One of the most committed players I've met in the game is a Necromancer vampire. Plays Cyrodiil a lot, not sure what his build is, but the guy is committed to the class.
As a Necro main DPS on EU iam outparse the most arcanist and others and get many request to help in trials for progress groups as parse DD. But i would also say as DD it is in B because its so difficult to play. I needed years of to be this good and also need to adjust my gear and skills for bosses. Necro doesnt work well for short dps bursts like arcanist.
I don’t know if anyone in chat ever had a chance to play with Nefas but during the Elsweyr Chapter he ran as random with my guild. It was obvious we had several inexperienced players. Instead of being an elitist and bailing he was awesome to play with. He helped teach mechanics and stuck through multiple wipes. Great guy.
I really enjoy the nightblade especially Stam. Any advice on build style for trials/high dps with all the updates? Gear, skills? I enjoy DW and 2H or Bow depending. I use maelstrom back bar atm.
As a freak who loves necromancer I hate to agree lol, you were VERY spot on! Specially after my Plaguebreak Set was nerf to PvP only... sad day that was! I wish they go for quantity instead of quality, just give use a morph with flaming cone skull barrage AoE or make our blast bones work like a lesser Animate Blastbones that animates all corpses in the area around you to attack and explode... Give one Super morph to Summon the full Colossus that follows you and smashes things before becoming a Bomb and exploding! IMO they should go with fun crazy with the class! Necromacer as I understand it was never about balance or fairness (Just lower the damage or something to balance it, but make them a walking disposable army etc)!
Necromancer has been in a slump for the past year. That said, I imagine the developers are aware of this. They will likely implement some changes with the fall update. I personally hope they balance magicka and Stam a bit more so both can be equally viable for PvE DPS.
The balance now is dumb. Everyone wants stam or hybrid because they hit slightly higher than mag. They ignore the fact they only hit those numbers standing on the boss in range for mele LA. Which isn't viable in a lot of raids. so essentially people pushing for stam classes do to parse numbers that wont be doing nearly that damage in actual content.
Completely agree DK healing can be S tier especially in some situations where there is a LOT of incoming damage healing buffs from major and minor vitality and access to easy major mending + shields what it not to like? Combine with Archive set BBW and or blind set and you r heals and shields are STUPID with bastion CP + major and minor vitality and the set bonuses barriers hit 70K ish and the heals are also buffed for barrier and healing shield when you have a heal check type situation tough to beat
You would still rank a Templar healer over a Blade? Most end-game groups are running a Warden with either and Arc, Blade, or recently Cro with the new trial?
They really should add a werewolf back bar and completely rework werewolf to be more skilled and more rewarding, it's almost completely dead, they fact they are nerfing the berserker AOE taunt is hilarious

Main templar tank, i usually do pretty well, even on HM dungeons. Ive only run into issues on some like bal sunnar 2nd boss with his tri beam and then the fire boss on the one necrom dungeon with the duo boss at the end eith the spider and fire lady. Saps up my stamina and just have a hard time
I stopped playing bc of how much harder it feels like you need to play just to keep up with other classes on a necro and necro was my main. The class seems to be getting the middle child treatment and if they could just improve the class I would come back. When arcanist came out the class was significantly easier to play and you can cleave entire groups of ads with ease.
Warden tank in B tier is wild 🤦♂️❌ Best tank in our raid group is a warden double frost. Sure he doesn't add minor brutality, but that's covered by our zendk, and wardens are god tier tanks. I know because i am one and tanking on all classes, warden is easily my favourite. Arguably stronger than DK. With the introduction to scribing theyre even stronger and more versatile than ever.
I love Templar make jabs hit everything for the same amount of damage and give it slightly better sustain and it’s perfect i know a lot of classes need a lot more love but Templar is my favourite and this is what I wanna see changed
ESO is an embarrasing bugfest that ZOS doesnt care to fix as long as you keep shoveling money at them. You cant even pvp in cyrodiil cause the lag spikes will eat your inputs. This game is barely more than the failure fallout 76 was, and by the same people. Don't waste your money on this horrible game guild wars is better
A good example for differing groups. For my trifectas we usually run Warden tank 3 Arc. The warden provides the protection, self heals, and group sustain. Usually in crimson oath and archdruid Arc covers vuln with colorless another does zenas. On dungeons that require heals we do a warden with spc pillagers, spaulder (sometimes MA PA) and swap tank to necro.
Tough to rank some classes in PvP, without splitting the the classes into at least two categories: Stam & Mag. Sorc, for example is SSS as mag, to the point of it being a meme now. Any moron can do well on Magsorc. While Stamsorc is much more balanced against other 'middle-of-the-road' classes. Warden is in a similar situation as Sorc. Though not quite rising to the same meme-levels, when its meta is leaned into. And NB can do no wrong; fundamentally OP. Whereas Templar and Necro always end up feeling like you brought a knife to a gunfight. DK seems to be the best 'middle-of-the-road' class. If other specs were balanced _around_ DK, I think that would go a long way towards creating an overall sense of class balance in PvP.
I mastered the nightblade for dps, tank and healer. It's the player not the class. For trials, i have no control of that since there is no random queue, and guilds in general don't want nightblade tanks. But i always prove them wrong when im giving the chance
If you’re new, chances are you’ll be a dps, so i think it just comes down to choosing what appealing to you. The part people forget is that they still need to learn mechanics and watch videos on that subject, cause I’m tired of 3 hour pug runs because a dps wouldn’t pick up the orb on platform boss in dreadsail, not even hm either. I can solo the tauran in weld with a templar so I think you are mistaken putting him so low. I watched dragon knight get blown out, necros into dust, sorcerer stomped, and so on. I think you need to retest your theory. But you do have some valuable points in most of your comments.

