I've watched a lot of your vlogs, and I must say that you are a very good example to expats and balikbayans (people who grew up in the Philippines, moved-worked-lived abroad, retuned to the Philippines) on how to enjoy a comfortable, middle-class lifestyle in the Philippines. Not breaking the bank, not splurging, researching and budgeting, buying local, no extravagant trips...yet enjoying life in the Metro Manila area and travelling around the Philippines. No expensive car or SUV or a high end bike either. I am impressed at how you simply make do, without any qualms, with commuting, riding a taxi, Uber, even the bus and train(?). Good lesson in "living within your means". VERY ADMIRABLE, indeed. Wish your more success and safe travels. God bless.
I'm going to recommend one, I just remembered something. We ate at a buffet in Pampanga. I think the place was named Bale Capampangan. Pretty nice dishes there too. I loved the balut dish. But I loved the dishes made by the people we visited in Pampanga.
That was funny when the waiter took his time writing in long hand; seems like he was also writing the part when you said you'd like to keep the menu! :-) Keep the adventures coming, Marshall! Stay safe!
yeah.. They always do that. Then repeat your order back. Marshal should have vlogged the Tequila Reef restaurant. So good. I did a short video on that place. going to upload it today.
Congratulations Mr. Marshal Butters! You've tripled your subscribers since I first started watching your posts. The range of your culinary adventures are both educational and entertaining! I'm sure you'll soon reach your goal of fifty thousand subscribers. So a thousand fold of best wishes and good luck!
Pretty sure I discovered the channel thanks to one of your earlier Baguio trips (Cafe by the Ruins). I was on a nostalgia trip and seeing the cafe brought back wonderful memories of my short time there. Your vlogs covers the content I've been looking for from an English speaker. Just curious if you've done a Q&A video to give newer subscribers a sense of what brought you to the Philippines and what your plans are while you're there. Cheers and see you in the next video!
It’s called tokwa’t baboy because you’re supposed to eat them together and not separately. For the salad, you only put the vinaigrette when you’re going to eat it already and not when you’re putting it aside to try something else first. If a restaurant specializes on a certain food like mila’s for sisig, be sure to order their best seller. Good places with good food but you’ve been eating everything the wrong way.
The best tip is always ask the staff how to eat the food. This is usually the e mistakes of foreigners trying Filo food even in when abroad. Nobody asks and no staff also doesn't teach them how to eat, that's y most eat halo halo d wrong way or d calamansi on Pansit.
Yummy delicious Pampanga dishes. I miss those as I lived there inside the Mimosa villas inside Clark field for many years during the late 1990s before going abroad. We appreciate much your awesome videos. Yes, I'll be telling everyone I know to subscribe to your great RUclips channel. Cheers!
Interesting to watch again your vlog. Been your subscriber for the past 2 years now. I love your travelogue, but recently you are more focus on food, culinaries, special dishes, street foods, exotic foods. I love to see gorgeous restaurant but as well as interesting places and point of interest. Keep vlogging my friend and I hope u reach 50K soon.
Hi Marshall we have watched you from the very beginning and have always loved your adventures. Recently feeling (inaccurately I am sure) that as though you are sponsored by the Chef and doing a food tour and we are missing out on seeing the City you are actually in which is why I assume you travel there to see a new destination and surroundings but we miss. We are finally going back to Manila and Boracay in April after 2 years of being locked out which we are so looking forward to. We have a Condo on Roxas in Pasay and fingers crossed that all is ok inside?. Take good care from a fellow Aussie.
No, not sponsored by Chef Gene. He has been kind enough to refer me to some great restaurants and suggest interesting and delicious dishes for me to try. I could perhaps have done a bit more on Angeles itself but I was only there for two full days. I didn't get the opportunity to vlog Clark either but, there will be another visit at some stage.
@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 Love you Vlogs so keep up the great work Marshall. Just a little constructive feedback I hope , as you are a Star when you walk the streets.
Thanks for another great video, best of luck hitting the 50K AND beyond subscribers, I'm already one so can't add to it myself. That Tokwat baboy looked interesting and will try that someday. Take care and continued safe travels to you.
Hello Marshall, I love tokwa at baboy but they served it in the wrong plate. It should be in a bowl with tokwa and baboy mixed together with chopped garlic and sauce made of soy sauce, vinegar and black pepper on the side and poured on the tokwa at baboy mix in the bowl. Liked the salad too. It is good you did not order the famous sisig.
Very cool video. Oh.. i was down in Angeles the same time as you. Darn.. could of met you. I walked right by your hotel once. I was down doing some VA paperwork for my Military. Try eating at Tequila Reef next time. It is really good. I'm going to upload that Video today! They wouldn't let me Vlog inside S & R to do a follow up video of non food items. Come up here to San Juan La Union. They have lots of good international and local restaurants. Be cool to hand with you and show you around.

Looks like a good one, never been there will have to try it. Used to eat fern in Canada, when the tops are in their rolled up state, they call it fiddle-head because it obviously looks like the top of a fiddle. Little bit bitter green that was boiled and that you ate with mustard
@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 Went to the other location today for lunch. It is in Korea Town probably closer to the hotel you styed in than the other location.
