Congratulations on your new cottage! Goodness, the buying/selling process in Scotland sounds so challenging!!! Luckily you've got sweet Benji to supervise you through it all!
Thank you, Andrea! 😊 It was definitely a challenging process-Scottish buying and selling can be quite the rollercoaster! But you’re absolutely right, having Benji here to supervise makes everything a bit easier (and a lot more fun!). 🐾 Thanks so much for the kind words!
I love Adam's shelves of curiosities! So cool. The lamps are great! The shop is amazing. What the heck did Adam do to your hair, Johnny? 😅 I'm glad he shaped it up. You, too, are hilarious. Good luck with the move!
Thank you so much! 😊 Yes, Adam’s shelves are full of our upcycled vintage lighting and other treasures from Godwin Vintage-so glad you like them! Haha, the haircut was a bit of an adventure, but he pulled it off in the end! 😂 We’re glad you’re enjoying the shop and our antics! Fingers crossed for the big move-thanks for the good luck wishes! 😅
Love these slice of life vlogs. It brought back memories when I moved. I would also find myself just standing, hands on hips, Immoble, just staring at all of my stuff.
Thanks so much! 😊 Haha, we’ve definitely had those moments-just standing there, hands on hips, staring at all the stuff and wondering where to even start! Glad the vlogs brought back some memories for you!
Thanks, @jackiepark4673! 😊 Benji is such a sweetheart, and we can’t wait to take him on all the amazing walks right from our doorstep. He’s going to love it! 🐾 Thanks for your kind words! 😊
Haha, well, there’s not much of a story! 😂 Years ago, I hosted a casino-themed fancy dress party, and I bought all sorts of accessories like feather boas, gloves, hats, and props for the guests to dress up in. Good times! 🎉
This vlog is NOT boring at all, Adam and Johnny. Totally enjoy the ReVeal of the treasures and the wit between you 2 Gents. Your baritone voices are so pleasant to listen to.
Thank you so much! 😊 We’re really glad you enjoyed the video and the little treasure reveals. And we’ll definitely take the compliment on our voices-glad they’re easy on the ears! 😂 Appreciate the support as always!
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! 😊 We're glad you're enjoying the peek into our lives, and we hope you stick around for the journey ahead!
Can’t wait for the move, I wouldn’t worry too much about the furniture you have a lovely set of garden furniture that you could utilise until you decide what you want!
Thanks so much, Tracey! 😊 That’s actually a great idea-we might just end up using the garden furniture for a bit while we figure things out! 😂 Can’t wait to share more as the move happens!
I finally figured it out! Adam strongly resembles actor, Tom Ewell. Has anyone ever told you that, Adam? I've lived in the same house for 27 years and can't imagine trying to pack up this house to move. INTIMIDATING!! You're one step closer to your dream. Hang in there, guys. Love and hugs from me in New Mexico USA.
Haha, I don’t think Adam’s ever been told he looks like Tom Ewell, but now we’ll have to look that up! 😊 27 years in the same house-wow, I can imagine packing up would be quite the challenge! Thanks so much for the kind words and support, we’re definitely getting closer to the dream! Sending love and hugs back from Scotland to New Mexico! 💕
I've moved so many times over the years I know exactly what you guys must be feeling. The things you accumulate is unreal! I absolutely love your dog, he's so lovely. Your current home is so stylish and your garden is beautiful. I will be following you guys on your exciting journey. Best wishes and the very best of luck! ❤ Xx
Thank you so much, Sean! 😊 Moving definitely makes you realise just how much stuff you’ve accumulated over the years-it’s unreal! So glad you love Benji, he’s a star! 🐾 And we really appreciate the kind words about our home and garden. Thanks for following our journey-your support means a lot to us! ❤ Xx
Not boring at all! It reminds of the 'joys' of packing....especially for us who hoard!! We found its surprising how much we squeeze in! Best of luck boys. Looking forward to following the journey.
