screen, Siri works great for me in my area, and changing an app on the phone itself no longer changes what is on the car display. This allows your passenger to look up something online or change music without affecting the directions being shown.
carplay sounds cute when samsung has a car dock mode since liker 2011

Yes Keep is nice, but it very poorly integrates with Google Assistant and Google Home, their “reminders” and “notes” are buried inside the Google Home app and have no link to eachother whatsoever. I just can’t understand why Google does this bullshit, it isn’t that difficult to create a well integrated ecosystem of YOUR OWN apps across devices with YOUR OWN OS. Moreover, Keep can be praised by easily being accessible multi platform, while Apple Reminders only works on Apple, which makes using it useless for customers who only have for example an iPad and/or Mac. Because then they won’t get reminders on their phone and can’t set any on the go. But I wish Keep would make a more streamlined less cluttered UI, and allow for some basic text formatting (like B/U/I and 3 text sizes). It still looks like a gmail extension beta project. It isn’t that difficult to make it categorise. And no, hashtagging alone won’t cut it.
It’s a joke compared to the iPhone . It’s nowhere near as practical. And for reference I’m currently carrying the 11 pro max and the note 10 plus . It’s no compete when it comes to saving photos to notes .
@@davithdevries6774 Google Keep has its own app, you can also download it via Chrome as a standalone app. Agreed with bold/italic missing, it's why I moved away from it for keeping notes in lectures. Reminders integrate well though in it, but Google Assistant can't handle it which is annoying.
Google I/O 2018 they already promised proper integration, which they still haven't done, and now we're halfway to Google I/O 2020.
0:30 Did I just witness you trying to call your friend using the phone dialing screen? That’s what contacts is for bro
I think he was trying show an Android feature where you can start dialing their name with the numbers and it will show you suggested contacts
salazizzle Apple does do that though?
@@switchprocontrollersplatoo7240 you have to type the complete number on iOS before it shows you which contact you're calling. On Android you can dial the first few digits and the person will automatically be selected.

@@switchprocontrollersplatoo7240 well it doesn't on my phone. maybe we have different settings somewhere. plus like almost all of my contacts have the same area code so you're saying it suggests dozens of contacts all at once? lol

"Siri can't mute my notifications"
Uhhh, yes it can. Just say "Turn on Do Not Disturb".
MegaAlpakka you can make exceptions to do not disturb
The thing is the ok google assistant is smart it will understand what you mean despite what you say have to use specific wording all the time is pretty annoying, he’s just trying to make the point that Siri is lacking a lot of features that have been on androids for years

@@canweget250subswithoutavid4 you missed the point ... or have never used gpm
I don't think you've used gpm recently enough. I have used GPM for like 3 years straight with almost literally 0 issues ever. That information is irrelevant and just true anymore.

Have you noticed that the display of photos taken in a bright environment, with clear and vivid areas, was optimized just in these places? It’s quite amazing. I noticed this by editing an image in Photoshop on my Mac and then sending it back to my iPhone. The one I had edited and re-saved, without retouching it, without changing anything, was much less bright in the light areas, probably because the iPhone no longer recognizes his photo, he no longer has his data. The difference is huge. I also noticed that when opening an image on the iPhone, these light areas changed in a few seconds, became brighter, as if only the pixels under these areas rose in brightness. It's super smart! We can quickly realize this difference by sending the image by SMS or other. When this manipulation begins, when the image is reduced, we see that the processing is no longer active.
Activate without sim is possible since iOS 11 or so. Battery Stats also.
3:43 That's a GOOD thing about IOS 13, it's part of Apple letting users be more aware of where their private data and location are going
Fuck no, its annoying as fuck.
Its ok one time, but every 2 days I get this shit for the same app. Its my insurance app, it needs to have access to my location everytime I drive
Olivier Boily you can choose “always” or “allow once” , if u choose always u will never get that massage on the same app.
If u choose allow once you’ll get that every single time.
You might think thats annoying but these days privacy is important for most of us.
True. A lot of people don’t realise they can stop getting messages by looking at the settings.
For me it was a good thing- made me realise a few apps don’t need to keep accessing my location, so just changed settings to “only when using app”.
Overall this is a good feature from apple.
I agree, but people literally shit on Android for years about that lol
Eh, do people realize you can allow once, always or never?
Linus burned Android reminder lol "notice my reminder?"

