OMG Hawkins Cheesies I was but a wee 3/4yo Canadian child on the way back home from the grocery store with my parents in the back seat with one of the massive bags filled with smaller bags...I downed literally 75% of the bag before we got home and from then on my family never bought them again as they learned how much I craved them on the daily
Canadian here: it is a meal on its own, but also, at most fast food restaurants, you can sub the fries for poutine with your burger! People also get super creative with poutine and you can get pulled pork poutine, bacon poutine, spicy poutine, popcorn chicken poutine, and so much more! Glad you enjoyed it!
Shut the hell up, seriously, fast food chains don't deserve to call their crap Poutine; if you're willing to call that poutine I can only assume you never had a real poutine in your life. And passed the 3 main ingredients it loses the name as well. If you need to add friggin pulled pork to a poutine it's not being creative, it's just an attempt at masking FAILURE to make a proper Poutine.
I’m from Quebec, and I thought for sure you would have one with frozen fries… BUT! Your wifes homemade fries did look good, and her poutine did look very good also! The best poutine is made with fresh homemade fries, fresh squeaky cheese curds and brouwn sauce. It’s eaten on it’s own or can be paired with any meat!
It's also made with BBQ sauce, in fact in our town most restaurants serve poutine with BBQ sauce instead of gravy, probably because their BBQ sauces are just amazing. There's also Italian poutine that comes with spaghetti sauce instead, my favorite. 😋
@@Radwar99 nah brother... BBQ sauce is just cheaper and taste like shit and chemicals! real gravy with beef stock and veggies stock is way better! you should never have a poutine with bbq sauce! this is crimnal!
As a Canadian I demand my American friends prepare poutine with Wisconsin cheese curds because they are legit in quality. Also you need to drench your fries with gravy.. Quebec is very cold, so poutine is meant to be a very hardy meal.
As a Québecois I must say that Poutine is always better when its freshly made. In Province de Québec, fresh cheese curds are made daily and are really squicky with good taste of Cheddar! Fries must be thick and not become too soggy from the gravy. The gravy can be made from chicken or beef broth + different type of spice so every gravy bring its own signature. I ate so many bad Poutine sadly and its a dish that's really easy to miss.
There’s that Québécois arrogance again. If you think fries, gravy and cheese curds is a difficult dish to master, I Hope you don’t cook for a living. Western Canada improved it by adding crisp bacon crumbles and sautéed onions to it.
@@calbowman4588 well, my comment was only about how people around me and I like poutine. You have the absolute right to love poutine the way you want my friend! And theres a solid difference between "easy to miss" and "hard to master" like you said! Speaking of arrogance, I really like how you said western canada is way better than Québec. Hope you have a great poutine fellow Canadian!
Hey guys, I’m from Québec, also working as a delivery driver for restaurant. From experience, I can tell you that, poutine, is a meal on it’s own, but also a great side. You can have poutine in pretty much every restaurant in Québec, it’s a staple food over here. It’s often ordered with burgers, hot-dogs and pizza. And the most important thing, is that the cheese curds has to come from here, it’s simply the best in Canada, and I know some fellow canadians can attest to that. But from watching many others videos where others try poutine, I’m glad you at least made a very great and fair attempt at it, the only thing I would recommend, is to let the cheese melt a little bit before you eat it, gotta love those cheesy strings ! Also, you should try the version of it called “Galvaude”. Same ingredients, fries, white cheddar cheese curds, gravy, but then, add some shredded cooked chicken and some green peas !
Canadian here ! I have a fun desert dip recipe with score , its a layer of phyllies cream cheese a layer of carmel and crushed score bars , the best way to eat it is to cut some granny smith apples
As someone from Quebec, I am sooo glad you loved the poutine! There are tons of variations (meat sauce instead of gravy, hotdogs added in, pulled pork added in, beef added in, chicken...the list goes on!) Homemade or restaurant, doesn't matter, it is delicious! We also have poutine restaurants that make only poutine! But you NEED to make it with cheese curds. Some people make it with mozzarella and it is NOT the same!
fellow Quebeker here. Best with cheese curds for sure. In a pinch a mild cheddar broken up (NEVER shredded!) is a passable quick alternative when out of curds (kinda like a "welfare poutine" lol)
@@karinberonius8799 Instead of gravy, you cook up some ground beef and add a pasta sauce (I always sprinkle some Parmesan cheese in the sauce for good measure). You want the meat sauce to be about 45/55 meat and sauce. Not too saucy so that it drowns your fries, but enough that you get the taste of the tomato sauce. Soooo good!
Canadian here, we eat poutine on its own (order a large) or as a side (order a small). It’s a great snack and hits the spot every time. Best from a chip truck!

