Hi Gita Mami, Generally the molaga pudi we do has other ingredients like mustard, methi seeds. Don’t add toor dal in that. This is very simple version- do we have to cook toor dal for rasam in this version of rasam powder? Pl let me know. Thanks as always.

Hi geeta ma just give a note on how to use this rasam powder....tat is we should just add this powder to boiling water or to tomata n tamarind ras n boil
Mamatha, you have to soak some tamarind, extract juice and boil with tomatoes, then add this rasam powder, salt and hing. Finally season with ghee and mustard seeds
Yes you can use normal dry red chillies. I will post Rasam video soon. Meanwhile, you can see my rasam video already uploaded in South Indian Side Dishes.

We have roasted the tuvar dal to make rasam powder. Depending on the rasam you are making, you can decide whether to add cooked dal or not
