Hahahahaha!! I love the "how many in your party?" with "all of us" as an answer! We were in Disneyland several years ago with a group from the website Laughing Place. When they asked " how many people in your party?" at The Pirates of the Caribbean, our answer was "62". You should have seen the looks on their faces!
I know I am late to the video, but I just have to say that I am blown away by your poise and professionalism. The articulation of your words is a rarity these days among young people. I am 22 and wish I had more employees on my team as conscious of their demeanor as you. You go girl !! I love these Disney guests stories, by the way !! :)
do people like... not read the signs? the jungle cruise is in it's own separate area with a sign that says jungle cruise at the top of the stairs, and another sign that says jungle cruise at the entrance. the tiki room has a _giant_ sign in front of it that says walt disney's enchanted tiki room
When we get to the lines and I see the cast member who asks us "How many?" I always hold up on my fingers cause sometimes you can't hear over the music depending on the lines you go in and it's easier to hold up a number and walk up and when you get to them they tell you where to go.
I was on the culture exchange. I’m from Italy. And the one I got asked all the time was “do you speak English” or the ruder people would ask “do you speak American”
Little late to the party, but have an excellent example of guests not listening. Our last trip we went on Pirates of the Caribbean (Disney California). Of course the CM clearly said “no flash photography” but the people behind us clearly ignored the instructions. Pop pop pop, there’s the flash, ugh. We finally got fed up and said “enough with the camera” over our shoulders. They stopped and they couldn’t leave fast enough.
Just wanted to be a bit weird and say that you're have awesome communication skills. Eloquent, listening, using empathy and understanding. I think it's an underappreciated skill, especially in this time, when there's more communication than ever. But of course Disney appreciates it. 😊 I've been paying too much mind to the vortex of fb comment sections lately... so... yeah, haha. It's refreshing to be reminded of what we should aim for when communicating with others.
Thank you so much! What an amazing compliment! It's wonderful to know that what I'm striving for is coming across in my videos. :) Don't get bogged down in the comments, it's a rough place to be for sure!
When I was a Skipper at Walt Disney World, guest would ask me all the time "Is this where the Jack Sparrow ride is?" (I tried so hard not to give them the biggest eye roll of their life) when I would be at the fast pass station and I would be like "Um, no the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN is over there" and then they would say "Oh that's the Jack Sparrow ride, right?" and I would just point "yes, over there" trying not to cringe as much as possible. This was right when they put him in the ride and I got asked that so often it drove me insane lol never got asked if it was the Tiki Room though haha
Oh my goodness I would've wanted to pull my hair out! Thankfully good ol' Jack had been there a little while once I was a Skipper so people didn't ask about it very often.
haha it was SO annoying. I was glad that he wasn't that much of an eye sore when they added him. I thought it was going to be worse than it ended up being, but it was even more annoying when people were so out of touch that they didn't even know the original name of the ride since it's been there since before they were born lol there were definitely a lot of cringe worthy moments like that with guests lol
Hahahaha! Many years ago when we were at Disneyland, we were walking through New Orleans Square when I heard the guy ahead of me say "Oh, The Pirates of the Caribbean. They must have made that ride because of the movie." My eyes just about rolled out of my head!
I was in a party of 3 walking thru the chain maze for the boat ride at the Mexico pavilion in Epcot. 2 gentlemen in front of us stopped us & asked if we could let the rest of their party past us. Ok, we’re nice but the rest of their party was 6 more people for a total of 8!! If I’m in a party of 8 & we get split up by 3 people,I’d let the 3 people go past me, I wouldn’t ask them to flatten against the wall so 6 people can squeeze by!!
"Do you work here?" No, I like to dress in this rediculous costume. I got the "all of us" as well. I was working at Kilimanjaro Safaris... "How many in your party?" "Two." Next group, "how many in your party?" "We're with them" as the truck pulls away. Happened A LOT! Then they complain because I didn't seat them together.
I work at a restaurant as a host and when my co workers and I ask people how many in your party they always say “us” or just point at themselves and like thee other people like Who is us!?? There are people behind you in line, are they included in your party too!?? Are you going to treat the whole lobby to some food!!. It gets very annoying
Like Bailey said, we would be around to answer questions and help out guests with whatever they needed. We also had quite a checklist of things that had to be done to get the boats put into storage and shut down. Great question!
Yes! There is a Disney Culinary Program for current students and recent graduates. If you search for culinary program on the Disney Careers website, you can get a lot more info and apply!
They get the notification that there is lightning in the area before it reaches a place where it would be dangerous just so we have time to get all the boats back, all the guests off, and everything stored before the actual potentially dangerous stuff arrives.
How do you deal with guests that harshly tell their children "MICKEY IS NOT REAL! NONE OF THEM ARE!!" or someone that uses a bit too much profane language?
Since I worked at the Jungle Cruise, I wasn't really ever around any characters so I didn't have that problem. If kids asked if our animals were real we'd just say "of course they're real, they're not imaginary". If people were speaking profanely, we'd usually just give them a look and if it was someone who just generally talks like that, they'd usually get the idea and apologize. If someone was yelling profanely and being disruptive, a coordinator would talk to them. If it gets really bad, security gets called and they're escorted from the park and in some cases banned. Basically, it depends on how malicious and disruptive the language is.
you do realize what storytime videos are, right? UNLESS this is a joke about the common sense part. if not, then this fits the whole not using common sense theme of the video lol.
Oh I understand now. You're saying that "common" sense is just that. It's just "common" and nothing more. I get it. It' s just another way of saying "simple mindedness". Wow I think that you may be a little narrow minded in your judgement but who am I to disagree?
I never have to worry about things like this because I will never set foot in Disney. I have common sense not to waste hundreds on an overrated amusement park to wait in lines to see a bunch of know it all teenagers wearing costumes.
So hopefully you can answer this. You mention in this that you close the right due to lightning in the area. How exactly does this work? Since someone would have to drive the boat forward in order to allow everyone to get off of the boats, so how does the Cast Member driving said boat actually get back onto land?
Great question! When the lightning gets close enough that it could eventually be a concern (but isn't to that point yet) that's when they close down and don't send anything else out. There is time for the boats already out on the water to return safely. They just make the call nice and early to make sure everyone stays safe :)
"how many in your party"
"all of us"
LMFAO
Every. Single. Day. haha
EVERYONE ON LINE!!

