One detail about the women who bought and prepared the spices was that many point to two scriptures that they say contradict each other.
Mark 16:1 describes them buying the spices after the sabbath and Luke 23:55,56 says they prepared the spices before the sabbath.
You may already know the solution but obviously the day they bought and prepared the spices had to be on Friday. (the day after the High sabbath and the day before the weekly sabbath) so they were prepared to go to the grave at dawn on Sunday (since they couldn't do anything on Saturday, sabbath) before the body could decompose. This really helps to clear up that perceived contradiction and really adds weight to the Wednesday crucifixion. PS We can now nail down an exact day/month/year when He was crucified by extrapolating when Nisan 14 lands on a Wednesday!
There's only one year that that happens, and that's 30 AD April 3 Gregorian calendar. There's so much more we can calculate for dates if we know the exact day of His crucifixion, ie The year of His birth etc. God bless your ministry.

Thank you. I tried to show that on my chart and with the scriptures. Some people don't realize there was a "free" day where the people could do whatever they wanted as soon as the high sabbath ended Thursday night at 6 p.m. and went all day Friday - because the Friday/Saturday sabbath doesn't start till Friday night at 6 p.m.
So yes, the people are free to move around and do what they wanted, and could even go visit the tomb, buy spices, or do whatever they wanted. But even in that, they wouldn't be able to actually touch the body, because the tomb was under seal and armed guard by the soldiers preventing them from accessing the tomb.

    • @davidmcbrine4527
      @davidmcbrine4527 3 года назад

@@TheoHeartsill The “free” day was actually a “preparation” day since the day before each sabbath was a day to prepare for the sabbath ie. remove all leaven from their homes etc. So I’m sure those women were very busy on that day.

On the "Preparation day" before the Sabbath, The Sabbath keepers betrayed, persecuted, denied and nailed and hung Lord of the Sabbath. All of this is confirmed by the Apostle Rock taught in Acts 3: Speaking to the Sabbath keepers from the Temple of the Jews!
      Acts 3:
12 And when Rock (Peter) saw it, he answered unto the people, *Ye men of Israel* , why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; *whom YOU delivered up, and DENIED him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.*
      14 *But YOU denied the Holy One and the Just, and *desired a MURDER* to be granted unto YOU;
15 *And KILLED the Prince of life,* whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Yep, the Sabbath keepers condemned and murdered the "Lord of the Sabbath" while desiring a murderer. You can't make these things up!
There is something very prophetic in that part of "desiring a murderer" .

Just a couple of comments about Jewish feast days as you call them. They are not Jewish feasts or festivals. God himself calls these days the feasts of the LORD. The Hebrew word for feasts is moed and is more correctly translated appointed times. These are God’s holy set apart appointed times that God commanded all 13 tribes of Israel to observe not just the Jews. The name Jews if applied correctly should technically only refer to the tribe of Judah. There are actually 7 holy days or God’s appointed times listed in Leviticus 23 and they are all high sabbaths. You also said The Day of Atonement was not a sabbath which is incorrect. It is a sabbath per Leviticus 23:(32) and also a day of affliction or fasting and no food or water is permitted so no food preparation is needed. The Day of Atonement is considered to be the highest of the high sabbaths. The other high sabbaths are feast days so food preparation is permitted.

2: Last Day of Unleavened Bread:
3: Feast of Weeks or Pentecost:

Thank you very much for this detailed video and its graphically and comprehensively clear presentation - that must have been a lot of work! However, I was left with several questions after this video that I wish you had discussed a bit more. While I really liked that you spent a lot of time explaining the basis for your reasoning (such as the OT understanding of the length of days, etc.), I also thought that some of your conclusions seemed a bit rushed and not compellingly logical from what you had previously explained. For example, after explaining that the Feast of First Fruits must fall on a Sunday (which is all perfect and makes biblical and logical sense), you then jump to your table of days and simply assigned Nisan 18 to Sunday (around the 38:18 time mark). But Nisan 16 could just as easily be assigned to Sunday if the regular Sabbath and the "High Sabbath" simply fell on the same day that year (see more on this below).
Here are the questions that came up while I was watching. I would appreciate it if someone could answer them 🙂
    1. In many of the Wednesday-crucifixion theory videos, I miss mention, let alone thorough discussion, of Luke 24:21, which clearly speaks of Sunday as the third day after Jesus' crucifixion, given the context of the entire passage and dialogue. This would clearly make Friday the day of the crucifixion. In some comments on other videos, I kept reading that "on the third day" in Greek literally means "three days had passed" - tbh, I have no idea where this misconception comes from. (Side note: Lk 24:21 is actually quite difficult to translate because it is not clear to which subject the finite verb ἄγει belongs. Also, the following prepositional relative clause beginning with ἀφʼ οὗ is not easily connected to the preceding clauses, since οὗ does not grammatically allow for ἡμέραν as an antecedent, as many translations imply). How does Lk 24:21 fit into the Wednesday-curcifixion theory?
    2. I also miss a more open and less predetermined discussion of Jn 19:31. This verse need not imply that the day after Jesus' crucifixion was a Sabbath other than the regular Saturday Sabbath. It simply says that "the day of that Sabbath was great". It may well be that the 15th of Nisan and the Saturday Sabbath were the same day in that year.
    3. There is no direct account of two different Sabbaths in any of the Gospels; given how meticulously the Evangelists seem to have tried to record the events surrounding Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, it surprises me that none of them speak in clear terms of a crucifixion-->Sabbath-->regular (or free) day-->Sabbath-->first day of the week sequence, but rather a crucifixion-->Sabbath-->first day of the week sequence.
    4. How can the 10th of Nisan (the identification/selection of the Passover lamb) be Sunday if the 14th of Nisan is Wednesday? In an earlier comment by @johnbryant1341, I saw that @TheoHeartsill admitted that he did not have a good explanation for this. Does anyone else have a good one?
Given the many biblical difficulties with the Wednesday-crucifixion theory, I personally would rather stick with church tradition, which as early as the second century, as recorded in one of the writings of St. Justin the Martyr, considered Friday to be the day of Jesus' crucifixion and celebrated it as such (1. Apology, cp. 67). Yes, I also believe very strongly in Scripture and its truthfulness. But I, like others, would rather begin by questioning what Jesus meant by "the heart of the earth" in Mt 12:40 than necessarily question a 2000 year old tradition.