Its funny to think about coz if you consider that eventually arcanist will get nerf (easiest playstyle also strongest? never lasts), then templar top for trial dps according to this list, i dont think many people think it like that. But tbh i have looked at the logs for the diff trials and it appears arcanist > DK >= templar are the only ones who can really top dps.
imperial city should be considered as pvp/pve "overland". some classes are simply better for tackling pve content there, with enough utility to pivot into 1v1, 1vx fights. also, the hardest overland content ive encountered in pve are roaming world bosses. no one seems to ever mention them when talking about overland.
I like how dk are one of the best in tanking and dd and other classes in anything and this is for a year now... ZOS should have a better vision of the game tbh.
The sorcerer is my favourite class, so when I decided to try healing and tanking, I chose the sorcerer. I only ever learned to tank or a sorcerer. I have a necro tank, but have not put in the time and effort to really learn how to tank veteran content. I don't tank that often, but I have managed to complete a few hard mode DLC dungeons on my sorc tank. I do more healing than tanking. I feel I can comfortably heal veteran trials. I only have a sorcerer and nightblade healers. I mostly use my sorcerer. I like the latest sorcerer changes. Now, I no longer use the Twilight Matriarch. Vibrant Shroud is pretty good. Still getting used to Daedric Refuge. I get good numbers with it, but I'm not sure how really useful it is considering it is hard to set up and your group needs to understand how to use it. I have a nightblade healer only because I had a hard time playing a DPS with it when I was a beginner, so I changed it to a healer. It was popular for a while with the ultigen build. It's the only setup I have on my nightblade. I'm fine with it. I just don't use it as often as my sorcerer. As for DPS, I personally find that my stam warden is my best DPS character in content. I found a rotation that I'm really comfortable with. It's a bow/bow build with good ranged capability. I find I play better with ranged characters than melee characters even though most of the time I am in melee. Just not having to always be in melee makes me more relaxed. That and a rotation I really am comfortable with makes this my best DPS in content. I also really like playing my mag necromancer. I just find that my build with only BB and DOTs is just cool. It has good cleave. Just that a lot of my damage are ground DOTs, so it has trouble with mobile fights. It also lacks good burst damage. I have a stam and mag sorcerer as well as it is my favourite class. I do really like my stam sorc. It uses an off meta build with 2H on both bars. I find I perform better with this setup than a DW/2H setup. I do have a trash setup that uses DW/2H. My boss setup is 2H/2H. I also have a ranged setup using double bows as well for fights where having ranged capability is really important. I haven't use my mag sorc that much lately for harder content. I do fairly well with it. I just haven't put in much time to make a trash setup yet, so it is lacking in cleave.
Are you farming? This video is so uninformative that watching it is almost pointless. I get that you're a top player and you're playing with other top players, so any contnet outside of trials HMs is easy for you, but why even make a tier list if all the classes have the same rating? For example, whether something is easier or more difficult to do with a given class should strongly influence its rating (not whether something is possible to do because someone has proven it once...). Viewers, before you waste your time: everything is S tier, unless we are talking about doing trials trifectas XD
Yes, well said, what's the point of tier lists if everything has the same rating? And lumping together dungeons, solo arenas and group arenas is inaccurate too, solo content and group content play differently. While solo you have to heal yourself, do damage and be somewhat resistant, while in group content there's a dedicated role for each of these components and therefore a higher degree of specialization. So that part of his video is rather bad.

