Disney treats people with too much compassion... sometimes saying "NO" is important in business too. People come to Disney thinking they are entitled to the most ridiculous requests....
I can just see self-entitled guests demanding free stuff because it's their un-birthday, lol.

I’m completely floored how outright rude some people are. As an Italian I was in the international program. I worked in the Italy Village at Epcot. I was asked multiple times a day if I spoke English, or if I spoke “American”. I wanted to answer people so bad with. You know I’m sorry I speak 4 languages fluently and I’m sorry American isn’t one of them.

Oh my gosh! You served me and my father ice cream last year! I remember thinking you were so pretty and remembered your name and i just stumbled across this video. You were so nice and sweet 😊 my dad always wanted ice cream from that shop but my mom would never want any, which meant he never got it. After my mom passed away we took a trip to DW to get out of our sadness and it was really important to him that he got ice cream. You were a VERY important part of our trip, so thank you!

OMG that annoys me SO much! I hate "the customer is always right" especially when you can prove them wrong! I saw this happen in merch a couple times too with people saying they purchased stuff they didnt buy and the leaders letting them walk out of the store with it! it was ridiculous!
What the heck WHY did she get a kitchen sink?! I will legit never get over leaders undermining cast members and kissing up to the guests when they’re wrong. EURGH. Also yes for Sarabeth finally giving us the storytime content we’re here for 😉

Why did you let it bother you so much? If she's complaining that much over an ice cream, maybe she didn't have the money for another one an her kid was screaming for one? You don't know? People save thousands all year an that interaction could have destroyed her trip. She could have been just a mean person but maybe somethings going on in her life you don't know? Don't let the bad interactions bother you sometimes there's a reason you'll never know about why people do mad things 🙂

@@revelationbos At the end of the day, this guest was being rude and demanding something that she had not bought. Wouldn't it bother you if someone came up to you and told you that you didn't know how to do your job? Also it wasn't an ice cream cone, the kitchen sink was explained to be a giant tub sized EMPTY bowl that costs ~$20. If she couldn't afford it, she could buy some other souvenir. She could've had a bad day, but why does she have to take her bad mood out on a cast member that was READY TO HELP????? It would bother anyone if they knew someone basically got away with stealing

For the story of the "sink"... it is clear with people like this that they know what happens if they complain enough. I've stumbled across various tips and tricks for Disney park websites where the suggest this kind of thing. It's not the first time this lady came through pulling this stunt.

I worked at the Emporium on my CP and lost all faith in humanity. The worst was this lady who brings up this toy and her kid and was like “he had this and lost it can you replace it you can see he is SO upset about it” (or something along those lines-those guests were always the worst when they try to say look how upset my poor baby is! & then the child is standing there perfectly happy) but I was feeling generous plus she was also paying for the $150+ giant castle set so I was like yeah sure! (Learned later we are technically supposed to send guests needing a replacement to GR no matter what.) And THEN the woman has the audacity to point to the ADULT SIZE annual pass Halloween party shirts behind me and say “we also lost those too and he’s really upset about that too :(((( “ and I was like nope nope nope and told them unfortunately they’d have to go to guest relations for that to see about lost and found. And THEN she wanted her annual pass discount on the giant castle but DIDN’T HAVE HER ANNUAL PASS OR ID ON HER so I said no we have to have pass and ID. If you come back later with your pass and ID we can give you a refund for the discount amount.
I had so many people lie about being passholders, scream at me that they were PLATINUM PLUS ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS, say they were “part owners of this company!” Because they have stock or are DVC *major eye roll*, & just be downright nasty to me. I swear that program took years off my life.
Anyone who has worked in any type of customer service can relate to these stories lol. Thanks for sharing.