Hey, it was a big number, but you knew the answer so go you! I bet y'all needed quite a few boats!
I think we took up three and a half boats!
Oh Lawd, I would’ve gotten fired. Out would’ve come something snarky. Hats off for you keeping your head about you with these people.
I know I am late to the video, but I just have to say that I am blown away by your poise and professionalism. The articulation of your words is a rarity these days among young people. Thank you so much, that's amazingly kind of you to say! I'm glad you're enjoying the guest stories, there should be more coming :)
“This is not and indoor bird show”😂
Right!? haha
Was gonna say! I for one can tell a "huge" difference between The Jungle Cruise and Enchanted Tiki Room! That statement certainly gave me laughs!
do people like... not read the signs? the jungle cruise is in it's own separate area with a sign that says jungle cruise at the top of the stairs, and another sign that says jungle cruise at the entrance. the tiki room has a _giant_ sign in front of it that says walt disney's enchanted tiki room

You're my favorite type of guest! Making everyone's lives easier, especially, like you said, when the queue music is ridiculously loud in some places!
Thank! I'm going to do this in January when I go with my daughter!
I was on the culture exchange. I’m from Italy. And the one I got asked all the time was “do you speak English” or the ruder people would ask “do you speak American”
Oh wow...that's terrible. I bet your English was better than some of theirs!

Oh I hate when people use flash on pirates! Glad y’all said something and were hopefully able to enjoy the last bit of the ride!

I would definitely have just gone back too! I'm glad y'all are nice and helped keep the peace :)
I think some people pack away their brain and bring no brain at all lol
sorry if this is weird to say but your accent is awesome!
Aww thank you, that's very sweet of you to say :)
"Do you work here?"
No, I like to dress in this rediculous costume.
I got the "all of us" as well.

So true! I can’t believe how often people just let the rest of their party go off and THEN tell you they’re together haha.
Love your videos!
One time my dad and I were waiting for space mountain got up to the rockets after waiting an hour and as my dad was stepping in they shut it down 😂
Ugh! I bet you just wanted to scream at the time, glad you can see the ironic humor in it now!
I work at a restaurant as a host and when my co workers and I ask people how many in your party they always say “us” or just point at themselves and like thee other people like Who is us!?? So frustrating! Sorry you have to deal with that probably all day everyday!
“Where’s the Harry Potter ride?”
Oh yes, we got that allllll the time!
What would they make you do during a lightning storm. Did you just get a nice long break?
SaltyPanda they stand outside the attraction and assist guests with questions! I’m sure there are a few others things as well.
Like Bailey said, we would be around to answer questions and help out guests with whatever they needed. We also had quite a checklist of things that had to be done to get the boats put into storage and shut down. Great question!
Great video!!!!!! Also, do you know if there is a culinary branch of the Disney College Program?
Yes! There is a Disney Culinary Program for current students and recent graduates. If you search for culinary program on the Disney Careers website, you can get a lot more info and apply!
Skipper Meaghan Awesome!!!! Thanks!!!
Love this video!
Thanks so much! :)
The last one made me laguh, like ''serious'' ? xD
I still laugh when I think about it! Glad you thought it was funny too!
What if you're already on a boat in the open?
They get the notification that there is lightning in the area before it reaches a place where it would be dangerous just so we have time to get all the boats back, all the guests off, and everything stored before the actual potentially dangerous stuff arrives.
@@SkipperMeaghan,yikes. I'd understand about the lightning. I wouldn't want to get zapped.
very funny video
Thanks! :)
