A long time ago, in a state far away, I redid my 1970’s era kitchen on a budget with paint and lots of acrylic/epoxy. The edge was not as I hoped, there were uneven places, it took far longer than planned, and if I ever get lung cancer, all that spray paint and a poor mask will be my risk factor. With all of that, I still liked it; the imperfections grew on me. They were signs of workmanship, triggers for memories (granted, not all of them good!) and were certainly more “me” than what was there at the start. Your counters look OUTSTANDING and that you both did it together is the best part. Enjoy the imperfections, the stories they tell and the memories they recall.
Thank you
Always love your builds, but I think your positivity adds that extra bit that people need some times!
Thank you very much!
The back bar looks great. And something I've learned about mistakes over the years is they add a great story to a piece. Y'all be easy and keep making something out of nothing!
Thanks 👍
@@TheSmugglersRoom life is full of happy little accidents.
Amazing and love the fact you shared your frustration rather then edit it out..as makers we have all been there
Glad you enjoyed it
I have collected star wars for many years but only after we bought our first house did I consider a themed room. This, amongst others you have done, has helped inspire me to work on my themed workshop/shuttle bay. Thanks.
The clouds of Jupiter on a tabletop, beauty!!!
LOL! Exactly!! Thanks
I had no idea an epoxy countertop like that was possible. I’m inspired!
Right? Neither did we! Can’t wait until you see the actual front bar. It turned out even better!
Awesomeness. Love seeing these builds. Keep marching on, brother. You'll finish eventually as long as you don't stop.
Thanks! Will do!
Bryan, Carissa, you guys are amazing. Love the worktops.
Thanks so much!
Despite the challenges you had, still came out amazing! I’ve never done an epoxy pour before, but watching this makes me want to give it a try.
You should!
For your first time doing a countertop like that, I think it came out great. The colors in it reminds me of flowing lava. I think it would be cool if you built a container that holds a colored liquid with some sort of creature in it that would be a drink someone could order.
Stay tuned my friend . . . Stay tuned!
Amazing show! Both of you guys showing us the tag team at work is Awesome!
Thanks so much!
the Cantina Build continues, yay!
Finally right?
That looks pretty awesome! Thanks for share your techniques and even mistakes, mistakes are the best teachers, wonderful project 👏👏
Thanks so much!
This looks great for any room, and this notches up the cool factor to the top, very impressive !
Thank you very much!
Looks absolutely wonderful, Brian and Carissa! Nice to see the room build back. Also, thanks for the reminder that mistakes happen and the key is to keep moving forward
Thank you!
The top looked like a sand dune love it
Thank you
Brian... for your first time.... I think your countertop looks really good. Be blessed my friend. And keep bringing us the content that out of this world and from not so far, far away. Well, you are kind of far, far away to me. I live in Tennessee...lol
Thanks! Will do!
Thank you for the inspiration you provide, i still frequently go through your older videos when im feeling a lack of inspiration and they always fix that problem, ive picked up so many little tips and tricks and had so many sparks of inspiration ignite watching these videos and im sure thankful for the resources these videos provide me and other geeky creatives
Thank you very much!
The results are stunning! The pattern reminds me of Saturn!
Thanks man!
Both look awesome, with the screwed up one could make a service tray for droids, or cup coasters would be another great repurpose project. Love the channel also! Look at it this way, made it for something and actually made for some other creation.
Thank you! We actually managed to use the messed up one and didn't have to even make a second one. Just used to additional bracing, and all was well!
This looks excellent; like you contained a gas giant like Jupiter in the bar top. I know that you meant to have it flow over but I like the black edge.
Thanks bud!
Bravo Zulu SmugCo! Looking forward to watching the progress,, yours speed.
Thank you! More to come!
WOW!!!!!!!!! Looks fantastic! Reminds me of the "maw" 🤓
Thank you!
Looks like a Corellian sunset:) Nice job.