But power creep has made vMA/vVH/vDSA/vBRP (and I talk about Infinite Archive briefly in the video) so easy for either solo or group play and all possible configurations have been ran by people in the past however many years it’s not really worth trying to nitpick things between individual classes for that kind of content anymore. In truth, if someone tells you that Warden is worse than Dragonknight for vMA or Warden tank is worse than DK tank for vBRP, that’s a skill issue rather than a class issue for a majority of the playerbase.

I got the feeling you were only talking about or leaning more heavily towards mag dps in this list once you started talking about the beams of arc and templar. My favourite tabk and healer are both sorcerer's. I've had them for a while as my main support toons even though I have one of each class but the recent adaptations to a few of the sorc skills has made them even better as a support class. Once you tag on the sorc class mastery from scribing...Damn!!!
arcanist beam is based on your highest resource, and it's more common to see stamina arcanist than the mag one. stamina templar can use the beam as well, it's only an execute skill that just sits on your skill bar most of the time, low cost, and usually most of the time boss dies within 4 consecutive beams ramped up with jabs opening (if no one providing major brut-sorc ) and flawless dawnbreaker. if your mag is not enough, tri-stat or mag pot will help you get your mag back.
@@oshirockingham9655 you can still do 300% execute damage with a stamplar using 2h. As for arc beam, although you don't HAVE to be at range to use it, it definitely fits better on a mag range build and for stam you have the tentacles for execute/heal. Both the skills are more mag build oriented which was my point.

Not true at all. People with a basic understanding of buildcrafting and rotations will, the vast majority of the time, outperform the 1 bar heavy attack build (I say that as someone who, due to lack of capability to use 2 bar rotations, run a HA build myself). For ease of play, it’s absolutely god tear, but for overall performance, it peaks at 7.5/10. A game changer for those of us who need it, but absolutely not ‘god’ tier when put against other builds in the hands of people who know what to do with them
@@JDTStagg88100% not true 3 HA sorc comp is best in slot for dungeon trifectas its not even close the sustainability is infinite the survivability is un matched and the damage is around 80-90k which is more than enough for any 4 man content in the whole game as some one who’s got every 4 man achievement in the game on a 1 bar sorc and someone who can also hit 120k on an arc … there’s a reason 4man the biggest dungeon guild on ESO Xbox NA only gives you half the highest rank they offer if you get all the trifecta clears on a HA sorc because it’s just that unfair. Another example I had a friend who went from not being able to get the hard mode clear in Icereach on his arc to getting unchained within a few days on a HA comp its ridiculous 🤣

Putting everything S tier for overland content is just silly. Just because its all easy to use doesnt mean they're all the same level. I respect your knowledge, but you've ignored the reason tier lists exist. Also, werewolf is an ulti, not a class. Vampire is a skill line/passive, not a class. A rare occurrence , but I disagree with you almost 100 percent.
Werewolf replaces your bar when you transform and removes any significance of your class, it counts. Vampire can change enough of your kit to be extremely detrimental regardless of your class, it counts. You can rp through overland content with just light attacks and naked, the only thing that would not be in S tier is someone somehow incapable of getting through it.

While I've seen guides that didn't recommend it, it seems that DK healers are definitely a thing. Never tried it myself seriously though, I've heard they were more akin to "shield healers" or something.

Necromancer is the hardest class to master, it is purely skill, If you don’t have it then you will lose.

You have to take into account solo play as well. I still do think B is too low, A tier is appropriate.