To be in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights, Yeshua had to be resurrected 72 hours after he was put in the tomb. If he was put in the tomb before sundown, which would then start the high holy day (1st day of unleavened bread), then he would need to be resurrected at that same time right before the weekly Sabbath ended.
I also want to talk about the crucifixion and resurrection. First in reference to the crucifixion, you had mentioned Exodus 12:6 where they are to kill the lamb at evening. That Hebrew word for "evening" has a few different meanings. For example, "evening," "twilight," "between the two evenings," etc. There have been different ideas of what this really means. If you look at what happened during the crucifixion, you'll see why I like the phrase "between the two evenings." At the third hour (9 am), Yeshua was crucified (Mark 15:25). From the sixth hour (noon) to the ninth hour (3 pm), darkness was over the land (Mark 15:33). At the ninth hour (3 pm), Yeshua died Mark 15:34-37). On this particular Passover, there were literally two evenings, the first one that started at noon because of the darkness and the second one that started at sundown (6 pm). So, Yeshua was literally killed between the two evenings.
Second, I want to say something about the resurrection taking place just before the weekly Sabbath ended. There was a tradition or ritual that Israelite farmers went through before they could do the actual barley harvest. This is mentioned in the Jewish Mishnah Menahot. These are not exact quotes, but you'll get the idea.
"According to historical records, the Israelite farmer had to first harvest a sheaf (Omer) of barley from his field and take it to the priest. This was the premier or very first and best part of his barley crop. The Jews did this in the closing or twilight hours of the Sabbath-the day before the Feast of Firstfruits."
"The second-century Mishnah affirms that, when the Sadducees controlled the Temple, the sickle was put to the grain just as the sun was going down on the weekly Sabbath."
The Bible nowhere indicates that the priests understood the ritual they were performing at the close of the Sabbath when Yeshua, the archetypical wavesheaf, was “harvested” from the physical world by being resurrected from the dead. On the following morning, as the firstborn of many brethren, He ascended to God’s throne to be accepted by the Father.

When Jesus was risen, and Mary come into contact with him at the tomb he told her not to cling to him as he HAD NOT ASCENDED TO HIS FATHER, HIS
GOD AND ALSO HER GOD AND FATHER. This seems to me that he had not ascended at this time. I believe it was after Penecost that he went to to the faather and sat down at His right hand. However I could be wrong, as I have heard that he appeared to angels. I am perplexed regarding this time frame.

A couple of questions I have: Why did the women wait until Sunday to go to the tomb to anoint Jesus' body when they could have done that on Friday? According to Luke 24:21, Cleopas and his companion met Jesus on Sunday and said it had been three days since all these things had happened. To me these point to a Thursday crucifixion. I accept almost everything except the requirement for a full 72 hours. God bless and thanks.

Bravo sir. A very comprehensible Biblical timeline of all the events of note. The Sabbath though, like any other day begins and ends at sunset every week. This is not just when the “Jews” day begins, it’s how God numbers and calculates His day for times and seasons (Genesis 1:14). This is how man was to calculate the Holy Days God gave him. 6:00pm is an average or approximate general time of day but sunset is the mark to go by., not the first star that appears. That’s a Jewish corruption of the commandment (Mark 7::7-9). It’s also very important to note that the days of the week timeline you so expertly just laid out took place in the year 31 AD. So the Church of God that began in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4) was not in 33 AD.

Thank you Theo for a great study.
There are three problems with this view.
    1. The Passover lamb was eaten on the 15th of Abib, on the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread in the evening. The lamb was eaten with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Not the 14th! Ex 12:8. Luke 22:1
    2. The double Sabbath prevented the women from returning to the grave to finish the balming. Which is not possible with the Wednesday crucifixion proposal. The simple fact that the woman would have returned on the Friday to finish the balming is the evidence that eliminates the Wednesday crucifixion narrative all together.
    3. The mathematics are crooked and is manipulated to equal 72 hours. The three hours on Wednesday is ignored and the fourth night in the grave is not counted.
The Friday crucifixion does not satisfy Matt 12:40, which only accounts for two days and two nights, and that leaves only Thursday as the crucifixion day.
Now if someone dies on Monday at 9pm, the death certificate will simply state that the person died on Monday. The fact that the person was only dead for three hours is irrelevant.
Therfore counting the days and nights from Thursday, including the 3 hours of Thursday gives us exactly three days and three nights.
It also conforms to how Matt 12:40 describes 3 days before 3 nights.
PS. the 21st of Abib was also a annual Sabbath.
    Shalom

