Hi Matt- Enjoy your videos! Retiring in 3 years and going to build my own house. I notice you have hot water baseboard heat. Do you like it? Can I use an electric water heater or boiler to heat the water? Where I'm going gas isn't available. Thanks

We loved the boiler system, but we’ve moved to a new house now. Running an electric boiler to heat would be prohibitively expensive unless you used something like a air to water heat-pump. Sometimes they call it a hydron module. Those systems are all super expensive, and you’d be better off spending the money to build the house so efficiently that you need very little heat at all. That way no matter what system you choose, it won’t need to work very hard.