Thanks so much, Tony! 😊 Glad to hear it wasn’t boring! It’s crazy how packing really shows you just how much you’ve managed to squeeze in over the years-especially if you tend to hoard a bit! 😂 Thanks for the well wishes, and we really appreciate you following along with us!
We're so glad our videos bring a sense of calm to your day! 😊 That means a lot to us-thanks for watching and for all the love! ❤ Stay tuned for more zen-filled moments! 😄
Thanks so much! We’ll definitely miss the decor in this house, especially the wall colours, but you're right-the scenery at the cottage is just stunning! If only we could pick this house up and move it with us, haha! 😂 We’ve got lots of ideas for the decor in the cottage though, and we’ll be sharing more about that in the upcoming videos!
I just discovered your channel, binge watched and subscribed! 😁 You are not responsible for having so much stuff. It’s a fact that when you put a couple of things away somewhere, they begin to reproduce! Therefore, it’s not your fault that stuff has accumulated…right? That’s my story (for my “stuff”!) and I’m sticking with it! 🙄🤭🤣😂😂. And this video was not boring because it’s not possible for the three of you to be boring! 😁🤗🥰
Thank you so much! 😁 Haha, I love that story-it’s totally the reason for our overflowing 'stuff' too! 😂 It just magically multiplies when you’re not looking, right? So glad you enjoyed binge-watching and that we didn’t bore you-means a lot to us! 😊 Welcome to the adventure! 🥰
Thanks for the insight! It’s definitely a bit of a headache no matter where you are. We’re learning that the further down the chain, the more nerve-wracking the wait can be! Hopefully, everything lines up smoothly on the day. 🤞
I’ve had house moves in both Scotland and England, neither are smooth and many but not all solicitors are not quick! In England we’ve had moves where the contract is only signed on moving day, it’s very fraught when in a chain knowing anyone within it can pull the plug right up to and including on moving day 😬. It’s supposed to be more difficult to pull out in Scotland but my sons buyer pulled out on moving day when he and his family had already committed to a six month rental property whilst they found somewhere, apparently it’s too difficult to pursue any recompense so they ended up unnecessarily out of pocket. Wishing you all the luck with the move, we bought an old rural property in Scotland two years ago and have some insight into your journey and problems with an old stone house but so worth it for the lovely community we live in and the character of the house 💕
Thanks for sharing your experience, that sounds incredibly stressful for your son’s family! We’ve definitely felt the pressure at times but are lucky to be through it now. Scotland’s buying process is meant to be more secure, but as you’ve pointed out, there are still risks. We love hearing that you’re enjoying your rural property despite the challenges-it’s the charm and character that make it all worth it! 💕
It is fascinating to watch the frustration, despondency, anxiety, and despair of someone else (ie you guys) going through what we all have to from time to time! Parting with stuff is such sweet sorrow but the relief it ultimately brings is the goal to keep in mind. Best wishes for a smooth transfer.
Thank you so much! It’s definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, and I think anyone who’s gone through it can relate. Parting with things is hard, but you’re absolutely right-the relief and fresh start that comes with it is what we’re keeping in mind. We appreciate the well wishes and are hoping for a smooth transition too! 😊
I moved to my current house in 2009. In my loft and in the garage loft I've still got loads of boxes full of "Essential" things that I haven't opened yet.
Haha, that sounds so familiar! 😂 It's always the 'essential' stuff that somehow never sees the light of day again. We’re trying to avoid that trap with this move, but who knows-might be a few 'essential' boxes lurking in our future garage too! 😅
Haha, 'box blind' is such a great way to describe it! 😂 It's amazing how those 'essential' boxes just disappear into the loft, never to be seen again! 🇬🇧🐶
Thank you so much! 😊 We really appreciate the kind words and good luck wishes-it means a lot to us! We’re excited for what’s to come, and we’re glad you’re joining us on the journey!
Very enjoyable and relatable video. You guys are a natural in front of the camera and succeeded in making what could have been a boring topic into a most enjoyable video. I do not envy your task ahead but it will so worth it in the end. I cannot wait to see what you do to the new place! Hugs from a Canadian fan!