Thank you for your kind comments. I wish I could copy a graph in here, but let me try to line some things in a text based chart to hopefully show what I'm saying: (Highlights and caps are for emphasis, not shouting)
The bible says that Jesus was put in the grave basically right at dark. They were having to work super fast to try and make it happen.
Lets say for easy figuring, that by the time they shut the door and officially sealed the tomb was *Wednesday at 6 pm* .
So *Wednesday evening/night at 6 PM is where the 1st minute STARTS* .
1 day 2 day 3 day RISE from the Grave
      !-------------------------! !------------------------! !--------------------------!
      Wed Thur Friday Sat
      6 pm 6 pm 6 pm 6 pm
*1st day ends Thursday 6 pm* (24 hours)
*2nd day ends Friday 6 pm* (24 more hours)
*3rd day ends Saturday 6 pm* (24 more hours)
That's a total of 72 hours AND, t *he Jewish new day (Sunday, 1st day of the week) starts Saturday evening at 6:01 pm* . *So what we today consider to be Saturday evening was actually Sunday "morning" in ancient Israel* .
3 gospels record that when the women came to the tomb he was already risen and gone. Meaning more than likely Jesus was probably risen long before Sunday morning breaking of dawn (sunlight).
Only 1 gospel says it was the breaking of dawn.
Hope that clarifies my position and thank you for being kind. God bless.

Thanks for your reply, it would have been better if we could talk.
I know how much time goes into preparing a video like this, so again, I am not here to distract from your work.
But hopefully it will make you think again.
I understand the 72-hour principal and have been studying this for many years.
However, I hope that you can clearly understand the 3 points I have presented. There is more.
The one you should focus on is #2. Why did the woman not finish the burial on Friday?
The reason why the women only returned on Sunday was because it was a double Sabbath between the crucifixion and the resurrection.
You need Friday to be an annual Sabbath, but nowhere can we get three Sabbaths in a row in the Hebrew calendar.
      Do you see the problem?
Then, to hold on to the 12 hour day/night as the unit of measure is simply not true.
You know it can also mean part of a day or night and still satisfying the Scripture.
The rest of the Scriptures actually strongly suggest Friday but can still be stretched to Thursday, but not Wednesday.
‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day, I shall be perfected.’
      Luk.13.32.
Again, I also understood it the same way as u did. However, with His grace I have learned otherwise.
      Shalom

Bro Theo, good presentation. But slightly out of scripture. Remember Yahusha himself said to his disciples, " you know that in 2 days is the passover and the son of man is going to be handed over into the hands of the gentiles to be crucified."
And on the first day of unleavened bread his disciples came to him and said:" where do you want us to prepare the passover meal for us to eat?"
My question is if Yahusha was crucified on passover day, then what day did he eat the passover meal with his disciples?
We must always bear in mind that the life or the principle events of the life of our master Yahusha correspond or are parallel to some of the events that happened to our patriarch Isaac eg. Son of the promise/covenant, both born on the 15th of Sivan "covenant renewal day, feast of weeks, day of Pentecost etc. Our patriach Isaac was to be offered as a burnt offering on the 15th of Abib/Nissan, from thus our father Abraham instituted the seven day feast or feast of unleavened bread. I stand to be corrected if I am wrong, but according to scripture please.

I was arguing with a seventh day Adventist tonight on someone else's show. Adventists believe Ellen white is a prophet, and she believes in a Friday crucifixion. So of course, they believe in it like their lives hang on her every word.
But my question you can maybe help me with, I asked this Adventist: How do you get three days a day 3 nights?
He said it went dark when Jesus died, so that's one night, then regular friday night is another, and Saturday night is the 3rd.
How would you best answer something like that? It caught me off guard with its ridiculousness

Basically like I did in the video, by addressing from the Bible that "day" means a 12- hour period, and "night" means a 12-hour period. So no matter how you slice it, it comes up to 72 hours total. It's shocking how many people go through incredible mental gymnastics to try to make the Friday crucifixion work, when the scriptures themselves don't even agree with it. Not only that, but the word "sabbath" was plural meaning there was more than one sabbath. The weekly 7th-day Jewish sabbath starts Friday at DARK, and goes till Saturday at DARK, which would only be ONE sabbath! hope that helps

Hi, some issues I have with your explanation :
The women would go to the tomb on friday. No reason to wait until sunday morning.
He has risen on the 4th day
If you believe the Bible says he rose sunday morning and not saturday evening it would be 4 nights.
No time to judge and crucify Jesus on the same day (the hours that are mentioned prove this cannot be in 1 day)
Why you changed your calander? First the 1st day, 22st and 50th day are on sundays (37:00) but in next picture it's sunday the 18th ?
Anyway, thank you very much for this study.
I see a different explanation in every video and I've made up my own a long time ago that is completely different from all others.
But this view of the sundays on the 1st and 50th day I find very interesting.
We all thing we know the truth but this one is really hard.
Thses are some of my own puzzle pieces :
    There are 2 feasts : the 14th and 21st.
They sacrifice the lamb the 14th. They leave the 15th, and the 21th they go though the red sea.
In the middle of the week they take the road south, the road to death when Pharaoh believes they are lost in the desert.
I say the 21st is the ressurection. And crucifixion is at the middle of the week.
Pilate and Herodes take a few days to decide what to do with Jesus.
Preparation is 3 days before the 14th and 3 before the 21st, just like preparation at Sinaï.
The entrance in Jerusalem could be exacly 7 days before crucifixion.
Last supper and breaking the bread with the 2 that went to Emmaus is both on a sunday, 7 days apart.
I'm still hesitating between 2,5 days and 3,5 days. There are a few arguments for both.
It's not just a problem of days but also hours. He has risen in the morning, but he died in the afternoon.
I could say that a day that started counts (to accept less then 72 hours).
But also I could say that Jesus spirit didn't descend to hell directly after his physical death.
The problem with 3,5 is that it makes it the ressurection on the 4th day.
That's why I'm probably going with a thursday.