I aboslutely love these stories too! 😂 I really need to write all of mine down so I don't forget the good ol' days. 😂😅 But one of my favorite stories to tell, I was an Attractions CM at Spaceship Earth and I was out front at Greeter. I had been rearranging the queue and a lady came over and asked where the stand-by line started, so I pointed it out for her and she got in line. A few minutes later I was just standing out front answering questions and here comes this lady again and she asks me "So..is this where I go in to see the castle?" I was pretty confused in this moment so all I could say was "The Castle?" and she said yes, so I just said, "No, this is a slow-moving ride that takes you up inside of the Epcot ball here." And she said "Oh okay, so is the castle inside there?" And I am just thinking WAT ON EARTH and I reply, "No ma'am, the castle is in Magic Kingdom!" to which she replies "This isn't Magic Kingdom?"
... 😲 I still wonder how that woman made it to Epcot and to Disney World in general.
i was custodial so i rarely dealt with rude guests but one time the restroom in africa in dak was flooding bc it does that sometimes and we were letting people know that it was closed for the time being and people were LIVID that they had to walk across the bridge to pizzafari or wherever to use the restroom. they stood there arguing with me and a coordinator for about the time it would have taken to walk across the bridge several times. finally my coordinator was like i guess if you REALLY want to walk through other peoples' waste, you're welcome to use this restroom. they finally walked away, but it just blew my mind how they were acting like the sole purpose of the restroom being closed was to ruin their day. yikes
My leaders would do that all the time at my location, I would be following the rules and guests were trying to lie or get free things and they would just give them whatever they wanted. They’re creating monsters!
Story: I worked at Thai bus in dak, the soft serve ice cream location near Everest and we had literally three things you could get: vanilla, chocolate, or swirl ice cream either in a cup or cone or float. This lady with seven kids comes up and orders four cones of varying flavors. I make them and three of the cones were the “wrong flavors” even though they specifically ordered swirls. They demanded they’d get to keep the three “wrong” cones but also wanted three replacement cones with the “right” flavors. KEEP IN MIND there were seven kids, they ordered four cones and then wanted three replacement cones, coming out to SEVEN CONES. THEY WANTED FREE CONES. I told them no because that’s what they had ordered, I knew because I was the one who both took and made their order, and they hadn’t even tried the cones. It would be different if they had tried the flavors and didn’t like it (still sketch because literally it was only vanilla and chocolate but whatever) but they hadn’t even tried them! My leader told me to make the three cones and let them keep all the others. As they walked away, all seven of the kids were happily eating their cones. I was so mad.
Omg that’s so messed up I would’ve been pissed. Idk how people can even do that I would feel so bad.
I can’t wait to finish my program so I can talk about so many of my nonsense stories from tower of terror. Loved this video ❤️

Yes, unfortunately sometimes because Disney charges so much people get a little well, short tempered. Because they paid "so much" and feel like they want to get their money's worth or a special favor because they feel they overpaid. The worst story I've heard lately is people actually stealing strollers in the parks. That''s horrible.

I worked customer service and ppl would always try to scheme/steal and I would always give it to them. It’s not coming out of my check🤷🏾♀️ and management sides with them anyway. I never cared enough to argue.

Okay so 2 stories
1) I worked at the lunching pad in tomorrowland where we were selling jalapeno cheese pretzels, Mickey pretzels, and a sweet caramel pretzel. Some girl who was probably around 17, 18 years old came up to me. She wanted another pretzel. Oh okay, that's fine, I asked her if something happened to the one she had. "A janitor made me throw it away". Um, really?why would they do that. "Oh well I dropped it and then they made me throw it out so can i have a new one." Oh if you dropped it then okay, I guess. What kind of pretzel was it. "Cream cheese" . BRO. Nope. We obviously dont sell them at my location so shes definitely lying. I said, " oh you had a cream cheese pretzel and you bought it from this location?" She said yes, and I said, "that's funny because we dont sell them here". She said "oh I must have gotten it at another stand somewhere else in the park and forgot where." I said, "actually they're only sold at Hollywood studios so if you want to replace the pretzel you lost you can go there. Have a magical day." I was so mad at her I just turned around until she walked off.

Ughhhh I hate when Disney gives awful guests free stuff!! It’s the worst! I dealt with that so much when I worked front desk at one of their resorts. So many awful guests got free stuff after screaming at us 😂
Everyday I am thankful that I got placed in costuming so I never have to deal with guests 😂
One of my leaders ALWAYS gave into guests like that and it made me so angry!!!

I worked at mission space this past fall and the one day we were busy because one of the more intense mission bays was broken all day. This older couple tried to say they had a fast pass and guest relations gave them unlimited fast passes. But nothing was on their my Disney experience app at all. They continued to argue with the orange team cast member and then came over to me to see if I could help. We continuously told them no and that guest relations doesn't give out unlimited fast passes. They were not having it and left and said they were going to test track. Which is even more strict about fast passes than us. and we just laughed as they walked away. Also that same cast member that told them no originally ruined a proposal later in our program and that was hilarious.

i did two DCP'S, one in 12 and another in 14. one thing i noticed is that most managers will give guests free stuff just to make them be quite and go away but every now and then you get that ONE awesome manager who won't take nothing from no one because he or she can smell a scammer from a mile away.
Hearing stories like this makes me wonder if people are actually that clueless or if they just act clueless. Also I don’t understand how people can casually lie to get free things and not feel guilty.