Whereas Templar and Necro always end up feeling like you brought a knife to a gunfight. DK seems to be the best 'middle-of-the-road' class. If other specs were balanced _around_ DK, I think that would go a long way towards creating an overall sense of class balance in PvP.
I mastered the nightblade for dps, tank and healer. It's the player not the class. For trials, i have no control of that since there is no random queue, and guilds in general don't want nightblade tanks. But i always prove them wrong when im giving the chance
If you’re new, chances are you’ll be a dps, so i think it just comes down to choosing what appealing to you. The part people forget is that they still need to learn mechanics and watch videos on that subject, cause I’m tired of 3 hour pug runs because a dps wouldn’t pick up the orb on platform boss in dreadsail, not even hm either. I can solo the tauran in weld with a templar so I think you are mistaken putting him so low. I watched dragon knight get blown out, necros into dust, sorcerer stomped, and so on. I think you need to retest your theory. But you do have some valuable points in most of your comments.
something that annoys me with these games is the fact that they nerf things simply for being popular or fun rather than for actually being game breaking
NB tank higher than sorc tank xD It's totally wrong. Sorc tank have all tools to be bis and should be in S class.
Its funny to think about coz if you consider that eventually arcanist will get nerf (easiest playstyle also strongest? never lasts), then templar top for trial dps according to this list, i dont think many people think it like that. But tbh i have looked at the logs for the diff trials and it appears arcanist > DK >= templar are the only ones who can really top dps.

imperial city should be considered as pvp/pve "overland". some classes are simply better for tackling pve content there, with enough utility to pivot into 1v1, 1vx fights. also, the hardest overland content ive encountered in pve are roaming world bosses. no one seems to ever mention them when talking about overland.

Templars will always be one of my favorites to play in any role and Nightblades are my second favorite.

after tormentor nerf templar is trash tier tank it wasn't great even with tormentor but now its in the grave
The sorcerer is my favourite class, so when I decided to try healing and tanking, I chose the sorcerer. I only ever learned to tank or a sorcerer. I have a necro tank, but have not put in the time and effort to really learn how to tank veteran content. I don't tank that often, but I have managed to complete a few hard mode DLC dungeons on my sorc tank.
I do more healing than tanking. I feel I can comfortably heal veteran trials. I only have a sorcerer and nightblade healers. I mostly use my sorcerer. I like the latest sorcerer changes. Now, I no longer use the Twilight Matriarch. Vibrant Shroud is pretty good. Still getting used to Daedric Refuge. I get good numbers with it, but I'm not sure how really useful it is considering it is hard to set up and your group needs to understand how to use it.
I have a nightblade healer only because I had a hard time playing a DPS with it when I was a beginner, so I changed it to a healer. It was popular for a while with the ultigen build. It's the only setup I have on my nightblade. I'm fine with it. I just don't use it as often as my sorcerer.
As for DPS, I personally find that my stam warden is my best DPS character in content. I found a rotation that I'm really comfortable with. It's a bow/bow build with good ranged capability. I find I play better with ranged characters than melee characters even though most of the time I am in melee. Just not having to always be in melee makes me more relaxed. That and a rotation I really am comfortable with makes this my best DPS in content.
I also really like playing my mag necromancer. I just find that my build with only BB and DOTs is just cool. It has good cleave. Just that a lot of my damage are ground DOTs, so it has trouble with mobile fights. It also lacks good burst damage.
I have a stam and mag sorcerer as well as it is my favourite class. I do really like my stam sorc. It uses an off meta build with 2H on both bars. I find I perform better with this setup than a DW/2H setup. I do have a trash setup that uses DW/2H. My boss setup is 2H/2H. I also have a ranged setup using double bows as well for fights where having ranged capability is really important. I haven't use my mag sorc that much lately for harder content. I do fairly well with it. I just haven't put in much time to make a trash setup yet, so it is lacking in cleave.

Are you farming? This video is so uninformative that watching it is almost pointless. I get that you're a top player and you're playing with other top players, so any contnet outside of trials HMs is easy for you, but why even make a tier list if all the classes have the same rating? For example, whether something is easier or more difficult to do with a given class should strongly influence its rating (not whether something is possible to do because someone has proven it once...).
Viewers, before you waste your time: everything is S tier, unless we are talking about doing trials trifectas XD

Yes, well said, what's the point of tier lists if everything has the same rating? And lumping together dungeons, solo arenas and group arenas is inaccurate too, solo content and group content play differently. While solo you have to heal yourself, do damage and be somewhat resistant, while in group content there's a dedicated role for each of these components and therefore a higher degree of specialization. So that part of his video is rather bad.