I was going to go all Canadian on you, and say that is not a very cheesy version of Poutine there, but then you went full American, and put Hickory Sticks on it. This is why we love American's. Pure genius! 😂
I grew up in Erie, Pa. Being so close to Canada we had restaurants who made poutine, its amazing. Now I live in Wi , where we have the best cheese curds, i occasionally make a homemade version. Its so yummy. Thank You Canada !

As a Canadian who has had many poutines I must say I've never seen anyone add salt...lol. That being said I want to give applause to your wife. I've seen a few "American tries poutine" and they just subsite cheese and even if they get curd they don't use squeaky curd. I don't care if you like it or not but it has to be a fair representation and that looked right.
@@fknclassy2741 hahaha. I won' tell you that I put a blob of jam on my grilled cheese sandwich then. Learned decades ago to never order in a restaurant. The server looks at you like you're a freak. :)
Eh, I guess it depends on the overall taste of the curds or the gravy, I might add some salt, hell even pepper if I feel the gravy is average. Being from Quebec we're starting to have seen everything that can be added into a poutine to give it a new twist. But one condiment only? I do ketchip also, mostly at 3am, mustard is also pretty satisfy with a pogo on the side, sriracha sauce, not often but yeah. Anyway, as for the salt, everything is low sodium now so my firs reflex when I get a plate is to reach for the salt, can't blame him.
I grew up in Plattsburgh, NY and spent a lot of time in Quebec/Montréal. Poutine is absolutely amazingly! Cheese curds are the way to go. Yours looked amazing! So glad to see you enjoying it!
Canadian here 👋🏼 🇨🇦 poutine is usually paired with your entree, but we also have it as the main dish. Most restaurants here; if they offer fries - they offer poutine as well. We have restaurants who solely offer poutine too. The pairings that they offer are crazy too! You’ve gotta try some more Canadian staples! Ketchup chips, maple syrup, anyone?
I’m from Canada and these are my words on everything you guys ate 1. Eat-More, I’ve never heard of this in my life 2. Mr Big, arguably one of the best candy bars to get for Halloween 3. Kit Kat, it’s good but not my favourite 4. Hickory Sticks, Really good. Nothing more to say 5. Wonder Bar, AMAZING. Super rare though so excited when I get them for Halloween 6. SKOR, they are really good. The toffee 👌 7. Kinder Eggs, oooooh girl! They are so darn good and the surprise inside 😩perfect 8. Big Turk, never heard of it 9. So I actually made this the other day. I'm in Pennsylvania and I decided to mix the comfort foods of the UK and Canada together. I made a classic poutine and a beautiful 1-pound bacon Yorkshire pudding to compliment it. Oh my goodness, it was so good. I probably clogged a couple arteries from that meal but oh well, at least I did it with a smile.
I am from Québec! Some eat poutine on its own. There are several kind of poutine, smoke meat, chicken/peas and a whole lot more flavors as well! Gravy choices also differ, brown, bbq, black pepper, you ought to come visit and taste it all :)
@@tiffaniterris2886 As a guy from Québec it really depends on what and how much you add to your poutine. For exemple a regular poutine with some fried chicken in it or just so regular white chicken is still considered a poutine. It's kinda like a gray zone when people add more things.
"It's mashed potatoes with gravy and cheese" Nah, fries are important, how they're fried is important. The gravy, also important, you got bad gravy, you got a bad poutine.
As a Montreal grown Quebecer, I would say the 4 foods we are known for here are as follows. Poutine, Smoked Meat, Bagels and Maple Syrup. I personally enjoy when my cheese curds are starting to melt due to the hot gravy, but also like the fresh curds on top. I have had many combinations of poutine with other foods along side or as toppings. IE: shredded turkey and green pees toppings was an awesome combo.
Have you guy's ever tried Canadian Nanaimo Bars which were invented in British Columbia? So good! There's lots of Canadian recipes on line. Also, check out hot Saskatoon berry pie with the ice cream of your choice. Yummy!
Both. We eat Poutine on it’s own or as a side dish. There are several weird variations offered at “poutineries”, like lobster poutine, etc… but I think the original is the best 🥰
I was slightly flustered when y’all started thinking it was just random cheese on-top of fries with gravy, glad to see it came with the proper cheese. I’m from BC and personally in my house we consider poutine a meal, we add any type of protein like pulled pork, chicken, or beef and toppings like a taco or simple with just cheese and gravy! 16:18
Yep, it loox like you did try the authentic kind of poutine there...and as for packaged snacks, if you like the Hickory Sticks, please hunt down a bag of real-deal Hawkins Cheezies -- not to be confused with other cheese-flavoured fare! Hawkins are so unique and still made the same way as ever! 🙂