Thank you so much! 😊 We're really glad you enjoyed the video-turning a tricky topic into something fun is what we aim for, so it means a lot to hear that! The next few weeks are definitely going to be a challenge, but we’re so excited for what’s to come. Sending big hugs back to you from Scotland! 🤗
A great vlog again guys, such an exciting time for you. I just love what you’ve done with your house and garden, so stylish. I can’t wait to see what you do to the beautiful new cottage when you get there. Best of luck with finishing the packing. Benji is so darn cute 😁
Thanks so much! We're really excited too, and it means a lot that you love what we’ve done with the house and garden. We can't wait to get started on the cottage-it’ll be fun to share that journey with you all! Benji sends his love and some tail wags 🐾😁. Packing is almost done-fingers crossed for a smooth move!
In Australia you move out of your house and into the new one on the same day. Bank hands over the money at a set time and real estate agent gives you the keys when told transaction has gone through . You know the day when initial contract signed when you will move in.
Thanks for sharing, Lorraine! 😊 That sounds so much more straightforward than the process here! Moving out and in on the same day, with everything lined up from the start, would be a dream. The uncertainty here can be quite the rollercoaster!
Aw, thank you! We’re so glad to hear that it wasn’t boring and that you found it relaxing to watch. 😊 Sometimes the slower moments are part of the journey too! Thanks for sticking with us-we’ve got more to come as the move gets closer!
No not boring, and can see so many things what my husband and i did have when we where moving...a addict full of stuff and so the shed to, cleaning things up and find out what to keep and what not....Every time i went up the addict a started watching old photo albums instead of packing things , but we did had a lot of time, we bought the house in October and we moved in February , so nothing was urgent. But we where very happy that my husband did not have to travel to work over a distance of more then 2 hour drive, that we good wait in patience before we finally start moving. Cutting your hair by yourself is the same thing we do here, don t have to go to the Barber shop and wait for hours to get finally a haircut ! Love this video even when nothing special happens, just a nice inside look of your daily life !!! Thanks again for sharing, btw i love you Chesterfield sofa !!! Send lots of love from Barney and Elly for Benjy !!
Thank you so much! It sounds like your move was quite the journey too-an attic full of stuff and getting sidetracked by old memories sounds very familiar! 😄 We’re definitely in the middle of figuring out what to keep and what to let go. That’s amazing that you had time to move without the rush-we’d love that! And yes, cutting your own hair saves so much hassle, doesn’t it? 😊 So glad you enjoyed the video, even with the day-to-day moments. Sending lots of love from Benji to Barney and Elly! 🐾 And thanks for the kind words about our Chesterfield-it’s a favorite! ❤️
Hi Johnny and Adam, thank you so much for the inspiration in, 'going for your dreams'! I can't afford to buy my own home again at the moment and this year I became a pensioner. BUT! I WILL NOT give up MY dream of having my OWN home again! I hope 'thing's' go smoothly for you and for all the other folks that are in 'the chain'! Finding your channel was great! I binged watched all your video's and was very glad when I got my notification of today's video this morning! 😁I love Benji, he's SO sweet and has 'kind eyes'. I love what you are doing with your lives and can't wait to have a look at 'your shop'! Keep going lads! Not long now! And thanks for helping to keep me motivated and inspired to strive for my dreams too! Cheers! 👍
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your story! 😊 It's amazing to hear that our journey has inspired you to keep going for your dreams-no matter where you are in life, it's never too late to reach for your goals! 💪 We're rooting for you and can't wait to have you along for the rest of our adventure! Benji sends his love too 🐾, and we really appreciate your support. Keep the dream alive! 🏡✨
@@TwoMenTheirDog Auwww...thank you SO much for your kind reply. 😀And thanks also to Benji! 😍🐾I just read/looked thru' ALL your vintage shop site/info/images. I'm amazed at the array of stock you have! 🥳 It's 'magical' and evokes another sense of reality, fun and creativity! I'm SO looking forward to seeing where your adventures take you both with your new home/life, and for new walks for Benji! ☺
Thank you so much, Helen! We're absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed looking through our shop, and your words mean the world to us. 😊 It’s such an honor to know that our little corner of creativity resonates with you. We can’t wait to share more of our adventures with the new house and all the walks Benji will be leading us on! 🐾 💫
Just found you guys channel & am going to binge! We were just at Garrion Bridge a few weeks ago for the first time...we've got an antique place in West Lothian, so was a bit of 'work trip' HAHA Can't wait to see the cottage already!
