It's nice to see real people with real homes/messes. They're so relatable. There's nothing more depressing than watching someone starting with a clean, perfect house when you need to be inspired.
Hi Carla Just wanted to say I love your blog! I also love your apartment and your way of decluttering for yourself and for others and your great personality...Keep doing what you're doing...Great work and awesome ideas❤
What a huge difference removing part of the sofa is, totally worth it . I would have also decluttered the TV stand, put the kallax on its side, maybe added some little legs/feet and put the TV on the kallax 😁
I was going to suggest that too. I would put the stair machine in the window, the sofa where the tv is and the bookcase, on its side across, from the sofa. The bass could stay in its original corner.
I always enjoy these decluttering with friends videos b3cause they are real people in real apartments-condos-small homes and not multi room luxury homes that minimalists inhabit. Love the choices of removal. Small space for a huge bass, huge stairmaster and huge sofa. A strong magnet can remove that store tag, but let them take care of it at the store. Thanks for sharing this. You are oh so supportive and kind to your friends.
It looks so incredible! I wonder if she put the TV on an arm that mounts to the wall if that would be practical because you could point it at the couch or you could point it at the stairmaster. Just a thought. What a beautiful room; I am sure it will be enjoyed!
Getting rid of half the sofa was a game changer. 👏🏽 I love this series. I’m not a professional organizer but I’m that friend that people call when they need help decluttering and organizing. It’s so rewarding to help. 💕
I’m only a few minutes in but that bookcase can become a tv console and you can still keep some books in it. We’ve done it in the past, as has my friend. It works really well & frees up space.
Well done decluttering and brave move selling half the sofa instead of the stair master! I wish you had tried the bass over by the closet, the stair master side-on to window (have a nosey at what’s going on outside, plus get the breeze on warm days), the sofa on the long wall opposite the tv.
I love the transformation, so smart to just veto half that couch! One thing i would have loved to see was the option of flipping that Ikea bookshelf on it’s side. And put the tv on that. I know that’s only possible if there’s enough space for the rest of the electronics. But i have become such a fan of lower cabinets and shelves during my decluttering journey, that i can highly recommend it 🤗 Can’t wait to see the next Friends episode 🌸
I love how you are using your talent to help your friends and that they are allowing us to be inspired by opening their homes. I hope they know how appreciative we are for them doing this 💗
In a space that small inches count. Try hanging shelf storage instead of a floor book case. Might have been able to keep the entire sofa if the books were put up on a long wall shelf close to the ceiling. I live in a small space also, high hanging shelves and a wall hanging console table/ media cabinet has been a space game changer with additional storage to boot. Hang it if u can, floor space in a tiny apt. is to precious for book storage and a TV stand. You can alway repair holes in the wall and touch up paint before you move out.
Decluttering opened up the room so nicely. Those stair masters I’ll never understand because I’d rather go somewhere public and walk the steps than to keep something so bulky in my apartment. Enjoyed the remake of the space. Thank you.
Ohhhh I just see that room with a full wall unit where the cube unit and tv is! Vertical space is definitely the goal in this room and it’s such a cute and cozy space ❤
I had to be realistic about my eliptical machine in my small space. I didn't use it enough to warrant it being there. I sold that. A real great decision.
An amazing job Carla. You succeeded creating zones in such a small area. You have a way of talking to people that enables them to cope with making decisions to declutter their home ❤
Carla I love your channel! You’re so kind and loving to your friends. I love how you don’t mind helping them with de cluttering . Her room looks great! I’m proud of your journey and I love your apartment and Samson!! Be encouraged and continue to let your light shine!
I love love love your videos with clients/friends - showing REAL and totally relatable living spaces. ❤️ I really liked how you gently pushed her to get rid of one of the bulkier items - that big decision making moment always stalls me out. I'll be "thinking" about it for months before I take action 🤭
Carla, I love your channel so much and how you help your friends, you are amazing and inspiring! Jenn, thank you for opening up your home to us. You did an amazing job!
The shock on my face when she got rid of half of the couch. I was also almost considering the same thing. I have a big L shaped couch that takes up lots of wall space and I also had a desk that had like one leg on the left side and the right side was somehow connected to storage furniture… so I couldn’t just detach the storage and keep the desk. I have finally decided to get rid of that desk and buy a normal one that I can move around as often as I want. There is so much more space and cleaning underneath is so much easier. If the couch wasn’t one year old, I would definitely replace it with one normal sized couch and an armchair… those you can configure however you want. So one thing I have learned is to never buy bulky pieces that somehow connect together and depend on each other… you put them in one place and can never move them ever again.
Jen's apartment is so cozy and warm, i love it. I have a living room that shape, a little bit bigger tho. Your help and co-work with your friends is amazing, we are all so much alike and there is a way thru the clutter tunnel ! So many things are not needed, it's eye opening.