Poutine with pulled pork is my fave 😋 There's an ice cream place near me where they give you a pizza box full of 4 different poutines, and it's amazing.
Poutine can be eaten as a main... but usually accompanied by "Steamies All dressed" (in Quebec, steamed bun hotdogs with mustard and an oily colesaw/onion mix) or a hamburger of some kind. You can also slap meat on the poutine-- Montreal style deli smoked meat is a popular one... bacon.... there's even an "Italian Poutine" where the gravy is swapped out for chunky bolognese sauce and spicy sausage.
I'm québécoise and I'm living in UK. I miss home so much but I do have the sauce and the cheese in my freezer. I think this week it will be a poutine ❤
There are poutineries all over (restaurants or food trucks who just serve poutine variants). You can also get poutine at restaurants and bars, and even our fast food outlets like McDonalds serves poutine.
As a Canadian, I love poutine too. It is so good and so satisfying. I love the italian poutine with the red tomato meat sauce and cheese curds. I'm so very happy that you guys finally tried poutine! I knew that you guys would love it! If you guys ever decide to come to Canada I would love to meet you guys in person. Until then, keep up the laughs and the great work guys!
Thank you for loving us here in the great north! I had no idea that Mr. Big, Eat More were Canadian. You guys have tried the best of us, 2 of my ultimate favourite chocolate bars and the awesome poutine!!! The kinder eggs are legendary here. My kids would get a jumbo one for Easter and Christmas every year! You big kids got just as excited with the kinder egg as my kids. My kids are adults now but THEY STILL BUY KINDER EGGS lmbo! 🤣😂Poutine is a side dish as well as can be just an alone dish. 😁👍🏼🇨🇦
Here in Ontario there is a burger place called the works where they use Hickory Sticks as a topping on the burger with bacon jam, maple aioli, candied bacon and cheese curds Poutine is also a main meal, side dish, something you can have as a late night snack bar at a wedding. Some restaurants and places use shredded cheddar on their poutine which no, I can’t stand behind that, but the curds have to be squeaky and salty to balance with the gravy! Thin cut fries, thick cut, any style fries make a poutine great but it definitely comes down to the cheese and the flavour/consistency of the gravy. Some places also go crazy and make pulled pork poutine, butter chicken poutine and things like that. We have stores here that just specialize and sell poutines You’re looked awesome! 👏
Hello from Québec!! ❤ It's so weird and fun to see people trying poutine for the first time! So glad you love it. It is such a staple, we order it as a main dish and often as a side dish. In restaurants, usually you can swap your fries for a poutine for an extra few bucks.
Canadian Here! Poutine (Pronounced Poo-Tin) is available as a Meal in itself or a side dish, several restaurants serve it and our their variations of it. I often make it myself at home. There is a lot of people who will say it’s not Poutine if you don’t use Curds but I’ve also had it with shredded mozzarella and it’s delightful! You guys definitely need to try AUTHENTIC poutine up here in Canada. It will change your lives!
Poutine is the best! It can be the main meal or a side dish ❤ The cheese cards are best if you let them get to room temperature then put them on the fries and pour really hot gravy on them so the cheese gets melty ❤ Delicious!
As a Canadian and someone who used to work in a fast food chain I can safely say that one of the restaurants I briefly worked in would make one's like: cheeseburger poutine, Mac n cheese, etc we would add almost anything in there. (My favorite ones are the cheeseburger one and ones with chicken strips hidden under the cheese and gravy)
Eat more bar is one of my childhood favorite. They seem to be hard to find these days though. When I do see one I buy it and plunge back into my teens.
Poutine can be a side dish, just like getting fries with your burger, McDonalds here in Canada actually has that as an option. But it can also be the main meal as well and there are whole restaurants dedicated to it, (like pizza shops, but instead of pizza they serve poutine) and you can find them literally everywhere.
I've ordered poutine and had it made with shredded cheese rather than curds and literally felt insulted by it, lol! It must be fresh squeaky curds and nothing else! Lately a trend is to dress it up with all kinds of extras like bacon, popcorn chicken, pulled pork or jerk chicken, lobster, etc.! Classic poutine MUST only be fresh cheese curds and quality thick gravy!!
Yes we eat very large plates of poutine for lunch and dinner and sometimes mix it up with Veggie poutine or Meat poutine. Poutine is so popular in Canada that we even have Poutine restaurants that only serve Poutine, it is basically just as popular as Pizza and with just as much variety of different kinds.
