- Me shaving my head (with the help of one of my best friends, Michelle, and my brother, Michael, who filmed). I have alopecia areata, and this is the first time I've shaved my head in four years.

Scarring alopecia has been a battle for multiple years for me and I have finally made the decision for my long-term hair stylist to donate what hair I have and to shave it all off next Tuesday. I originally was going to get my hair trimmed and a keratin treatment. I've changed it up with her and already talked to her. I am ready to show my scars from multiple surgeries and not be sad about alopecia and all my hair loss. Very few know and my Mom doesn't. It will be a surprise next Tuesday for her. Lol! I've been bald before so I am ready. Please let me know what clippers and products I should buy to maintain it. You are beautiful and worthy. Happy New Year!

I got tired of dealing with my thinning hair and shaved it all off too. I have a really cool hat collection for when I go out in public and they also fit better without any hair. I couldn't be happier and wish I had done this years ago.

Thank you! I never want it to be an uncomfortable thing or make people feel like we can't talk about it. So I try to joke about it all the time to let people know it's okay!
how do people react when they see you in public? are people asking you often about the reason why you are bald? I am sure you impress anyone by your strong presence as the person you are...
+aj meier Not many people ask anymore. When I worked at my old job, strangers would ask on a near-daily basis, but I work at a much smaller business now and don't really see enough people to ask in the first place. Of course, my few coworkers asked, but it wasn't a big deal. Besides that, I really just go about my day and nobody pays attention to me lol! Hope that answers your question :)

I have to shave my head every once in a while because I have trichotillomania... you seriously look so much better than I do. Your head is so round, and you have very large eyes a feminine cheekbones, which makes you look absolutely beautiful^^

I used to shave my head when I was young then I would wear cool hats as to bring me please don't worry as all be fine .Your got a lovely way about yourself just don't stress yourself out as all be fine .stay save .Thank you
I have alopecia areata as well. l have kept what little bit of hair as well. l have been watching the videos of brave women taking the plunge to cut off the hair. l wear lace front wigs so no one will see my bald head but my family members anyway. l am so inspired to know that l am not alone in this. The shame is gone. Since l work in the legal field, l will not wear my bald head in public but l am proud to say l am taking the baby step to cut off this not needed hair. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

I have alopecia too and by the looks of it, I don't think it's gonna get any better. Thank you for shaving your head and not letting it get the best of you. When your hair started growing back, did you still have the bald spots or did everything grow in evenly? Thanks in advance
it grows with the same bald spots as before. Unfortunately, shaving doesn't fix it.

As it turns out, it went great! My family and friends have been very supportive, and although it took a couple days for me to get used to seeing a hairless me in the mirror, I now think that I look even better now than I did before. Plus, I'm going to be saving hundreds of dollars now on haircuts, so there's that as well. ;)

I was excited to shave my head. Being bald and going out in public is not an issue for me - I'm not embarrassed and don't feel any different than anyone else. I've spent most of my life hoping for regrowth, but right now I'm just enjoying the freedom of not wearing a wig. I don't mind being bald. And thank you.

You're still shaving it on a regular base?
Less regularly now, I'm home a lot more, so I shave it maybe once every 1 or 2 weeks, when it gets to be about 1/4 of an inch long. Very fluffy and soft!

If you are losing hair, you should find out the reasons for it immediately because continuous hair thinning might resembles an underlying condition that you are not familiar of.I found a product definitely the best solution , thank you Argan Rain

Swank Design, when this video was filmed, I had been suffering the burden of a wig for 4 years. With the shave came the freedom of going out in public as I truly am - bald! I am very happy being myself. :)
Swank Design Well, people come up to me on a near-daily basis, and most of them ask me if I'm going through chemo and whatnot. Some people just say that they like my style, they think it's badass. The occasional Starbucks barista gets emotional telling me how beautiful they think it is. It just varies, you know. I remember this one time, I must have been 12 or 13, a middle-aged woman came up to me while I was sitting at the mall with my best friend and my brother and she said something like. "You should really wear a wig because I can't tell if you're a girl or not. Are you even a girl? That's not an appropriate hairstyle for a girl, you should cover it up." Then she walked proudly away. That was probably the nastiest reaction I've ever got. But most people just ask me if I have cancer.
I would consider the pigmentation, but I don't really like having stubble or looking like I have stubble permanently. I prefer my head to look completely smooth and clean-shaven. :)

That alopecia really sucks . I don't have it but I shave my head like your . Be honest I love it shaved . I know don't like it but butt you are sure cute lady with a shaved head . You can always ware a wig but why . It is a new style now days . I would love to date a lady with a bald head someday or marry a bald lady . Hair is not everything. BALD IS BEAUTIFUL