Thanks so much, Stevie! 😊 Hope you enjoy the binge-watching! Glad you made it to Garrion Bridge-it’s a great spot. That’s awesome you’ve got an antique place in West Lothian, love that! Looking forward to sharing more about the cottage soon! 🏡
Those lamps…ingenious…love them…should have thought of it myself. Show us more! Personally I would keep everything because you know you’ll look for it in the new house…
Thanks so much, Suzanne! 😊 We’re really glad you love the lamps-they’re a lot of fun to create! We’ll definitely be showing more soon, so stay tuned. As for keeping everything, you’re so right-it’s always the things you get rid of that you end up needing later! 😂 But with the move, we’re trying to be a bit ruthless this time… at least that’s the plan! 😅
👍👍 Nice to watch you guys again. No, no, your video was not boring at all. We liked it so much; nice views of the countryside, Benji sitting and "supervising everything", it was so cute. 🐶 Also nice to see Adam's workshop, very interesting antique pieces. We'll check out your website. Your video/vlog was very heartwarming; thanks for sharing a bit of your daily lives. We honestly hope that the entire moving process will be successful. Give Benji a hug from us. Cheers 🐶♥♥
Thank you so much! 😊 We’re really glad you enjoyed the video and found it heartwarming. Benji takes his supervising duties very seriously! 🐾 So happy you liked seeing Adam’s workshop too-he’s got some great vintage and antique pieces in there. We really appreciate the support, and we’ll definitely give Benji a big hug from you! Cheers! 🐶♥
We moved England to Scotland and could have been in the Scottish property within 2 weeks, the only delay was our saying that the vendors could look for a rental property. All was done and dusted in 3 weeks. We had a 6 ton skip for loft contents and it was filled, your loft is empty by comparison:) You need to get a wiggle on 3 weeks will fly. Benji looked happy to be out of the way watching you from the comfort of the bedroom.
Wow, sounds like you had a quick turnaround for your move! 😅 A 6-ton skip for the loft-now that’s impressive! Ours definitely feels empty compared to that, haha! You're right, 3 weeks will fly by, so we need to get moving. And yes, Benji always finds the comfiest spot to watch us work! 🐾
Came across your youtube channel recently and realised I've seen your your stand at Garronbridge. Keep producing lovely items guys its great to see old items from past given new life in present
Thanks so much, Aileen! It’s awesome that you’ve come across our stand at Garrionbridge-such a small world! 😊 We really appreciate the support, and it’s great to hear that you enjoy seeing old items brought back to life. We’ll definitely keep creating more! Thanks again for following along with us!
Guys, I’ve never seen the house and loft so full of the possessions. Yes it is amazing how much you keep and probably never use again if you hire a van it’s going to take you a long time to remove everything. Good luck with that.
Thanks for the good luck wishes! 😄 It really is amazing how much stuff we’ve packed away over the years. The loft is definitely full to the brim! We're realising now how much we’ve been storing and not using, so it’s a good excuse to finally have a clear-out. Hiring a van will definitely mean a few trips back and forth, but we’ll get there in the end. Thanks again for the support-it means a lot as we prep for the big move! 😊
Guys, I’ve never seen the house and loft so full of the possessions. Yes it is amazing how much you keep and probably never use again if you hire a van it’s going to take you a long time to remove everything. Good luck with that. and this is a comment about your damp wall. I’ll be intrigued to see how you do manage to fix it but you did say yourself it’s possible the previous tenants never opened the window from one year in to the next year out so I’m sure with a bit of good work from yourselves you’ll fix the problem, good luck with that as well. I hope you will be very happy in your new cottage. Look forward to seeing you.