I'm from the north of quebec and the poutine is the must, the best recipe I think its with home made 1 cm fried french fries with an extra squeeky fresh curds cheese and the most important a mix of 2/3 half glaze sauce and 1/3 bbq sauce for chicken, i work in some differents restaurant for 17 years now and this is for me the best recipe. Trust me this is amazing !!
Another Québécois here- my friends used to bring kinder eggs on game nights. Ate the eggs, assembled the toys, & the eggs were great cat toys☺️ (And poutine is indeed, da 💣)
poutine is a nation wide Canadian favorite. people can have it for legit meals, an appetizer, a snack, or a quick limited time meal, like going to work. it IS in fact sold in restaurants all across Canada and is often ordered as either an appetizer, side dish or an actual meal. it's part of the special "Classic Canadian Foods MUST Tries" list for visitors and tourists to try before they go back home since nobody else (or very few) sells it, nor makes it like we do. sometimes even people who are lactose intolerant will still eat at least small amounts; it's THAT beloved.
I'm from Québec also! As someone stated before, you can eat it as a main dish, or as a side dish. Not every poutine are created equal ! And I guess that it depends on each personal taste. There is a wide variety of sauce (gravy), plus you can have a wide range of poutine. (With spaghetti meat sauce instead of gravy. Or with onions, with green peppers, with smoked meat, etc)
Currently, we have a few fast food restaurants such as Mcdonald's and Wendy's, who have added poutine on their menus but in my opinion, the quality is better in non-fast food restaurants or homemade even. Glad you like them!
I’m Canadian and yes, I definitely love poutine. Poutine can be bought in restaurants as well. Even our McDonalds offers poutine here. Haha! Much love from Canada! 🇨🇦 🍁
McDonalds poutine is nothing compared to the real thing. Everything is prepackaged, measured and the taste is substandard. Don't compare their poutine to the real thing.
McDonald's poutine is terrible!!!! The gravy is shiny! It looks like brown hair gel! Burger King, DQ, and Wendy's got it pretty good though. Homemade is by far the best though. It must be fresh.
The thing about poutine is you can change the ingredients as you please, and add some more. The gravy could be make from Duck base or red wine base, the cheese curd can be replaced with Haloumi and such... and yeah, steak strip in a poutine is absolute delight :)
im born in Quebec as what we call here pure laine. And yes we can have a big whole poutine and a nice Pepsi! and we can have a hot dog with it.. its a fast food tradition here. Even Mcdonald serve poutine here! it is also mixed with some Smoked meat if you want or some sausages. and we also have the italian version and add some spaghetti sauce instead of the garvy! you should come here and try! you will not regrets it!!!
In Canada there is a chain Smoke's Poutinerie. They have poutine 26 ways. Anything you can think of you can add to basic poutine to make it whatever you want it to be.
Smokes is good, but my personal favourite chain poutine is from a&w. Fries are perfectly suited to poutine, the cheese is always totally melted and squeaky, and the gravy is great.
I'm in Michigan but I have my enhanced license and my friends and even family sometimes drive to Canada for a weekend JUST to GET POUTINE!! It's absolutely amazing but recently I our stores started getting actual real cheese curds in a variety of flavors and used a copycat recipe to now recreate ones we get there. Lots of love from Michigan ❤️
@@SarahJeanCole there is one with chicken and pea (hot chicken sandwich without bread) , also general tao . . . As long there is fries and cheese curds thats a poutine you can use the sauce/gravy you want and add almost anything you have in mind . . . I'm from Quebec and I have to admit that we love poutine a little too much! But for a good poutine, the cheese must be really fresh and the sauce not too liquid. My favorite is Italian poutine (the sauce is replaced by spaghetti sauce).
Poutine is wonderful, BW3's used to make it for years but stopped. I'm 53 and in Cincinnati and as far as I remember gravy fries with cheese have been a thing in Ohio, and tons of places sell deep fried cheese curds. You also should have tried Nanaimo Bars
As a fellow Ohioian, the fascination with poutine just makes me scratch my head. Lol...every mom and pop diner, dive, and greasy spoon across the Midwest have been serving this for decades and decades. We just call it French fries and gravy! What makes it great is the heaping amounts of love someone's mamaw or auntie put into making that gravy from drippin's.😅
Kinder had some cool prizes back in the the day. My favorite was this rocks where you could remove the top and it show a little chameleon in it that would change colors depending on the temperature.
Poutine is amazing! I grew up thinking it was food that other countries had as well. You can get it at pretty much all major restaurants and many fast food restaurants. And there are fast food restaurants that are just poutines.