When his disciples were on the road to Emmaus they said it was the 3rd day since" these things " had occurred which included the arrest to the sealing of the tomb.
Holyspirt word is perfect we just need to study and obey.
Messiah fulfilled his sign and the holydays show Yahs plan of salvation for mankind.

How could it if the 72hrs is true. He has to leave the tomb exact time he entered if not it is in the 4th day.He was buried before the Sabbath started.
Now when Jesus was risen, early the first day of the week while it was still dark.....

I haven't dug into it too much, but right off the top of my mind, several things:
First, the sabbath days journey was a man-made restriction and is not a restriction from God in the law or the 10 commandments.
Second, Jesus was staying at Bethany which was a mile or two from Jerusalem. Jesus was staying with Mary, Martha and Lazarus, and we have no historical record of where their house was in Bethany. It may have been on the side closest to Jerusalem and the temple.
Third, the Bible says Jesus was without sin, so that by itself shows he did not break Gods true law or he would have been a sinner.

@ Greg - You posted 'the Jews considered a part of a day as a full day'. Yes that was a Jewish casual way of referring to days. Was that how Jesus was referring to the time he would be in the grave? Your whole belief of how long Jesus was in the grave is based on this Jewish custom. So let's look at the scriptures to see if Jesus was referring to the Jewish custom. As Christians we must yield to the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. First we establish what a day and a night is in Gods eyes. Read Gen 1:5,8,13,19,23,31 - establishes that a day and a night equals one day. Therefore a night is 12 hours and the day is 12 hours. Total of 24 hours for a day. Now read Jonah 1:17 - Jonah was in the fish 3 days and 3 nights. Now read the words of Jesus Matt 12:40, 16:21, 17:23. Also Mark 10:34, Luke 9:22, 18:33, 24:7,46. Also John 2:19-21. The Matt 12:40 is the most irrefutable proof Jesus said 3 days and 3 nights. How long a day and a night is established in the Genesis account. It is clear as crystal Jesus was in the grave for 72 hours! Just as our Lord said he would be.
Did you watch this vid posted by Theo? No Christian can take the scriptural evidence presented and still think Christ died on a Friday to be resurrected a day and a half later. Theo did an excellent thorough job of scriptural proof. You have NO scriptural proof!
I read the debate between you and David McBrine. He also did an excellent job of explaining how there were 2 Sabbaths the week Jesus died. Read Lev ch 23 to learn about the dates of Passover and the Sabbaths connected to the Feasts in addition to the regular Saturday Sabbath.
Watch this vid from beginning to end. Pray for Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you. A willingness to correct a view is a Christian quality of humility.
I have no doubt you are a saved Christian, you will not lose your salvation due to this wrong belief. But if you resist the Holy Spirit God will not be pleased. When the Holy Spirit teaches something THREE TIMES we must listen. 1- Theo , 2- David McBrine , 3- Betty the ex-JW.

Anybody trying to get around that is simply trying to hold onto man-made tradition that ONLY knew the Friday night sabbath - and doesn't even have a clue that there was a HIGH SABBATH on the day after Passover.

Someone has made the comment that the crucifixion took place in AD 30, but that date does not fit into Luke's statement that John Baptist began his ministry in the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar. (this was the twelve months running from August AD 28 to August AD 29).
Furthermore, this video tries to make the case for a Wednesday crucifixion, but by looking at the Hebrew calendar for the years AD 30 - 33 will show that this cannot be the case.
Jesus was 6 months younger than John and was crucified at Passover, in the spring, when he was 33½ years old.
It follows therefore, that Jesus must have been 30 years old in the autumn three years earlier, and that date was 6 months after John had begun his ministry, which must therefore have been in the spring of AD 29.
Is anyone going to argue against the facts of Scripture and of history?

