Honestly, I watched a video on Ares probably a little over a week ago, and, even then I was blown away on the idea that you could find Ares' body in Mount Olympus buried under ice and on top of the secret god mode message. Of course, it was probably mostly because I never played much more then mortal hardness before, at least, not a full game worth of either above mortal.

Kaptain Kuba exactly my point. Most of Ares followers were only loyal to Kratos. From my understanding of Greek mythology, Ares only had worshippers in times of war. That’s why there weren’t many, if any, temples dedicated to him. And Spartan armies would never follow a leader who wasn’t also Spartan. I would assume that’s why Kratos had such a large army by the time GoW2 came about.

I do think an Aries battle could have been really well done but the opportunity is lost. I think the phone call Easter eggs are non-cannon because what would be better narratively to bring Aries back then Zeus himself.