It does! Thanks
Makes me think of Kashhyyk Wroshyr wood! I wish i had room in my house for something like this. By the way, we just drove through North Carolina and i was telling my GF about the Phoenix treehouse
Awesome!!
That looks awesome Brian!! I'd be stoked with that for my 1st ever attempt. And, something I like to say to my kids is, in the words of Yoda... 'Failure, our greatest teacher is'.
Awrabesht from Ireland.
Thank you! The next one is even better! Can't wait to show you all!
Ooh!! I look forward to that @@TheSmugglersRoom😉👍
That's the same epoxy we used for our Penny River in my kitchen floor. That looks neat!
So cool! How has it held up for you?
@@TheSmugglersRoom its been about 3 years, we walk on it, chairs dragged across, cats, I mean it is a floor. We are probably going to have to do something to it when we replace the dining room floor, so I'll see how that goes, but Its still in pretty good shape.
Alright! Been waiting for you guys to get back to the bar build.🍺
Thank you! We've been dying to get back to it, and there is so much more to come!
Even with your minor SNAFU, the counter top looks great!
Thank you!
When you first started pouring the colors, I thought you were gonna make it looks like a huge bar or Beskar. I really love how it came out though. Did it meet all of your expectations, no. Will it be a bar top that is completely unique to you and your room? Absolutely.
Funny thing, this is just the back bar, wait until you see what we did with the actual bar you sit at!!!
Well done my friend! Impressive!
Thank you very much!
Interesting bar top to brown for my liking but I learned a few tricks to make my own 😏😅
There are so many colors out there if you try it for yourself!
@@TheSmugglersRoom idea black with 🌌 theme/ black with Neon haven't decided lol
Amazing guys. I've actually been considering this kind of build to remodel my entire kitchen and make a white and grey granite marble style look.
It’s an amazing product. Check out the link to their channel in our description, they really take the guess work out of it.
That came out great! Man I would have been sweating bullets. But epoxy seems like the way to go.
Oh buddy, I was totally sweating bullets!!!
@@TheSmugglersRoom LMAO!! You always keep your cool or hide it very well. :)
Jupiter cloud pattern. I really like that.
Thank you! Cheers!
Love everything you do Brian! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks so much!
Nicely done, looks great and nice choice on the colors. Sorry I forgot to put back that pin for leveling the countertop. Needed a Lil more height to change a landing pad on grogrus cradle. :)
LOL, thank you!
Ooh I'm so excited! It's looking very cool. I can't build my cantina until my partner finishes his work exams and we can afford to extend the dining room though, so I'm fine if you need another two years 😂
LOL, I hope it’s not another two years 🤣. Good luck on yours!
@@TheSmugglersRoom Thank you! 🤣
If you're looking for items to fill the bar then you definitely need to get the copper dimpled mugs and the collapsable metal cups. Forethelore is a great person to turn to for it but Temu actually has some individual items for sale which is better than buying in a bulk depending on how much you want.
Oh sweet! Thank you!
Nice counter-top, love the colors...stay safe!
Thank you! Will do!
Hit me up if you have any questions regarding epoxy. My mentor worked with it a lot and shared some great information on the subject. The countertop looks amazing with some cool color choices too!
Absolutely beautiful work. Looks great.
Thank you so much 😀
loving the progress Brian!
Much appreciated
Wow this looks sooo good! Can't wait for the next videos :D
More to come! Thank you!
Impressive, most impressive.
🤣🤣 thank you
Man, you guys build some great stuff!
Thank you very much!
No mistakes…just happy accidents-Bob Ross.
yup
I think it turned out fantastic!
Thank you
Awesome video and build guys ❤
Thank you my friend!

LoL
Nice teamwork!
Thanks!
I abdolutely love that place!
Thank you!
So awesome.
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh!! SO EXCITING!!!!
Sweet
Groovy job!!!
Thanks!
Love it! Looks amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks gorgeous!!!! Looking forward to seeing what comes next!!! ❤😊❤
Thank you!! 😊
Thanks!