That is why in all of the gospels' accounts, there is no mention of a day between the 2 sabbaths, or the women would have gone to the tomb on Friday since it was not a sabbath day.. .. Also, your timeline ultimately hinges on whether 3 days and 3 nights is a literal 72 hours, which I do not believe is the case.. ..Also, the gospel of Luke 23.21 tells us that Sunday was the 3rd day, but if there was a Saturday resurrection, then Sunday would be the fourth day, which does not line up w/ scripture.. .. So, I believe the 72 hour requirement is false.. Jesus' phrase *_In the Heart of the Earth_* does not mean he was dead for three days.. I believe the timelines between Jonah and Jesus parallel in this fashion.. Jonah 2.1 *_Jonah prayed to God out of the fish's belly_* AND Jesus prayed to God from the Garden alone in darkness in pure agony sweating blood, that angels came to minister to him.. What if he was crucified on a monday-tuesday as the 14. aviv (death at the 9th hour on tuesday). What if he was crucified on a tuesday-wednesday as the 14. aviv (death at the 9th hour of wednesday). And so on?
    And what about:
There are three short, simple and clearly defined words: "μια των σαββατων" (mia ton sabbaton). They appear in 4 Bible passages: Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1; John 20:1; Acts 20:7 (compare Acts 16,13) and in John 20:19 in the Textus Receptus. In addition, there are two Bible passages with the short version "μια σαββατων" which are John 20:19 and 1Cor 16:2. Nevertheless, these are the most reinterpreted words in human history. The word "μια" means "one" (and not first = πρωτη = prote , Mk 16:9), "των" means "the" and "σαββατων" means "sabbath" (singular) or "sabbates" (plural). It's all very easy to understand. It became a worldwide translation chaos in that they simply made up completely new definitions for these 3 words. Sabbath can NEVER mean "week", "Lord's day" or "Sunday", because in ancient Greek there have always been equivalent words for this. So the translation into any language should be very simple : "[on] one of the Sabbaths " or "[on] one of the Sabbath days " or "[on] a Sabbath".
Why does it in these passages mean something other than the sabbath in the 80 other passages which has "sabbaton" . Can someone explain? "Mia ton sabbaton" can never mean "after the sabbath", "first day of the week", "lords day" or "sunday" etc.

Absolutely right! It is misleading to tell people that Sunday was not the third day. It is wresting God's Word. I would encourage people to read 2Chron.10:5,12; Gen.40:18-20; Esther4:15; 5:1. These scriptures demonstrate that part of a day is a day. Thus "third day" should not be 25 hours before we can say it is a day. The presentation was excellent until it came to this point.

Sir, with all respect: you said that the entrance of Jesus on the donkey happened on SUNDAY and that was according to Exodus 12 on the 10th Nisan - so:
    10th = 1st day of Jew week/Sunday
    11th = 2nd day
    12th = 3rd day
    13th = 4th day
    14th = 5th day
    15th = 6th day
    16th = 7th day
    17th = 1st day of Jew week/Sunday
We all know that the entrance into Jerusalem happened on Palm Sunday and that the resurrection happened a week later on a Sunday as well..... resurrection could therefore not have happened on the 18th for that was the 2nd day of the Jewish week.

Israel left Egypt the next morning on 15-Nisan (now also Sabbath). it DOES matter what time Jesus got out of the tomb. He got out at the exact time of day he was put IN the tomb. The Jews calculated the day from sunset to sunset. He was put in Just before sunset on a Wednesday. 1 day and one night would be just before sunset the next day and so on. The resurrection was NOT on a Sunday at all. THAT is Catholic doctrine. A sunday resurrection is a great fiction. The stone was not rolled away so Jesus could get out, it was rolled away so people could see IN.

You may have missed the scriptures in the beginning that Jesus said that he would be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights and also Jesus Christ himself said there are 12 hours in a day. I even show in the Greek the distinction between the word for day and night, showing beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were talking about day and night - and if there's 12 hours in a day, then there's 12 hours in a night.
      Matthew 12:39-40 KJV
      (39) But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and
there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

      John 11:9 KJV
      (9) Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day [G2250].
In regards to the sign of Jonah - I don't know of a single scholar that thinks Jonah was only in the great fishes'' belly for 1.5. All agree he was in there for 3 complete 24 hour days, for a total of 72 hours. That was the very sign Jesus said would prove he was the Messiah.

@@TheoHeartsill ...Theo...thank you for your response...quickly too! I am in N.E. Ohio and am not certain of any time zone differences...but again, thank you.
So, is this an admission from you that there are no verse(s) where Jesus says..."72 hours"? After all, that was my question to you, wasn't it? I think we all (I would imagine) are aware of a 24 hour construct to a "full day". Yet, that was not what you said, neither what I asked you for. Now, when we "add" something to scripture, there is a terminology for that process, in case that reference doesn't come to your mind right now, it is called...REWRITE OF SCRIPTURE.
The scriptures are exact, precise and GOD-breathed...that is why we fail in our understanding of them...WHEN...we add to the text...what we think should apply, instead of what is written .
You are correct that it could not be a Friday/Sunday set of events, I could not agree more. We do know that the offering of the "first fruits", took place early of the morning, the day following the Sabbath. As we serve an "unchanging GOD", this is done as a "action" that mimics how it applies to Christ. Which is clearly outlined in the N.T. letters.
Therefore, the resurrection cannot transpire of the evening...it must transpire of the morning...early.
      Bless

Let me repeat. The scriptures I used in in Jesus' own words are there are 12 hours in a day, and I showed that was the Greek word for the daylight hours of a day. And then I showed the separate Greek word for the 12 hours of the night.
      So biblically according to Jesus:
      Three 12 hour days is 36 hours (12 x 3 = 36)
      Three 12 nights is 36 hours (12 x 3 = 36)
      For a grand total of 3 days + 3 nights = 72 hours (36 + 36 = 72)
And Jesus said the only sign he would give to be the Messiah is that he would be in the grave for 3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS (36 daylight hours, and 36 nighttime hours).
if there's 36 hours in the three 3 days, and 36 hours in the 3 nights ---- then that means there is 72 hours of total time of being in the grave and that is simple math.
I've replied to you the best I can, and I trust you can see that Jesus said he would be in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights and that is Biblically 72 hours. This will probably be my last response to this post as I cannot state it any more plain that the video and my several posts. Sorry if that is not sufficient for you. God bless and thank you.