Carla whenever you post content it lifts up my mood ❤️🌻 because I decluttered my room by watching your videos they were soo helpful, inspiring and motivated me to do the same to my room and now I have a clear working space with minimalistic approach. All thanks to you ❤️❤️🌻🌻😃☺️.. You have a very positive energy overall.. Keep it up 👍🏻❤️🌻🌻🌻
In a tiny space it’s really good right have the furniture to be lighter in color. Like painting the book shelf cream instead of it being black would make the space feel larger. That sort of thing. And also keeping the wall space clear makes it feel lighter.
One of those bags to suck air out of works great for making sleeping bags smaller to store, even grocery bags work, just twist real tight and tape. I store blankets the same way and you can stack 6 where 1 would be.😊
Great job! I’d put the little end table by the window and the couch back against the white wall. It looks like there’d still be space for the stair master in the same spot. So great getting that space decluttered!
Jen, it looks so good🙂 We keeps things for many reasons so letting go is not always easy. So happy you are loving your new room. Carla, you are so great at allowing your friends to go at their pace. You encourage them and are so positive. I always love your videos❤#beruthless
Might have more space if you put the couch on the wall opposite the tv and put the stairmaster along side the window and then you could have a view while working out and it would not be in front of the closet also you could see the tv better. Just a suggestion. Love the channel.
I cannot get over how tiny the apartments are in America!!! The bookcase (kallax?) I would have moved it landscape and put the TV on top so it was a tvconsole with books underneath maybe and get rid of the TV stand altogether
🤔 I think the thing I would have done differently is put the loveseat back against the longer wall (instead of back to window), and push it all the way towards the window, then mount the tv on that little protruding wall right in front of it (where you currently have the instrument). Then it would free up the other area where the tv was to put all the instrument related stuff. Because now she can't really comfortably watch TV in there. Then you'd have a good tv zone, a musical zone and a workout zone. 🙂
You did a super job! Getting rid of the big piece made a huge difference. Another success story and your friend looks so happy. I am going through a declutter at the moment and so am not a happy camper as I hate doing that but it must get done. I am not giving up this time.
Carla you both did a GOOD job! The bass and TV should and can be mounted on the wall. The books can also be on shelves on the wall. I thought they are supposed to touch the items so that they can decide.
That Stair-master would have brought out my meanest self lol you’re a good friend! It’s the exercise equivalent of a single use kitchen tool, (banana slicer?) just climb stairs for free outside! Great work though, ladies! ❤
Looks good!! Y'all did a great job!! And the other part of the couch helped someone else, so that is awesome. I'm having a little trouble getting rid of the stuff I'm decluttering. Not because I'm attached to it, but mostly because of laziness. I've been driving around 2 boxes for a couple weeks.... it's a struggle for sure. Thanks for the motivation as always!

What a fun video while being productive. You two did great. That tiny living room looks great. Most people do need a buddy to get their living space in order-I am glad you were able to help this friend achieve her goal.
Hi Carla and Jenn, thank you for showing us your process and the progress at the end. I truly felt happy watching both of you working together. I haven't even watched this yet and I'm so excited that you are so close to me in San Francisco!!! I'm looking so forward to watching this video! I'm wondering how to reach out to you to help me declutter and organize my teeny tiny space not far from SF🙏🏾🙌🏾☀️
Great video! We have a few bass and guitars so I bought wall hangers and hung them on the wall, and I put away the cases. It looks beautiful and saves space.
Great idea downsizing the couch! I just wish you guys would have removed the armrest from the piece you gifted to the neighbor before getting rid of it, so her smaller section looked complete. Those types of couches are convertible like that.
Very interesting to see the honesty. She wants her stuff and is a little grumpy about giving any of it up even if she can see the benefits of de-cluttering. I did wonder about all the packaging, is it needed for upcoming videos?
Oh wow! Great Job Ladies! She definitely did not have a lot of things.... just utilize the space the Best Way possible. Nice to see a different type of organization
I would have put the bookshelves horizontally and put the tv on top of it. That would have save quite some space. Also wall brackets for the base keeps it safe and out of the way when not in use. Either way well done ladies ❤
So I totally understand with lady when she says just in case. I’m a single mom of 2 sons. And that “just in case” has saved us so many times. I don’t have the money to start new again which is fine. Bc when I left my sons dads we left with the clothes on our back and when we got our own place. We would eat dinner off the moving boxes till I got a table lol. Now we have a very simple tiny place. No closet’s except in bedrooms and I put curtains over them so they wouldn’t look so crazy No hall closets or cabinets. So watching this does help me. Crap we don’t need does need to go. I always keep the rule if it’s broke it’s trash. Unless we can glue it that day. Like football or bball trophies.

3) Get a small ottoman to rest her feet.