The gravy needs to be hot to melt the curds, so you get the cheese pull. But try it with bacon on top!! But yes, a poutine can be a whole meal, or a side. Traditional is gravy, cheese curds and fries. But we also experiment with fried chicken, or pulled pork, etc. so many variations!
Poutine can be a meal, a side, etc. I find it’s made more where I am in restaurants and isn’t made at home as often as cheese curds are expensive lol. The gravy can be different depending on where you go. It’s so common that you can get it at McDonald’s, Costco, etc as options. Quebec poutine to my knowledge is the best (I don’t live near) but you can get some good poutines anywhere if you happen to be in the country. You can have a standard poutine of fries, gravy and cheese curds or you can get wild variants. I recommend trying both. I am a lover of peppercorn (gravy) poutine and even a cheeseburger poutine from a local place.
I'm Canadian and yes they have them in restaurants. I have seen whole restaurants dedicated to poutine and untraditional flavors and yes you can have them either as a side dish or as the meal.

You guys should do a taste the difference on brands, like KitKat, that are found across different countries, like Canada, UK, Australia etc see if there's any difference and if you can tell which is the American! Here's a little something to maybe make that happen!
I love these guys. I do miss them going and trying things. I think they would be hilarious doing the things the impractical jokers do. I dont think Austin would be able to keep from laughing.
It makes me so happy to see people from outside of Canada experiencing Canadian things. There are several restaurants here that make different interesting variations of poutine, but you can never go wrong with the original.

I never thought I'd be so satisfied watching grown men get excited over Kinder Egg toys lol 😂
Probably my favorite part as a Canadian because I grew up getting those as a treat!!! How amazed they were that you got to build the toys too
As someone from Quebec, I am sooo glad you loved the poutine!
Poutine sounds like a heavenly dish, but what is this meat sauce you speak of? I thought gravy essentially was meat sauce.
Soooo good!
Not a quebecer but born in toronto and practically lived in montreal most summers 😂 has to be curds 100% Oka cheese is the best imo
@@jace2wheel762 respectfully disagree. No cheese curds are as good as Coaticook.
Canadian here, we eat poutine on its own (order a large) or as a side (order a small). It’s a great snack and hits the spot every time. Best from a chip truck!