Yahweh didn't mean the evening and morning was the first day. If you said that, you would be ignoring the work he did on the first day which was separating night from day. Yahweh was only saying the evening capped or closed the first Day. The morning started the second day. Don't you agree Yahweh separated the night from day on the first day and created the firmament on the second day? If so, you can't say the second morning starts the first day. It was the beginning of the second day. Also note there are only two places in Leviticus 23 where Yahweh told the Hebrews to reckon the day from even to even. That was Passover Leviticus 23:5 and Day of Atonement Leviticus 23:27-32.
Before the Babylonian captivity, the Hebrews kept their days from morning to evening. I haven't found any scripture for that yet but I do know the Babylonians kept their days from morning to morning. The Hebrews were already doing morning to morning and continued to do so during their captivity in Babylon. It wasn't until after the Greeks conquered the Hebrews that they were Hellenized and reckoned the day from evening to evening according to the Greeks reckoning. That's a historical fact you can easily research.
You've said yourself at least a couple times in the first 8 minutes of the video a day is 12 hours in the day and 12 hours in the night. Why would you contradict that and say a day is evening (12 hour night) and morning (12 hour day)? I know this is going to twist your brain. Mine two when I first learned this. Other than the things I mentioned, this is a great teaching. It confirmed a lot of the things the Holy Spirit had shown me in my studies. One other small thing. You mentioned Yeshua gave up the ghost at the 9th hour which is 3:00pm. This is the same time of the evening sacrifice in the temple. Yeshua was sacrificed (crucified) at the same time of the evening sacrifice. There is another parallel I just thought of as well. Remember you stated the Hebrews kept the lamb in their house from the 10 and would sacrifice it on the 14th of Nisan? In other words they kept the lamb for 4 days before they sacrifice it. Well if you reckon 1000 years as a day with 7000 total history on earth, Yahweh kept his lamb Yeshua in his house (Heaven) 4 days (4,000 years) and the sent him to earth to be sacrificed on the 4th day (4000th year).

  • @michaelbrandt4433

Wrong. For example, the 7th day Sabbath according to the law of Exodus 20, is different from the ceremonial or feast sabbaths, see Lev 23:38.
The 7th day Sabbath is the definite article THE, which is a specific day. The other sabbaths of the feast days could fall on any day of the week, but if it falls on the 7th day Sabbath, it is called a high day, which happened to be over the weekend Jesus was crucified. In Luke 23 and Luke 24, it identifies also which Sabbath is the true Sabbath and the false sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week, changed by the Roman Catholic church from the 7th day (Saturday) to Sunday the first day of the week. Another issue is the reckoning of time. A day is calculated from sunset to sunset. Sunset don't occur at 6pm all the time, it moves as the cycle of the moon moves, so it can happen for example from 5pm in winter to about after 8pm, depending in what part of the world you are. The Jews had different reckoning of times and seasons. The first month is not January as in the western world, but it is about March/April. They had a system in which they divided the day in 12 hours, see John 11:9, starting at 6am to 6pm. From 6am to 12 noon is reckoned as day and from 12noon to 6pm is reckoned as night. Therefore the evening sacrifice was at 3pm. So the Jewish system is different from the other systems in the world. And also u must take into consideration that everything in the Bible is not literal, some things are figuritive, others symbolic, still others parables, idioms, metaphors, paradoxes, etc.
When the Bible says that Jonah was in the heart of the earth, it doesn't necessarily have to be that Jonah was 3 nights and 3 full days in the earth. The three days and 3 nights refers to Jesus days from the time of His suffering in Gethsemane when He sweat blood that Thursday night. I have many more to say but.......
That's enough for now,. If you can't see thf light then you are obviously blind or deceived

At 49:50 you say it does not matter to you when Jesus comes out of the tomb! But it should matter to you, your whole presentation is all about how long He stays in the tomb. That's what your viewers want to hear. Odd that you do not hold to the same view as other Wednesday proponents hold to and that He came out of the tomb around 6pm Saturday as @thisbusinessofmusic1276 does. If you think He is in the tomb longer than 72 hours then that destroys the whole theory, doesn't it? Are you taking this stance because if you did take the 6pm Saturday view you would not be able to reconcile the fact that you would have Jesus wandering around aimlessly for around 12 hours (6pm-6am) before He meets with Mary Magdalene. As you have correctly pointed out He has yet to ascend to heaven as Mary could not touch Him John 20:17. So what was He doing for those 12 hours?

