      @desmien679 26 дней назад

      @@pauljoyner4338 most said explicit lyrics but there were a few that had "MUST BE 18+TO BUY" on the cover and as a kid, that was far more attractive than the explicit lyrics warning. I do however find it amusing that they never put any warnings up in the playgrounds at parks or schools in the 80s/90s instead they ruined them by replacing them with "modern" equipment, which if I had been little when they put them in, I'd still be doing the things that shouldn't have been done such as climbing to the highest point of a structure and jumping off (sometimes onto a friend running past). There's even one park in West Los Angeles near Westwood Village that when I was a kid had the best thing to play on. It was an art sculpture that was actually donated by the artist for kids to play on and designed to look like an artificial rock sculpture that had 2-3 slides from the way it was designed. Later on someone had it gated off so kids couldn't play on it and a sign saying at the request of the artist who donated it. Yet they left the plaque that stated it was intended to be played on.

I remember in school during the 80s there was a constant push by elementary school teachers telling kids to mind the warning labels especially the ones with the skull and crossbones. As a boomer I recognize that we played our part and helped set you up to continue the fine work. We did do a few things I don't hear GenXers talk about, but that may be for the best. Some might suggest (with good reason) that water fights outside in the Montana winter were a bit extreme. (Having a hose shooting out of a basement window was like having a machine gun in a pillbox.) But we learned that some things shouldn't be repeated in the future. And I'm proud to note that GenXers with their own creative minds, have found other interesting "social experiments" to foist on other unsuspecting neighbors.

    We were the latch key generation!
    That is until we lost our keys & then we were locked out of our homes after school until our parents got out of work.
    We then had to work our butts off doing extra chores to prove that we could be trusted with another house key again. This was extremely important because we had some really great shows that came on TV between 3-5pm. And we didn't have DVR & we weren't allowed to use the VHS tapes for our shows 😅