Thank you Jason!
Fantastic results love the color choices!!!
Thanks so much!
Very awesome colors on the counter! Cant wait to see the rest of the build!
Thanks so much!
Always a pleasure watching y'all build neat stuff! Stay awesome!
Thank you!!!
Awsome work guys👍👍
Thank you 😀
amazing stuff . . . I love this video !
Thank you!
This is such a cool channel.
Thank you very much!
So so amazing. Can't wait to see the rest! I have some things that I had in a garage sale/donate pile that you guys have inspired me to pull out as they could make cool items with a little creativity.
That is awesome! Can’t wait to see what you do!
I love stone coat's videos. They are very much eye candy. I think your bar turned out amazing, especially for your first time, Resin is a finicky beast at best lol. Even the most proficient at it have issues sometimes. Resin does what it wants lol. Really looking forward to future videos.
Thank you so much! Those videos they make are certainly fun right? I have no doubt you have seen so much with your work with resin. Appreciate you watching
@@TheSmugglersRoom I've seen a lot of failures with my resin projects, just this week in fact. 😂 Still love it though
Veri nyce wow
Thank you
It is amazing how many tools you have that I do too!
Sweet!!! Love me some tools!!!
The back wall needs a little bit of that Tatooine stucco on it.
LOL, nah . . . This cantina isn’t on Tatooine 😉
@@TheSmugglersRoom would look pretty good as part of a Fat Bantha advertisement.
Awesome!!!!!! Will we be getting any Smuggler's Cantina Special House drinks recipe videos once the bar is completed?
Absolutely
The round over wouldn't have fixed your problem completely. It would help. But, to get a good "waterfall" edge, it helps to create a tape dam around the edges until the resin starts to gel up. Then, remove the tape. The thicker resin will not flow off as fast and end up on the drop cloth instead of on the table/countertop.
You are 100% correct my friend. We didn’t realize that on the back bar countertop, but that is actually what we did on the front bar that you haven’t seen yet. You are right, it worked perfectly!!!
3:39 - Yes!!! Stone Coat! Are you partnering with them? You need a video over on their YT channel/ site with Mitch Quest.
No, not a partnership, just really like their product!
@@TheSmugglersRoom - You might reach out to them. I’m sure Mitch would love to do a segment or something. Might bring fresh eyes to both of you.
The countertop looks really good.
I feel your pain for the surface warping, been there, done that :/
So glad I’m not alone!
Awesome video! Epoxy looks intimidating, but you made it look easy. Nice work!
When the bar’s done can I stop by for a cold one? 🍺
Any time
Alright, promise won’t bring my droids 😃
@@TheBojaboja "We don't serve their kind here."
(can be taken to mean the cantina has no charging stations or other droid services inside.) Star Wars Episode 4.
No no no in the words of Bob Ross “we don’t have mistakes, we have happy accidents”.
🤣
You are quite mad. Don't ever change. What stops the resin from running over the edge? I expected that you'd need a little fence to keep it in.
LOL! Thanks, I wont! You actually want the resin to run over the edge, it is supposed to carry the color over. This one didn't work out, but we recently poured the front bar top and had great success. You'll see how we did that in the coming weeks!
whats your favourite beer?
It was Fat Tire, now looking for another Amber since they changed their recipe
Was that German I heard your wife speaking?
She speaks a tad
These projects never have anything to do with STAR WARS.... save for perhaps Disney's versions... which aren't STAR WARS.
Interesting . . . So you’ve watched every single episode on our 4 years of building stuff on the channel and have NEVER seen anything to do with Star Wars huh? Interesting, very interesting.
IG 88 head used on the bar looks pretty Star Wars to me.. You seen the movies right? They are pretty good, you should check em out, quite popular as a franchise, in fact your account image is a stormtrooper, they are in the movies too... I think Brian watches too (as most of his channel and episodes are heavily inspired by them…)
