This seems to be a beautiful place. It doesn't seem to be agitated and frantic like most western cities. Also the relative lack of advertising and vehicles seems to create a more calm and relaxed vibe.
It helps being the capital of a relatively well-off but still rather overlooked country, and not being a major economic capital. It’s one of those semi-hidden gems that has that charm only hidden gems tend to have.

Was there last week for the first time and I'm impressed.. beautiful city and architecture, greenery all around, calm streets, large river Daugava, seagulls flying above.. made me so relaxed every evening.. didn't want to leave and hopefully, I'll visit RIGA once again :)

It's actually not a background sound of Riga , has never spotted a single word in latvian . It's just a recorded loop of random noises anywhere in Europe .