Because it’s true and many NEW players have asked about classes for overland. Telling people to not play Necro or that it’s worse than Warden for casual play in overland content is not only dishonest but detrimental to their perception and progression. ONLY thing I would maybe change in retrospect is Arcanist for DPS being above a lot of the other classes but again the content is easy enough for whatever. If you can make a “better” tierlist for overland or even Dungeons in group format go ahead so I can make fun of it.

But power creep has made vMA/vVH/vDSA/vBRP (and I talk about Infinite Archive briefly in the video) so easy for either solo or group play and all possible configurations have been ran by people in the past however many years it’s not really worth trying to nitpick things between individual classes for that kind of content anymore. In truth, if someone tells you that Warden is worse than Dragonknight for vMA or Warden tank is worse than DK tank for vBRP, that’s a skill issue rather than a class issue for a majority of the playerbase.

I got the feeling you were only talking about or leaning more heavily towards mag dps in this list once you started talking about the beams of arc and templar.
My favourite tabk and healer are both sorcerer's. I've had them for a while as my main support toons even though I have one of each class but the recent adaptations to a few of the sorc skills has made them even better as a support class. Once you tag on the sorc class mastery from scribing...Damn!!!
arcanist beam is based on your highest resource, and it's more common to see stamina arcanist than the mag one. stamina templar can use the beam as well, it's only an execute skill that just sits on your skill bar most of the time, low cost, and usually most of the time boss dies within 4 consecutive beams ramped up with jabs opening (if no one providing major brut-sorc ) and flawless dawnbreaker. if your mag is not enough, tri-stat or mag pot will help you get your mag back.
@@oshirockingham9655 you can still do 300% execute damage with a stamplar using 2h. As for arc beam, although you don't HAVE to be at range to use it, it definitely fits better on a mag range build and for stam you have the tentacles for execute/heal. Both the skills are more mag build oriented which was my point.

People with a basic understanding of buildcrafting and rotations will, the vast majority of the time, outperform the 1 bar heavy attack build (I say that as someone who, due to lack of capability to use 2 bar rotations, run a HA build myself).
For ease of play, it’s absolutely god tear, but for overall performance, it peaks at 7.5/10.
A game changer for those of us who need it, but absolutely not ‘god’ tier when put against other builds in the hands of people who know what to do with them
@@JDTStagg88100% not true 3 HA sorc comp is best in slot for dungeon trifectas its not even close the sustainability is infinite the survivability is un matched and the damage is around 80-90k which is more than enough for any 4 man content in the whole game as some one who’s got every 4 man achievement in the game on a 1 bar sorc and someone who can also hit 120k on an arc … there’s a reason 4man the biggest dungeon guild on ESO Xbox NA only gives you half the highest rank they offer if you get all the trifecta clears on a HA sorc because it’s just that unfair. Another example I had a friend who went from not being able to get the hard mode clear in Icereach on his arc to getting unchained within a few days on a HA comp its ridiculous 🤣

Is HA Sorc by far the easiest to do that content? Without question. But there is better for those who can do it as you proved yourself.

Putting everything S tier for overland content is just silly. Just because its all easy to use doesnt mean they're all the same level. I respect your knowledge, but you've ignored the reason tier lists exist.
Also, werewolf is an ulti, not a class. Vampire is a skill line/passive, not a class.

Overland content is just so easy that yes everything is S tier.
Werewolf replaces your bar when you transform and removes any significance of your class, it counts. Vampire can change enough of your kit to be extremely detrimental regardless of your class, it counts. You can rp through overland content with just light attacks and naked, the only thing that would not be in S tier is someone somehow incapable of getting through it.
A werewolf healer...? Sounds like a good challenge..

While I've seen guides that didn't recommend it, it seems that DK healers are definitely a thing. Never tried it myself seriously though, I've heard they were more akin to "shield healers" or something.

But yea, even Nefas essentially left because the game was dying, and the heart of the community had left. He made a video about it ~8mos ago, it coincided roughly with the crown gifting debacle.