We are going to disney for the first time in September. I'm so excited but so scared of over booking or under booking and so on. We are going with 2 young kids. Really don't know what to expect or how to plan it... my thought was mornings in the park, resort in the afternoon to nap/rest/swim. And then back out for dinner... but I'm worried that a long day... or not long enough. .. 😫 please! Is there any other parents out there with young kids who is strict on schedule and nap time that know how to do disney!? I just want someone to talk to and bounce things off of and hear other experiences. Lol... it's been a hard morning 😂😞🤪😪
I just went for the first time!! I totally love your plans, I wouldve totally done it as a 23y/o 😂😂 you really do start flagging when you get past noon bc we tried to get there super early aka like 8-830. Keep in mind about fast passes and any of the extended hours if you're staying on a resort!! Have fun!!

The first girl probably thought the waffle Sunday was also a hot sundae and was confused as to why one hot sundae melted a lot faster than the other

Urgh I'm annoyed for you about that lady with the sink. I work in retail now and it is hellish when managers pull the 'customer is always right' move when the customer is clearly lying! I don't blame you for getting so frustrated, I'd have flat out wanted to call her a liar to her face 😂

I worked at a credit union for a while, and I had a woman argue with me for a half an hour that she gets a “free month” where she doesn’t have to pay her credit card payment every year. She had a $0 balance so no minimum payment was generated anyway, and this was the only thing she came in for. I giggle bout it sometimes! lol

If it was on a card she would be able look it up on her phone and show it to you from her app. Your manager is wrong for giving her that sink of ice cream. These thieves know they can do this and that is why they still do it. Next time tell them you are the manager and they will not receive free food or merch. They are doing it b\c they can.
I work at a fast food place and my manager does the same thing!! Customers come in lying about food they’ve never paid for and if they cry about it long enough they know they will get free stuff! I hate it!!

My friends who are ex CMs really hated it when guests go “out of bounds” on the rides and into “Cast Members Only” or into closed sections of the park (i.e. the Fantasyland Skyway loading station before it was demolished, or the “Nature’s Wonderland” old railroad tracks), or trying to stay on “Tom Sawyer Island” aka “Pirate Island” after dark.

Did he get her information before giving it to her? I saw another person's video that said they actually keep a "file" on guests that complain or have issues and eventually, they won't be able to get away with stuff like that.
Oh my gosh I totally understand how annoying but also funny these kind of people are. At the Bibbidi bobbidi boutique we would get people like this ALL THE TIME. If you ever want stories about crazy guest I have A LOT.😂

It's so necessary to laugh about them! One of my locations was also an ice cream place, and this lady shortly before the fireworks wasn't sure what she wanted. It was easy to tell that the line of people behind her was antsy. (For whatever reason, people got really confused by our menu. "I want a sundae."
"Okay. What kind can I get for you?"
Blank stares.
"Okay. We have hot fudge, cookie dough, etc.")
So after listing everything that was on the menu that was right in front of this lady, she decides that she wants a hot fudge sundae. So I ask her if she wants it with chocolate, vanilla, or a twist of both chocolate and vanilla (I learned early in my program that it's very important to say that the twist is both chocolate and vanilla). So she decided that she wanted the twist. When my filler put it up in the window and called it out multiple times, no one was claiming it. Oftentimes that means that they went to the complete opposite side than we directed. But this time it wasn't the case. My filler asked me whose it was, so I looked around the guests nearby, and I was able to pick out the lady. When she picks up it up, she screams, "I can't eat this! I can't have chocolate! I'm allergic!"
So of course, we're all apologizing (even though she's the one who ordered something that she knew that she was allergic to?), and we offer to replace it with something else. And she won't have it. She wants a refund. So I tell her, "Okay. I'd be happy to get you a refund. It just might take about 15 minutes until we can get someone here who can do that."
So I step away to make the call to my coordinators/GTs, and they ask the reason why I need a refund and if I offered other options. So I tell this coordinator what happened, and he's like, "Are you serious? Okay, someone will be right over." As it's being taken care of, some of the coordinators were in the kitchen recounting what happened to each other. They said that it was the most ridiculous thing that happened all day in all of our locations. They found it so funny.
So shortly after she gets her refund, she still hangs around and sees what comes up for someone else, and she says, "What is that? Can I have that?" It was a different thing on our menu that cost the exact same amount! So of course, we get it for her, and she basically hands me the cash that she had just had refunded to her!
I think I should have lost my job because I would have went off 😡😡😡😡😡😡
You can learn a lot from Disney employees lol
Never worked for Disney, but I did work for 23.5 years in the newsroom of a small daily newspaper. Yep, the stories are legion... Any time you deal with the public, you've got stories.

