    I prefer the Skin Diver myself, due to its vintage look. Both are beautiful timepieces. As always great review, love the shots at the end.

    The compressor style divers have one of my favourite designs for dive watches, but lately I like the skin diver style more an more and surprisingly it would be my pick here. Just love the look of this one, even the faux patina is to my liking with this one. 😄

      @@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces Actually really glad you made this video, they trade blows to each their own. I wanted the LLD so bad, but from watching this and countless more research on the LSD. The Skin Diver is the watch I want now. A rugged workhorse with that vintage look I'm after. A watch to keep for the years to come.
      The more I look at it the more I want it. No other watch has given me that feeling in ages. If I I had the money and could choose between a Rolex Daytona or this, I'd actually go for this Skin Diver. And a good looking Daytona is not an easy pass.

      The watch fit on my wrist with the long lugs are just about perfect. With the Eulit Palma Pacific perlon two piece it sits even better. Still want the Skin Diver one day as well, for another time. Once again, great video!

    Thank you for this video as I was debating between the Skin Diver, Legend Diver or the Spirit. I concur with your opinion and ultimately decided on the Legend Diver as I wanted a vintage piece and with Milanese bracelet, just gives it the perfect vintage touch. The internal bezel is a unique feature to have and as your video stated, there's a little click when rotating it in hand and not slippery smooth as I had thought. I like its different from my Hydroconquest with the typical exterior diver bezel, though very well made and built like a tank. Thought the quality was good on that, the LLD far surpasses it IMHO. Appreciate your reviews. Cheers and stay safe!

    First off, great job on the comparison. I am actually working on my first comparison video. This is a tough call for me because I've really liked most of what Longines has been putting out especially the Spirit line. But both of these watches have too many things about each I don't really like. The Skin Diver with the matte dial finish and the arabic's design reminds me of a Flieger more than a diver. And the Legend I just don't know about the internal dive bezel. Don't get me wrong I'm sure they are both very nice in person but just from a video I don't know. But you did a great job on comparing, its not easy to do!

      @@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces the LLD is on par with the Hydro Conquest (non-ceramic bezel version, don't know for the ceramic bezel version) for lume, not the greatest and won't last as long as the Conquest VHP GMT in comparison.

  • @ronin7723
    @ronin7723 3 года назад +2

    I definitely prefer the Legend Diver over the Skin one. Why ? 1- originality of crystal dome & compressor ; 2- versatility for wearing it : both dressed and casual. Moreover, Skin Diver lacks ceramic bezel, date and patina painting. However, I wouldn't buy the Legend Diver for 2 reasons : 1- compressor can't be used under water ; 2- luminescent is very poor. This makes me feel you get the look without the function. On this point, I admit Skin Diver is a bit more consistent. Finally since both watches work with home mechanism, be prepared to depend on Longines factory for maintenance...

    • @seabiscuit726142
      @seabiscuit726142 3 года назад +1

      That Longines "home" mechanism is actually an ETA 2824-2 with some work art on the balancer.

    • @larrymorgan6778
      @larrymorgan6778 Год назад

      So two main things here. 1. The legend diver does not use a super compressor case. While the vintage watches this watch is based on DID use this style, manufacturing techniques have advanced far past this case style and it's no longer needed. 2. The legend diver is rated to 30bar/300m, it's listed right on the Longines website. So you can swim, dive ect. with this watch with no problems. Would be pretty poor for a swiss manufactuere to put 'diver' on their watch if it couldn't be used underwater. And finally, it does not have an in house movement. It's a dressed up ETA. Any competent watchmaker could service the watch

    • @ronin7723
      @ronin7723 Год назад

      @@larrymorgan6778 What's the point to get a vintage style watch if it is only a scam ? If you do ask any other watchmaker to take care of it, you immediately lose Longines warranty.

    • @larrymorgan6778
      @larrymorgan6778 Год назад +1

      @@ronin7723 it’s not a scam, I’m not sure what you mean by that. It doesn’t say it’s a super compressor case. It’s better , and more water resistant. Of course if it’s under warranty then let longines fix it for free if there’s something wrong. But your comment about it having an in house movement is incorrect. Any competent watchmaker could service the movement.

    • @ronin7723
      @ronin7723 Год назад

      @@larrymorgan6778 Got information from salesman. Not from website. He might be wrong, but read the contract : only Longines can fix the watch. How I know it ? I'm a client of the company. Scam is may be too much, you are right, but what I mean is no serious diver will ever use this watch, neither a vintage lover. Yes, the watch is stylish, but don't expect much more. At this price point, you can get something more guenuine, utilitarian and hassle free. So for me it is like getting a Canada Dry instead of a beer.