@@XionEternum wuzDa_reason
i can't understand that why he said that, I'm using google keep for years and it's just better for years.
@@ERMO6627 Simply put; most people experiencing this issue is due to advanced power settings imposing process restrictions such as: Restrict auto-start; restrict in background; scheduled wake-ups in background; forced deep sleep; and sweeping running apps when the device is locked for active processes. Most of these functions are detrimental to apps that perform push notifications, such as reminders. Unfortunately since Android 8 these limiters/restrictions have been dynamically automated, and many custom UIs from the likes of Samsung don't allow turning them off. Even enabling developer mode on Samsung phones doesn't allow access to them as it's a power management feature. There are still ways to disable them such as third-party apps or rooting. Likely also how Linus is one of the few with a bizarre power drain on most Samsung phones.
Jam your reminder up your clacker .

No device will ever do everything under the sun we want and need it to.
The day it does, we will get bored.
The second we get everything we want in a device, expectations will be hereby eternally astronomical, and unrealistic.
You get the point. Congrats! People think that multi billion dollar companies like apple or samsung cannot create the best phone. Of course they can. Notchless, unbreakable, with better-than-dslr cameras.. But just like everything nowadays, they are operating a cartel. Every year they agree on things that will add to their new devices in the name of progress and make people believe that they are actually competing each other, but in reality they are just milking their customers together all along. And thats the reason they are multi billion dollar companies and we are wearing stupid looking earbuds in order to impress people we dont even know or like thinking we own a status symbol..
@@dennisk000 maybe not better than DSLR camera, calm down
@@YounesLayachi in the 90s we created a space telescope that was able to look back to the creation of the universe. That was 30 years ago. Why do you think it is not possible?
The day they give you the perfect phone is the day they have 1 year left to be in business, because there's no annual upgrade hype train.
They literally hold features back so they have something to offer you later, it's part of the planned obsolescence business model that drives electronics giant's stock value
@@dennisk000 Very different things, true companies like Apple and Samsung could probably create a way better phone than what you can buy right now. But costs would be enormous, almost no one is going to buy a $10K+ phone. You have to understand these are companies that are trying to make money (read: Trying to do anything to maximise profit). In case of that telescope cost probably wasn't a huge factor, but you don't see people buying telescopes to put in their back garden do you ? I'm not even considering the fact that a telescope and a phone are inherently very different things which you can simply not compare the way you've done it.

“Hey Siri, activate dnd.”
"Ok! Roll for initiative."
Can you do that from a sleeping apple device ? not being sarcastic , just an honest question .
mikldude yes
I always see the Siri sucks at this and that on these videos, but I'll tell you one thing. Siri is better than both Google and Bixby. OK Google is only good if you want to do web searches. Sometimes Google will just ignore you. You see it dictate what you said on the screen, but then will just disappear without an answer or even I don't understand. Just gone... This is what I have missed the most since switching to Android 1-1/2 years ago. :(
mikldude If you have Hey Siri enabled then yes.
Watching this six months later on my Pro Max - got it through a deal with Xfinity a week or two after it came out to replace the crappy LG phone I’d gotten from them previously, and haven’t looked back. After years of Android phones - this thing is *such* a breath of fresh air. The battery’s remained absolutely incredible after at least 4-8 hours of daily use since I got it, by the way. I can legitimately only see myself going back to Android if somebody *really* knocks a phone out of the park in the next few years.
Have you heard about the OnePlus 8 pro? It has the longest battery life of any smartphone, forget about Android, even with 120hz 1440p, and with just as much support.

I think this guy is part of the ecosystem guys
Would probably not be that hard for apple to make it understand the word "mute" either
Joacim Sarén the iPhone has a physical mute switch, toggling it off in software would just make for complications.

To my experience, Google Play Music sucks on _any_ device.
Spotify?
Oh shit people actually use Google play music
It worked fine for me on Android. Had countless problems on IOS with random songs not playing. That along with their lack of direction with the future of Google music and RUclips music pushed me to switch to Spotify.
I still remember buying a Google Textbook for school. Typing something word for word in the search would often say "0 results found." Its like but your google... you can't have a bad search feature can you?
I much prefer play music than Spotify, Spotify is uselessly complicated slow and bloated, play music is plain and simple you type a songs name, tap the song and it plays
I think the iphone 11 line up is the first line up since the 5 that everyone equally likes. Apple really nailed it on these. Every so often they'll hit a home run. All their products are good, but there's something about the 11 pro max that just hits different in a good way.