The special Sabbath day stated in John 19:31 which called a high day Sabbath was still celebrated by the Jews during the 7th day of the week (Saturday) and not other day like Thursday. It is always the 7th day of the week.
The Bible still clearly indicate that Jesus died on FRIDAY afternoon during the Preparation Day which is before the weekly Sabbath (Saturday) based on Luke 23:44-54 and Jesus rose early morning of SUNDAY on the first day of the week (Mark 16:9 and Mark 16:2).
Mark 16:9 and Mark 16:2 indicate that Jesus rose very early morning or dawn of Sunday. Luke 24:19-21 also indicate that Jesus rose ON the third day meaning DURING the first day of the week.
Matthew 12:40 did not say that Christ will be inside the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights. The words IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH can mean CAPTURED for 3 days and 3 nights just like Jonah was captured by the big fish for 3 days and 3 nights. Jesus was captured night of Thursday, tortured during the day of Friday, crucified from 9am of Friday and died at 3pm of Friday and before 6pm of Saturday(Jesus must be in the tomb before the start of Sabbath, before sunset of Friday.
Jesus was betrayed and captured on Thursday night, then Friday day, then Friday night, then Saturday night, then Sunday day at dawn Jesus rose early in the morning (Mark 16:9, Mark 16:2).
So, I still believe Jesus died at 3pm of Friday, 6th day of the week(the Preparation Day before the weekly Sabbath-7th Day of the week) based on Luke 23:44-54 and based on Mark 16:9 Jesus rose very early in the morning of Sunday(part of the 1st day of the week), which is the third day since the crucifixion of Christ based on Luke 24:19-21 and Luke 24:1-3.
    My explanation is written below.
    The SIGN of
3 days and 3 nights versus
the terms ON THE THIRD DAY
    and AFTER 3 DAYS.
These verses below should not contradict and relay an important rule of counting a day by the Jews:
Matthew 12:40---Jesus will be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.
    Esther 4:16---for 3 days(night or day)
    Esther 5:1---on the third day
Matthew 28:1-Resurrected at dawn of the first day of the week(Sunday)
Matthew 26:61-His body will be revived within or in 3 days (resurrected in 3 days)
Matthew 27:40---IN 3 DAYS (resurrected in 3 days)
Matthew 27:63---AFTER 3 DAYS (resurrected after 3 days)
Luke 9:22---ON THE THIRD DAY (resurrected on the 3rd day)
Luke 24:5-7----ON THE THIRD DAY (resurrected on the 3rd day)
Luke 24:19-21---IT IS THE THIRD DAY since the crucifixion of Christ (resurrected on the 3rd day)
These verses above are some of the Bible verses used as basis that the phrases
    "on the third day",
    "it is the third day",
    "in 3 days",
    "after 3 days", and
"3 days and 3 nights" which refer to Christ's death and resurrection MEAN THE SAME in the Bible.
Websites as references for further study:
    bible.org/question/were-three-days-and-three-nights-jesus-was-grave-full-72-hours
    www.amazingfacts.org/media-library/book/e/81/t/three-days-and-three-nights
    www.gotquestions.org/sign-of-Jonah.html
Christ was in the grave NOT in exact and literal 3 days & 3 nights because the Bible also says that Christ rose ON THE THIRD DAY.
The phrase ON THE THIRD DAY is an evidence that the third day was NOT exact 24 hours and Jesus resurrected on or during the third day.
Based on Luke 23:54-56, the women prepared spices during the Preparation Day(FRIDAY) before Sabbath(Saturday) and also Mark 16:1-2 said they bought spices after Sabbath(Saturday), which is before verse 2 that speaks about the next day which is the 1st day(Sunday) of the week, to anoint Jesus body after Sabbath which is in the morning of Sunday but they found the tomb empty already.
So, I believe that Jesus died on the cross at 3pm of Friday just before evening and Jesus rose early morning of Sunday.
The verses in Esther 4:16 and Esther 5:1 prove that the term 3 days and 3 nights, on the third day and after 3 days mean the same since Jews considered part of the day(24-hours) as 1 day based on the verses above.
That is the reason why I still believe in the popular belief passed on by the early Christians to us basing on how Jews treat part of a day as one day.
This is the reason why the early disciples of Christ meet together in worship, in prayer, and in breaking of bread every first day of the week which is Sunday based on their activities written in the book of Acts. I don't believe the early Christians were wrong in their interpretation of the Bible that Christ's body died on Friday and rose early morning of Sunday.
The Bible is worthy of belief.
    Jesus is alive.

      Matthew 12:40 KJV
"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the earth."
How can anybody read that and not figure out it's a period of 72 hours? 3 days and 3 nights is 72 hours. Church tradition says Jesus was crucified on Friday night because they didn't understand there was 2 different sabbaths that week. Jesus himself said the sign of his whole messiahship was hinged on the fact he would be in the grave 72 HOURS... NOT 36 hours.
however you want to figure it and whatever day you want to put it - you still have to have 3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS.

@@TheoHeartsill Jesus did not clearly say in Matthew 12:40 that He will be inside the grave or tomb for exactly 72 hours because the heart of the earth can mean captured in the center of all nations which is Jerusalem (Ezekiel 5:5). A Jewish tomb is a cave on top of a land on earth not inside the earth.
If you would insist that Jesus was saying in Matthew 12:40 that He will rise after exactly 72 hours inside the grave, you are wrong because Jesus clearly said in Luke 9:22 that He will rise again ON THE THIRD DAY not after 72 hours or after exactly three 24-hours day. Remember, the angels also said in Luke 24:7 that Jesus rose ON THE THIRD DAY not after exactly 72 hours. Remember the other two disciples also remembered and confirmed that Jesus rose ON THE THIRD DAY(Luke 24:21).
The clearest verse is Mark 16:9 telling us that Jesus rose EARLY MORNING of SUNDAY, first day of the week not on the 7th day of the week. This tells us that the third day is Sunday, the second day was Saturday, and the first day of crucifixion was Friday. Crucified on the first day(Friday), inside the grave on Saturday (2nd day) and resurrected on the third day (Sunday).
That is why early Christians believe on a Friday crucifixion and Sunday resurrection day and they regularly meet together in prayer, in worship and in breaking of bread every first day of the week (John 20:19, Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 16:2).

