I went through it as an adult, and I was terrified trying to breathe. There are two types of immune response that our body mounts against covid. One is IgA, which happens days 1-5ish after exposure, and the other is IgG, which kicks in around day 3/4 and hangs around to, hopefully, wipe out the infection. IgG is the type of antibody that we obtain through getting the vaccine. IgA, even in people who have had covid, doesn’t hang around in the body. It tends to attack virus in the nose/throat area as the virus is starting to invade the body. So, with Delta, days 1-4 of exposure, samples taken from the noses of vaccinated and unvaccinated people look exactly the same. This is why it’s so important for people to wear masks right now, even if you are vaccinated. Vaccinated people could get away with not wearing masks before delta became prevalent. But Delta reproduces so much faster people become much more contagious in the early days. As the virus makes its way further into the body that’s when the IgG antibodies kick ass. If you are vaccinated, you may get sick but the odds are very much in your favor of not needing to go to the hospital or die. 97% of people in hospitals right now are unvaccinated. Or, if you aren’t a scientist or medical professional, you can just put your trust in what the majority of the medical doctors recommend. You will always be able to find outlying opinions but it seems logical to go with what the majority of doctors say. It may not block everything but some experts have said the amount of virus entering your body may actually reflect how sick one may get. She got covid at home! Now imagine what’s happening in schools. There are extremely limited amount of sinks compared to the amounts of students in a lot of classrooms. Schools are not equipped with proper sanitary means and procedures to function properly without putting the children at risk. My local school had an outbreak on the first day of school because a parent let their child go to football practice (the weekend prior) and found out afterwards that one of the players was covid positive. I feel if the children are too young to be vaccinated, they should be taught virtually and the vaccine should be approved so they can get back to normal school life.

She's been sick a lot and a couple of days ago, her dad said she was going for her 3rd Covid test. Can you believe this? He didn't say they were going to take her out of school but I assume they're not. They got lucky so far with 2 negatives and they still don't get it. I didn't say anything but I was disgusted. She's 3. It's so wrong. It makes me think they're sick of their kid.
That’s great. You do what’s best for your OWN child. Some of us will prefer to send our kids to the real world with real people in it. It should be up to each family to chose if virtual or in person learning. Think about the single parents, or the parents that work outside of the home, or the ones that have multiple young kids. I went through it as an adult, and I was terrified trying to breathe. Waking up in the middle of the night fighting to get a breath, no matter how small was a blessing so I can't imagine how scared she must feel. being so small and vulnerable. Her mother shouldn't blame herself. If grow adults had done what was necessary then children wouldn't be facing this.

There are two types of immune response that our body mounts against covid. One is IgA, which happens days 1-5ish after exposure, and the other is IgG, which kicks in around day 3/4 and hangs around to, hopefully, wipe out the infection. IgG is the type of antibody that we obtain through getting the vaccine. IgA, even in people who have had covid, doesn’t hang around in the body. It tends to attack virus in the nose/throat area as the virus is starting to invade the body. So, with Delta, days 1-4 of exposure, samples taken from the noses of vaccinated and unvaccinated people look exactly the same. This is why it’s so important for people to wear masks right now, even if you are vaccinated. Vaccinated people could get away with not wearing masks before delta became prevalent. But Delta reproduces so much faster people become much more contagious in the early days. As the virus makes its way further into the body that’s when the IgG antibodies kick ass. If you are vaccinated, you may get sick but the odds are very much in your favor of not needing to go to the hospital or die. 97% of people in hospitals right now are unvaccinated. So, you really need to understand the big picture if you want to grasp the logic of it. Or, if you aren’t a scientist or medical professional, you can just put your trust in what the majority of the medical doctors recommend. You will always be able to find outlying opinions but it seems logical to go with what the majority of doctors say. And if you are ever wondering what they recommend, just google what the American Medical Association has to say about vaccines.

She got covid at home! Now imagine what’s happening in schools. There are extremely limited amount of sinks compared to the amounts of students in a lot of classrooms. Schools are not equipped with proper sanitary means and procedures to function properly without putting the children at risk. My local school had an outbreak on the first day of school because a parent let their child go to football practice (the weekend prior) and found out afterwards that one of the players was covid positive. I feel if the children are too young to be vaccinated, they should be taught virtually and the vaccine should be approved so they can get back to normal school life.

Should have shared news & videos like this when Covid first started. Children have been dealing with Covid since the beginning, they just tried to keep it hush, hush. They didn’t want people & the kids to panic.

This was all new to all around the world. Yes there were viruses and pandemics but not as bad during our lifetime. Thank goodness for science and doctors and nurses. Yes mistakes were made always have and people die. But we are supposed to learn from them but it appears that half the people in this country prefer to point fingers and blame others instead of doing the right things.
Children getting severely sick from Covid IS NOT NEW! They KNEW OVER A YEAR AGO that some children have a severe reaction to Covid, just like some adults. THEY LIED TO PROTECT THIER BEST INTEREST & NOW HERE WE ARE OVER A YEAR LATER & THEY WANT TO TELL THE TRUTH, TO STOP THIS PANDEMIC....but what they didn’t learn IS THAT THEIR CONSTANT LIES & MISINFORMATION IS WHY COVID IS GOING NO WHERE ANYTIME SOON. When you don’t call them out & hold them accountable on their mistakes THEN NOBODY LEARNS FROM THOSE MISTAKES. So my comment stands, they should’ve told the truth about Covid and kids from the very beginning AND THATS HOW WE LEARN WHAT TO DO TO STOP THE SPREAD AND DURATION OF A NEW PANDEMIC.

Mother was an E.R Nurse, was she vaccinated and bought it home, or was she unvaccinated and bought it home?
Nurses are required to be vaccinated or lose your job. I have multiple family members in the medical field. They are required to be vaccinated and all are.

FYI, vaccinated people don’t get sick or as sick as unvaccinated people but the vaccinated carry the virus and spread it just as readily as the unvaccinated.
Yes that’s why I continue to wear a mask and wash hands because just because my family is vaccinated my daughter isn’t don’t want her to get it from us!!
While vaccinated can still spread the virus they do not spread it as much as the unvaccinated population does. The vaccinated carry a weakened version of the virus where the unvaccinated do not.

People have become so selfish n only care about how they can't breathe with a mask on or whatever nonsence excuse they have to not want to wear one..its the children who are suffering!!..I recently spoke to a man who lost his brother and his brother's wife to covid and he said their young kids kept begging them to wear the masks and they believed covid wasn't real because they didn't know anyone who had it..now the kids have to grow up with no parents and have the thoughts in their minds everyday how they begged their parents to wear a mask n they didn't listen
