I would put the stair machine in the window, the sofa where the tv is and the bookcase, on its side across, from the sofa. The bass could stay in its original corner.

I always enjoy these decluttering with friends videos b3cause they are real people in real apartments-condos-small homes and not multi room luxury homes that minimalists inhabit. Love the choices of removal. Small space for a huge bass, huge stairmaster and huge sofa. A strong magnet can remove that store tag, but let them take care of it at the store. Thanks for sharing this. You are oh so supportive and kind to your friends.

It looks so incredible! I wonder if she put the TV on an arm that mounts to the wall if that would be practical because you could point it at the couch or you could point it at the stairmaster.

I love the transformation, so smart to just veto half that couch! One thing i would have loved to see was the option of flipping that Ikea bookshelf on it’s side. And put the tv on that. I know that’s only possible if there’s enough space for the rest of the electronics. But i have become such a fan of lower cabinets and shelves during my decluttering journey, that i can highly recommend it 🤗 Can’t wait to see the next Friends episode 🌸

In a space that small inches count. Try hanging shelf storage instead of a floor book case. Might have been able to keep the entire sofa if the books were put up on a long wall shelf close to the ceiling. I live in a small space also, high hanging shelves and a wall hanging console table/ media cabinet has been a space game changer with additional storage to boot. Hang it if u can, floor space in a tiny apt. is to precious for book storage and a TV stand. You can alway repair holes in the wall and touch up paint before you move out.

The shock on my face when she got rid of half of the couch. I was also almost considering the same thing. I have a big L shaped couch that takes up lots of wall space and I also had a desk that had like one leg on the left side and the right side was somehow connected to storage furniture… so I couldn’t just detach the storage and keep the desk. I have finally decided to get rid of that desk and buy a normal one that I can move around as often as I want. There is so much more space and cleaning underneath is so much easier. If the couch wasn’t one year old, I would definitely replace it with one normal sized couch and an armchair… those you can configure however you want.
So one thing I have learned is to never buy bulky pieces that somehow connect together and depend on each other… you put them in one place and can never move them ever again.

🤔 I think the thing I would have done differently is put the loveseat back against the longer wall (instead of back to window), and push it all the way towards the window, then mount the tv on that little protruding wall right in front of it (where you currently have the instrument). Then it would free up the other area where the tv was to put all the instrument related stuff. Because now she can't really comfortably watch TV in there. Then you'd have a good tv zone, a musical zone and a workout zone. 🙂

    Someday,
    1) Jenn can get a new proper 2 seater sofa and give away the present one.
    2) Also, maybe fix the tv on the wall. Get shelves to mount the speakers and cables on the wall. Get rid of the tv table to have more space.

I would have put the bookshelves horizontally and put the tv on top of it. That would have save quite some space. Also wall brackets for the base keeps it safe and out of the way when not in use. Either way well done ladies ❤

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one that doesn't return things in a timely fashion! I also wouldn't give up on that plant yet....

So I totally understand with lady when she says just in case. I’m a single mom of 2 sons. And that “just in case” has saved us so many times. I don’t have the money to start new again which is fine. Bc when I left my sons dads we left with the clothes on our back and when we got our own place. We would eat dinner off the moving boxes till I got a table lol. Now we have a very simple tiny place. No closet’s except in bedrooms and I put curtains over them so they wouldn’t look so crazy No hall closets or cabinets. So watching this does help me. Crap we don’t need does need to go. I always keep the rule if it’s broke it’s trash. Unless we can glue it that day. Like football or bball trophies.