Not in Quebec. Dairy Queens in Quebec only sale ice cream.
I grew up in Erie, Pa. Being so close to Canada we had restaurants who made poutine, its amazing. Now I live in Wi , where we have the best cheese curds, i occasionally make a homemade version. Its so yummy. Thank You Canada !
Don't mention it, lol.
i was in the US once and i found it hard just to get fries and gravy, let alone poutine. i guess you guys don't normally put gravy on fries?
@@ashleyl3699 Not normally. Depends on the area.
You need to find a way to get some Swiss Chalet sauce and you’ve got yourself the classic 🇨🇦 I think it can be bought as a make it at home..powder even?? You’d have to look
@@lainiegrantman2935that's not the classic sauce. The real classic is Berthelet poutine sauce. Once you try that, irs game over for all others
Oh yesss
I'm Canadian as well. I add a few blobs of ketchup. Gravy requires ketchup - always. :)

Lays for the Ketchup Chips. I've been trying multiple brands and honestly? The only one I like are the Lays ones.
I’m from Canada and these are my words on everything you guys ate
1. Eat-More, I’ve never heard of this in my life
2. Mr Big, arguably one of the best candy bars to get for Halloween
3. Kit Kat, it’s good but not my favourite
4. Hickory Sticks, Really good. Nothing more to say
5. Wonder Bar, AMAZING. Super rare though so excited when I get them for Halloween
6. SKOR, they are really good. The toffee 👌
7. Kinder Eggs, oooooh girl! They are so darn good and the surprise inside 😩perfect
8. Big Turk, never heard of it
9. POUTINEEEEEEEE LIKE ONE OF THE BEST THINGS EVER CREATED! THERE IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT IT THAT MAKES IT SO HEAVENLY AWESOME LIKE EATING A DISH FROM ANOTHER DEMENSION
Watching you open the kinder eggs as a Canadian made me both happy and sad. Sad that you guys can’t enjoy them all the time.
I’m in Wisconsin and always see the Kinder eggs in the grocery stores
So we still have the kinder eggs they are just made differently now, one side is the toy the other is the chocolate if I remember correctly
You to are so entertaining
@heathervanpaassen1670 they aren't made the same
I’m Hispanic and those kinder eggs are so popular in Mexico and taste amazing! The one is the US don’t even taste similar to them.
As a Canadian Yorkshire pudding is one of my favorite all-time dipped in gravy is pure bliss
There is a pub called the fox and hound in aldergrove BC, they make a bangers and mash inside of a giant Yorkshire pudding, it's amazing.
I am from Québec! Some eat poutine on its own. There are several kind of poutine, smoke meat, chicken/peas and a whole lot more flavors as well! Gravy choices also differ, brown, bbq, black pepper, you ought to come visit and taste it all :)
De la galvaude au porc effiloché, c'est tout un monde la poutine ! :)
When you start adding all kind of topping it isn't poutine, it's crazy fries, something they already have in the US.
@@tiffaniterris2886 As a guy from Québec it really depends on what and how much you add to your poutine. For exemple a regular poutine with some fried chicken in it or just so regular white chicken is still considered a poutine. It's kinda like a gray zone when people add more things.
@@tiffaniterris2886 in Québec it's still called poutine.
There is over 200 recipe of poutine but the original will always be the best (but my favorite is "italian" one)
"It's mashed potatoes with gravy and cheese" Nah, fries are important, how they're fried is important. The gravy, also important, you got bad gravy, you got a bad poutine.
Not sure if any other East Coast Canadians comment, but we have it mixed with stuffing (stove top, home made, etc.). Its AMAZING !!!!
Damn that sounds good may I have to try that this Canadian Thanksgiving
Full agree! That sounds amazing! Perfect for a very Canadian Thanksgiving! Which is tomorrow! Happy Thanksgiving to any Canucks in the comments!
Schwartz smoke meat and pickle absolute heaven!!
Have you guy's ever tried Canadian Nanaimo Bars which were invented in British Columbia? So good! There's lots of Canadian recipes on line.

Both. We eat Poutine on it’s own or as a side dish. There are several weird variations offered at “poutineries”, like lobster poutine, etc… but I think the original is the best 🥰
100% original is the best. Sometimes I'm tempted to try the different toppings but I always end up wishing I'd gone for normal poutine.
original being the best, galvaude is pretty amazing too
I was slightly flustered when y’all started thinking it was just random cheese on-top of fries with gravy, glad to see it came with the proper cheese. I’m from BC and personally in my house we consider poutine a meal, we add any type of protein like pulled pork, chicken, or beef and toppings like a taco or simple with just cheese and gravy! 16:18
I can see you NEVER had a real poutine. I pity you.
My dad makes homemade poutine from scratch from cutting up the potatoes to shredding the cheese by hand it's good

You should do a taste comparison and guess USA vs Canada snacks! I would love to see a blind taste test!