First of all, HOW DOES ONE ORDER TWO SINKS AND WALK OUT WITH ONLY ONE AND NOT REALIZE?? Second of all, I’m not a CM but I was at Disney in September and have a story lol. We are at MK on a Tuesday night and there were 9p-11p extra magic hours. It was about 9:30, so only resort guests allowed to ride of course. This guy who wasn’t staying on property wanted to take his daughter on thunder mountain. They scanned their bands and of course it didn’t let them through. He clearly had not planned at all because he was absolutely irate that there was such a thing as EMH and “it’s my daughters 16th birthday, and we’re supposed to be in the most magical place on earth and you’re trying to tell me she can’t ride anything????????” “Pretty much, sir.” I mean he was berating these CM’s, calling them names, THE WHOLE SHEBANG. And they kept their cool the entire time. It was absolutely absurd. As much as Disney costs and as many resources as they are to help a person plan, it’s hard for me to believe he was ignorant to the existence of extra magic hours. He was just trying to bend the rules. And if it really was your precious princess’s special day- why not stay ON DISNEY PROPERTY?
Guests are something else I have stories I could share currently lol. And I am sorry that he did that! Managers shouldn’t give free stuff when they told you not to give it to them

I just don’t understand how people can be so stupid and rude.. oh wait I can I used to work at Disney’s contemporary resort and also the GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT AND SPA so many entitled people walk through GF and it’s insane. I also work at a children’s toy store now and it’s not even worse than Disney’s guests.
I encounter this type of rudeness all day long in my department. It's like some guests forget what common sense is and their MANNERS when they arrive here. But I will say Disney has the slogan "This is the most magical place on earth" so guests expect that. No matter if their in the wrong.

im gonna be honest, if i were you, & she lied about buying a kitchen sink. I WOULD STRANGLE HER OMFG. My mom works at Disney (im a child lol) & she tells me she always gets frustrated with those types of guests. Im like "mom i cant work at disney, because i would just STARNGLE thoes guests" 😂
If that lady came into my line and the guy didnt do anything I would pull him aside and tell him I'd handle it and tell her to go away lol
Obviously the magic of Disney keeps ice cream from melting even on the hottest days and on top of the warmest pies
Had a 7 or 8 year old boy come up to me (same as you, I had been in the position for hours) and tell me he dropped his five pretzels. No one had placed an order for five pretzels while I was there, let alone a little kid. I asked where the ones that fell on the ground were. He didn’t have them. Asked for a receipt, of course he didn’t have one. Told him, sorry nothing I can do. I know an adult had to put him up to that. Some people are just horrible.

Omg I hate that he gave her the sink wtf I deal with a similar situation where I work which is six flags over texas and I airbrush shirts and other items and people will constantly complain to me about prices or they’ll try to get me to lower the prices just because its expensive but yet they waste a lot of on food and flash passes and merch and it’s annoying then they’ll leave saying they can do it at home for cheaper like yea airbrushing is easy
I work at Hooters on a very popular vacation beach, and lord can I tell some stories. I had a table sitting on our back porch of 2 who I was taking care of, and I had another table of 4 right behind them. The table of 2 were just given their appetizer and enjoying their meal. The table of 4 was rowdy and had been drinking previously to being in our restaurant. I didn’t serve that table any alcohol as I informed my manger that they were wasted. As I’m coming out to bring another round of drinks to my 2 top, my 4 top gets up to leave. One of the people at the 4 top was so intoxicated he could barely stand up. He turned around on the patio and projectile vomited all over the girl at my 2 top, who happened to be in a thong bikini. She had vomit all down her back and her boyfriend then started to get sick himself. I took a rag and spray to her ass and had to clean her up because she was so mortified. Needless to say, that was a rough day on my part 😂
I hated hated HATED it when coordinators or leaders would give guests exactly what they wanted just cause they were throwing a fit and you were fighting against it.

also while doing pac a man pushed me and tried to spit on me. I will say those are the negative ones I remember all the rest are good stories

I feel like a lot of people leave their common sense at the front gates when they go to places like Disney world. I live a tourist town and it's like that here too. We like to say they leave their brains on the perimeter highway when they come out from the city.

I love watching you and Janie and others experiencing the original park.....you were so genuinely excited!...despite all the construction walls....I felt bad for you traveling across the country just to see Disneyland under so much construction. I'm a westcoaster and it's fun to see your take on Disneyland versus Disneyworld.
Any additional behind-the-scenes Disney stuff you can share would be really fun.
