Thank you for reacting to Lucy Thomas’ encore of ‘Hallelujah’ at her first live concert at Stoller Hall in Manchester in March 2024. Lucy sang this after 16 previous songs. She shows that she is better in live than studio recordings. I was at her West End debut at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 22 October 2024. She was absolutely phenomenal! Much better than any studio recording - stunning, amazing, magnificent, beautiful, emotional, emotive. Lucy is the best singer since there have been recordings. She is a master performer without the need for backing videos, dancers, or anything other than an accompaniment and her voice. She had 9 standing ovations and Jeremy Graham critic from Musical Theatre Review gave her a five star review and said that her voice is a once in a lifetime voice if one is lucky.
At the Stoller Hall in Manchester back in March!,this was Lucy's oncore!,anyone who may have had doubts about her performing live now has their answer!,& of course she has performed 2 more concerts since then, the last one in the 'West end' where she received 9 standing ovations & 5* critics reviews!,can't wait to see where 2025 takes Lucy, should be very exiting especially with the release of the musical "Rosie" at long last!.😊
Anyone who ever doubted that Lucy could produce live audio to the standard of her studio recordings has had their doubts quashed. In fact, based on this example and others, her live performances are even better and to see her getting animated with mic in hand for the finishing verse really proved that Lucy has stage presence and knows how to sell a song without resorting to gimmicks such as flashy staging, strutting dance troupes and backing vocalists. When you are this good, you don’t need any of that. Her voice is everything you need.
Quite true, & Lucy on stage is enough for me,but performers that have a lot going on with their stage shows are putting on a performance for the audience, there is room for all types of stage shows & who knows where Lucy's future performances may take her!
@ I saw Lucy on stage at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane with the same piano accompanist and a 32 piece orchestra and very professional staging and lighting. That was a big step forward for Lucy as a live performer and she passed with flying colours. Were you at that concert @johncollins392?
Gimmicks? Did you not hear the backing singers? Although we can't see them , probably because it's the backing track from the official music video .Otherwise a great voice and performance.

Lucy Thomas sounds even better live! .CheersT
An interesting factoid. This was her encore performance at her Manchester concert. Which was I believe her 17th song. Amazing vocal stamina.
👍Outstanding, lovely performance. 🖖❤