There are poutineries all over (restaurants or food trucks who just serve poutine variants). You can also get poutine at restaurants and bars, and even our fast food outlets like McDonalds serves poutine.
But don't get mcdonalds poutine. It sucks, had it in Quebec, and British Columbia . Both sucked. Quebec one was slightly better lol

Thank you for loving us here in the great north! I had no idea that Mr. Big, Eat More were Canadian. You guys have tried the best of us, 2 of my ultimate favourite chocolate bars and the awesome poutine!!! The kinder eggs are legendary here. Here in Ontario there is a burger place called the works where they use Hickory Sticks as a topping on the burger with bacon jam, maple aioli, candied bacon and cheese curds
Poutine is also a main meal, side dish, something you can have as a late night snack bar at a wedding.
We have stores here that just specialize and sell poutines
You’re looked awesome!
It will change your lives!
isn't PooTin the president of Russia?
Poutine is the best! It can be the main meal or a side dish ❤ The cheese cards are best if you let them get to room temperature then put them on the fries and pour really hot gravy on them so the cheese gets melty ❤ Delicious!
As a Canadian and someone who used to work in a fast food chain I can safely say that one of the restaurants I briefly worked in would make one's like: cheeseburger poutine, Mac n cheese, etc we would add almost anything in there. (My favorite ones are the cheeseburger one and ones with chicken strips hidden under the cheese and gravy)
I can see you NEVER had a real poutine.

Yeah, shredded cheese on on a poutine is offensive !
It is mainly a main dish or an after dish or really anything you want, but of course we have it in restaurants
Trust me this is amazing !!

poutine is a nation wide Canadian favorite. people can have it for legit meals, an appetizer, a snack, or a quick limited time meal, like going to work. it IS in fact sold in restaurants all across Canada and is often ordered as either an appetizer, side dish or an actual meal. it's part of the special "Classic Canadian Foods MUST Tries" list for visitors and tourists to try before they go back home since nobody else (or very few) sells it, nor makes it like we do. sometimes even people who are lactose intolerant will still eat at least small amounts; it's THAT beloved.

The thing about poutine is you can change the ingredients as you please, and add some more. The gravy could be make from Duck base or red wine base, the cheese curd can be replaced with Haloumi and such... and yeah, steak strip in a poutine is absolute delight :)

Poutine is wonderful, BW3's used to make it for years but stopped. I'm 53 and in Cincinnati and as far as I remember gravy fries with cheese have been a thing in Ohio, and tons of places sell deep fried cheese curds. You also should have tried Nanaimo Bars

Pulled pork poutine is my fav! It’s exactly what it sounds like… the usual fries … cheese curds and gravy with a huge portion of pulled pork on top mmmmmmm!!! So many things taste different here in Canada than in the US…. Our McDonald’s, Taco Bell, KFC etc all taste way different! You guys need to take the show on the road!! ❤️❤️
I tried KFC in Kentucky. I'm Canadian and have to ask what kind of steroid-laden, pumped-up franken-chickens do you guys have down there?, lol! I ordered a two piece and couldn't finish it! The chicken breasts were double the size! I'm an obese man and could only eat one piece!
Poutine looks so good! I need to see if I can find some cheese curds in Norway to make this. Yum! Love and hugs from Norway!
Im from Sweden and to me cheese curds sounds like they are basicly Keso or more like mozzarella torn in pieces. Its a very mild cheese flavour.
Cheese curds have a very squeaky feel when you eat them. Not like mozzarella.

Oh my lord, this is absolutely GENIUS! Also, huge thank you for your donation, support, and love. You are the best!
That's a really good idea
Any chance Men Try is going back out to try stuff? These taste tries are fun, but so are your other tries. Variety 😊
I love these guys. I do miss them going and trying things. I think they would be hilarious doing the things the impractical jokers do. I dont think Austin would be able to keep from laughing.
14:51 he called poutine fancy. lol cute.
It makes me so happy to see people from outside of Canada experiencing Canadian things. There are several restaurants here that make different interesting variations of poutine, but you can never go wrong with the original.
