By end of 2021, possibly months earlier, a high-speed, low latency, satellite-based Internet service called StarLink should be available throughout North America, making it possible to get cable-like broadband speeds in rural areas for about $100 per month, plus the cost of the required pizza box sized antenna (several hundred dollars). This will literally change the landscape all across rural America as anyone will be able to live anywhere (so long as their antenna can see enough of the sky) and still access the world.

Can I say this the reason you have a lot of homeless is because Asheville is not cheap. And all those that are young working 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet could end up on the street at any given time . Unless you come from money then you yourself are only a couple checks from joining those nice folks in that little park downtown. So that being said. That's not a bad thing to have homeless it also says that there are some wonderful folks there who help those nice.filks in the park. So be proud of that

I'm late to the game here but I've lived in Asheville since the early 80s. Everyone moving here is rising up prices for us locals. We work here. We didn't make tons of money and then move here. Housing is ridiculously high. Crime, drugs and homelessness are all major issues here. But anyone trying to sell all these stupid condos that are everywhere and blocking the beautiful mountain views aren't going to tell the negative stories. 🙄

I am wondering one thing and I am not wanting to come off smart , can you tell me if people living here. 10 , 15 , 20 years really consider that time makes them local ?
I know it takes a New Yorker almost 4 years to actually arrive to Asheville . I have seen this myself twice, then they may or may not have the willingness too be local . Many out of state residence take great pride in there being from somewhere else cause local native Ashevillians are capable of excepting face value and earnest people over money.Must not be loud at viewing oppression of women ,or the sight of these things.Asheville is much better but it is certain that these thing have not rapidly changed. The complete opposite somehow co exstist in variety but nobody it to loud .
Visitor could have a great time on the back roads of they can understand certain varieties live next door .
Don't ask me how we do it . It is what it is .
That diversity is quickly diminishing. Even at the price we pay it has been worth knowing what is .
Just saving you are local when you are local , t hats all.

And the comment about a trailer lady please never seen a trailer near a million dollar home like biltmore forrest or the ramble and you made it sound let me anyone that lives in a trailer is less than desirable. 1. No, I don’t miss “my big shopping” as I never lived in the area with big(ger) shopping opportunities. That’s just a fact that we don’t have much shopping here.
      2. Yes, I have seen trailers near million dollar homes. No (as stated in the video) I have nothing against them. There are homes that are falling apart (literally) less than 0.1 mile away from Biltmore Forest (the most expensive neighborhood)

She did mention, she was not against trailer parks, just letting us know the situation exist. Some uppity rich people don't want to drive by that on their way home. I can't picture being that person and how they make it thru life but they do exist and again, she was just warning them in advance since she's a realtor. Thank you for your comment.
Tell me what kind of projected attitude you’re talking about?

@@susanmann5286 I agree with you on most points, but you assume and make conclusions from how I said something about homelessness, and you continue to make even more assumptions about me and my background.
My intent is to never judge anyone but say it how it is. And a lot of things that I mention is because of the feedback/comments I get. So i give the info that I feel like can be useful to others.
