Perfect cymbals, perfect drums.......great subtle playing.
So technical and complex yet somehow he leaves so much space and breathing room...what a graceful player
It's because his ideas and figures are so musical. Great player!
One of my all-time favorite drummers! Been following him since the Zappa days.
His work with Holdsworth is untouchable...
apart from the holdsworth bit
Simon Hunter really, what’s the purpose of such a comment other than being a dick.
What album? I’ve been jamming the IOU album with Gary Husband on drums and I like it a lot
@@jamesdoctor8079 listen to the live album all night wrong, chad's playing is godly
And what about Zappa? 11/8 and so on? 😁🤟🏻⭐
The last fill of this solo is amazing, chad holds his own against any player u can think of
Had the pleasure of meeting this incredibly humble man!, once i saw 'Does Human Belong in Music' thats when i knew i wanted to be a drummer!
Thanks Chad 🕉
And it all started with a great teacher who taught Chad as well as many others a great method. The legend of Murray Spivack!
As always, his drums are tuned perfectly! Love it!
one of my top 5 drummer of all times
One of my favorite drummers! I've always been impressed with the way he hits the drums, so much precision.
One of the best. Ever. And his brothers Brooks and John too!
He did a drum clinic in Tulsa.
Super nice guy!
He did a drum clinic in about 1981 here in Southern California. Two things I remember: Use a metronome when practicing. And 2nd, he talked about traditional grip vs matched grip. He was an advocate of matched grip because it's more natural. He held a drumstick in his left hand with the traditional grip, and he said, "You wouldn't hold a hammer like this" while moving the stick up and down emulating hammering a nail. We all laughed.
The most humble and underrated drummer. Love this man!
Outstanding and smooth as usual Chad...thanks for sharing your craft bro!! Spectacular guest DrumChannel!!
I shook his hands after a drum clinic in the early 90's.
That is seriously slick sick n smooth. Quality. Great dynamics.
Very chill and precise at the same time. Love the style.
3 brothers all pro drummers. Badass
The thing with Chad, is not the drumming. It's the music. It's the space. In a world full of drummers that have no technical limits, it's all about music. For further reference, see Jack DeJohnette.
Amazing. And those Paistes are gorgeous to look at too.
Brighter than the sun
god why are the wackerman’s so good at drumming and why can’t i be part of this family
It's like putting Dave Weckl and Vinnie Colaiuta into a blender and Chad is the tasteful concoction...ok, I read that on another source and applied it here.
Mr.Wackerman of course sensational drummer!
omg so much feel into this....this is a peak of feel performance and artistically....only dave weckl come close to this....
It's a fantastic solo for sure, but nothing that Weckl or Colaiuta couldn't do.
He looks like Harrison Ford. This video should be called Chad Wackerman Han Solo
LOL n1
Harrison Ford mixed with Eli Manning 😂
John Kerry
Get off my plane.
Easy answer was Indiana Jones but until then..
You all need jobs...
Incredibly good!
Wackerman's interpretation of time is sooo out there. I think this why Holdsworth used Wackeman on the vast majority of his recorded studio work.
I saw Allan Holdsworth play many times and when I saw Chad behind the drumkit I knew I would not be disappointed. Can't say the same about someone else who shall remain nameless but almost spoiled my enjoyment of the world's finest guitarist with his glaring mistakes.
Deeply Relaxed...fantastic drumming. I have been looking several times and find new ideas for myself
This guy is unbelievable.....wow !!!
I get to go see him for a drum clinic tomorrow. I'm really excited!
Enjoy!
What I find most amazing about him is how he had time to fit in being starting quarterback for NYG on top of his drumming career
Still the best.
The Wackerman family surname certainly checks out
Chad is probably one of the most precise if not the most precise drummers in all of drumming.
I heard his name for years and never seen him play. Amazing drummer. Smooth player with great attack.
so good!
Outstanding
I love this guy.
Chad made me understand Zappa....
Yessssss
Check out the video “Does humor belong in music” He was using eDrums in early 80s.
Amazing musician/drummer
Despite being a drummer, normally I don't enjoy drums solos a lot 'cause to me drums don't make a great solo instrument. Most of the time is just a pointless showoff. Chad totally nailed this though: musical, expressive and full of his usual feel. His work with the late great Frank Zappa is moving. Thank you for sharing! Greetings from Italy
Best wackermann family drummer 😄
I got mistaken for brooks wackerman and came here but I'm wasn't disappointed!!
Chad is his dad.
Colin Gullberg Actually Chad is his older brother.
@@colingullberg brother*
Great uncle on his Mother's side. Twice removed.
Great drumning
that cymbals. ammaaazzziing
Nice work!
Check out his solo with The Band from Utopia...City of Tiny Lights
Thanks In Advance...!!!
SMOOTH
Paiste sound amazing
Chad !
Прикольные переходы. Класс!
What line are those Paiste Cymbals? They sound Great!
His daughter is on American Idol!
There's always a question in an artist's mind. Go Chad! A great drumming mind no technique just for the sake of it.
Damn!!!!!!!!!!
Its pretty cool hearing his last name on american idol, turns out its his daughter😂👌🏻
We were SO HAPPY that they interviewed him at length, was hoping they would get him doing more drums but maybe he'll get to play with Sophia onstage soon!
Just listened to her on Idol in Australia... brought me here. Great drumming.
This gives me much more than all that bloody gospel stuff !
Chad is so happening !
Like father like son
Perfect last name for a drummer
No conozco baterista asi
Every time I've heard this guy I end up thinking he has the best sounding drums. I assume a large part of it is the way he attacks the kit, and it's not all just in the equipment and how its tuned.
His compositions are so tasty
Es el principio y el final
Dude has barely aged since 1982
Mr. Wackerman Is absolutely smooth. Anything hes touched has been absolutely On another level whether it's with Holdsworth or Frank Zappa.
Best stuff I ever heard w/ holdsworth was the supergroup w/ Jeff Berlin & Bill Bruford- Unbelievable!!!! Bruford was the reason I started playing drums in the first place. Special drummer to me. From his legendary rim shots to his paradiddles ,his single stroke sextuplets, odd metered music, Polyrhythms, displacement of the backbeat& master of the downbeat. He has guided me taught me more than any other drummer. His symmetrical kits. Sorry Chad!
Chadd es Moses
I had no idea Eli Manning played drums.
I'm pretty sure he's a vampire, he can't be 57.
Romain MANCEL I'd say in the past 30 years he's aged about 3 months
Incredible ! Indeed drummers stay younger and better preserved than most athletes.
Is it any wonder Frank Zappa had such a liking for Chad?
When you have been playing 50 years.........
Eli Manning.
6 dislikes, clueless people...
I don’t get wtf he did
He's out of his body
Although it's an unfair characterisation, and I know I'll get some fallacious argument from authority about his CV, but Chackerman's style has always sounded amateur to me
That's because you are one of the Guitar Centers hugada huggadas! The more you play the more impressive it is! Not so in the real world.
Samsgarden I don’t mean to be condescending, but the more you know about drums and especially the technical aspects the more you will appreciate how good Chad is. He will be appreciated more by other drummers than by the general public because they know how difficult it is to do this stuff, while making it look easy. Break this solo down and try it yourself and let us know how you make out.
Like Mitch Mitchell with Hendrix, Wackerman was perfect for Zappa. Master of his craft.