    None of the above.
There was no Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday before 321AD because the Calendar got changed gradually between 321 AD until the culmination of the Gregorian calendar in October of 1582 AD.
This Calendar in use today is at variance with the Calendar God established in Genesis 1:14. God appointed the Sun and the moon for seasons, days and years. God's Calendar talks of New Moon Days which mark the beginning of a month when the New Moon appears as a small crescent in the skies, grows bigger into a full moon (mid-month) then disappears gradually into a small crescent again and disappears before the cycle resumes. The first day of God's Calendar is not January 1st but the day of Summer Equinox when the Sun is directly above the equator, somewhere late March to beginning of April. We have a lot to unlearn and relearn because we have been brainwashed with lies taught in our churches and schools!
When you observe the correct Calendar of creation, the discrepancy is quite self-evident. You just need to be very dishonest to deny what your naked eye is able to observe from the Firmament!
It's getting clear from God's Calendar that what we call Saturday Sabbath is not correct. In other words, Saturday is not the Sabbath and Sunday is not the Resurrection day.
We have been duped through lies and traditions passed down during the dark centuries!
Also what we have come to call the Bible is incomplete scripture because many books, especially those that foretold about the global deceptions Satan would achieve through Calendar change, were conveniently removed. This work of deception could not have been achieved by human wisdom alone because it bears all the hallmarks of Satan's handywork of deception at it's ultimate level.
Daniel chapter 7 verse 25 warns of a great Global Religious and political power that would change the Calender, change divine Laws and abolish God's ordained annual feasts, thereby putting a stop to the Daily or God's Sanctuary worship. This is the Abomination that desolates God's Heavenly Sanctuary worship Yeshua (Jesus) warned believers about and challenged the reader to understand!
One of the books that were removed from Scripture is the book of Jubilees, a beautiful book that explained God's Calendar accurately and in details. Jubilees chapter 6:32-38 states how the world would fall away from observing God's Calendar and how the world would lose track of God's New Moon Days, the Sabbaths and observance of God's annual feasts! Is it not ironic that the religious world today observes Easter instead of the Passover? How do you call on God using names of Pagan gods? This is the sin of taking the name of God in vain!
Coming back to the topic, the days of the week throughout holy scriptures are numbered, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 in sync withe New Moons and not on assumption of a continuous weekly cycle. Is it not amazing how simple God's Calendar was made in that the Sabbath dates fell on the same Dates each month, i.e 8, 15, 22 and 29?
Let's expose the error now. Yeshua (wrongly called Jesus) is our Passover Lamb. He died exactly on the 14the Day of the First Month of the year. The following day was the Sabbath the 15th. He was in the grave 3 days and three nights. On which date was He resurrected?

It looks like you are relying on a Hebrew calendar program. Hillel II (do a Google search for him) is regarded as the creator of the fixed perpetual Jewish calendar that these programs are based on which no longer relies on observation (like in the days of Jesus) but a purely mathematical one. This change to the calendar was made after the times of Jesus. The new calendar also has rules in place that would change the start of Rosh Hashanah (1 Tishrei) to prevent Yom Kippur (10 Tishrei) from falling on a Friday or Sunday. This was done so there would not be two days in a row where no work was allowed ie(Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday). This rule also forced 15 Nisan to never fall on a Friday or Sunday. Hence, you will never see Thursday as the 14 Nisan in any of these programs. But the Bible does NOT have these rules in place 14 Nisan can fall on any day of the week there are no restrictions in place using God's Word. If you want to do your own calculation you need to find an excellent lunar calendar that goes back that far (which is normally calculated on Julian dates) then use a Julian date converter to find out what day of the week it is. There is one 14 Nisan that fell on a Thursday, 10 April 27AD

@@mjvanston I think you are right that I used a calendar conversion program that includes the calculation you mentioned, but which has nothing to do with the visible new moon. I am German and use Google Translate to translate into English. Thank you for your correction. I know that the order of the days from day 1 to day 6 and then Sabbath has not changed. What astronomical change it caused by the two sun and moon miracles in Joshua 10:12 Joshua spoke then to the LORD, ⟨and indeed⟩ on the day that the LORD delivered the Amorites before the children of Israel, and said in the sight of Israel: Sun, stand still to Gibeon, and moon, in the valley of Ajalon! Joshua 10:13 The sun stood still and the moon stood still until the people had avenged themselves on their enemies. Isn't that written in the book of Yashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky and did not hurry to set for about a whole day.
Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will cause the shadow ⟨of the sundial to return as many⟩ degrees as the sun has ⟨already gone down⟩ from the degrees on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees back. Then the sun returned ten steps, at the steps which it had gone down.
So far I have not found any sources on how these 2 biblical events affected the calendar. I also don't know how the 3 days of darkness made themselves felt on the calendar
Exodus 10:22 And Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness over all the land of Egypt for three days.

@@Otmar_Schloetterlein Great question. Not 100% sure but my educated guess is that the Joshua and Isaiah miracles you quote would have had little effect on the overall calendar. Yes, it would have interrupted that month, but everything would have been brought back into sync when a new moon was observed. As for the Exodus ninth plague event, I assume they would have been observing an Egyptian calendar and I have no idea how that would be corrected. Maybe someone else could help you there.

Here's a reply i put in your other comments also:
Please understand Saturday night at 6 pm actually started the 1st day of the week (Sunday). Sunday for Jews does NOT start at midnight, NOR at the dawn of the day - it actually started SATURDAY night at 6 pm!