Thanks so much! 😄 The loft is a bit of a treasure trove-so much stuff we’d forgotten we even had! You're right, it’s going to take a while to get everything out, but we’ll get there in the end (with a few van trips, I'm sure!). As for the damp wall, we’ve had some great advice from all of you, and I think once we get the cottage aired out properly, we’ll be in a good position to tackle it. It’s all part of the adventure, and we can’t wait to share how we get on with the fix! Thanks for following along! 😊
Haha, thanks! 😄 We thought we didn’t have too much, but once we started clearing out the cupboards and the garden shed too, it felt like a never-ending treasure hunt! 😂 Moving definitely makes you realise how much you’ve tucked away over the years. Time to be extra ruthless with the clear-out!
Thanks so much, Dale! 😊 So glad you found us-really appreciate the support! It’s definitely going to be an adventure, and we’re excited to have you along for the ride! 👌
Haha, we actually have one, but it’s always a race to see who gets to it first! 😂 You’re right though-it does make the whole packing process much quicker. Maybe it’s time we invest in a second one! 😁
Thanks so much! Glad you found us and that you're enjoying the channel so far! 😊 We’ve got plenty more adventures and updates coming soon-stick around! 👏
That loft was not full !! We had to book removers 3 months ahead and it was only lucky they had a cancellation. It’s quite normal to take your white goods with you unless they are built in. We moved from Devon to Northern Ireland in a day. Drove two cars, with pets and passed our removal lorry on the motorway somewhere past Birmingham!!! That was weird, seeing your whole life in one big lorry. P.S. a loft isn’t a loft without a gousto box!! I saved all of ours for over a year and filled them all with one rooms stuff, and I don’t hoard!!! Good luck. 🐶🇬🇧
Haha, you're right-definitely not 'full' by loft standards! 😅 We did have a tidy-up a few months ago, but all we really did was move things from the loft to other parts of the house and the shed! 😂 That’s wild passing your whole life in a lorry on the motorway-what a surreal moment! And yes, a Gousto box seems to be a loft essential these days! Thanks for the well wishes! 🐶
Oh guys, as someone who's bought and sold a fair few times in Scotland, I feel your pain..crazy when it gets to the week before you move..just discovered your channel and I love when I know places Garrion Bridges...Good luck will be watching the progress xx
Thanks so much, Caroline! It’s definitely a crazy time right now, and it’s comforting to hear from someone who’s been through it a few times! So glad you discovered the channel and that you know places like Garrion Bridges-such a small world! 😊 We really appreciate the support and hope you enjoy following along as we make the move! xx
Thank you! 😍 We can’t wait to show you more of the cottage! There’s still a lot to share as we get closer to moving in, so stay tuned for all the updates. Exciting times ahead!
I have boxes that I shipped from New York to California and back to Pennsylvania and still have some. My son lives on the West Coast and has told us we have to start downloading or downsizing..
Thanks so much! 😅 We definitely underestimated how much stuff we had up in the loft, but you're right-it’ll be worth it in the end! Now just counting down the days until the big move! 🏡🚚
As a retired conveyancer I know how stressful moving house is and I have lost count of the number of times removal vans are just waiting for the go ahead that the funds have gone down the line and moving can start. The ideal would be you move out by lunch time and move in during the afternoon. The Vendors need a good talking to and need to stop stressing all parties.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s definitely a stressful process, and we’re bracing ourselves for that moment of waiting for the funds to go through. Ideally, we’d love to be in by lunchtime, but we’ll just have to see how the day goes! Hopefully, it all goes smoothly without too much waiting around. Thanks again for your insight-it’s good to know we’re not alone in this! 😊
When I moved from Perthshire to Cornwall the removal did it over 4 days, but I am doing the reverse and the removals want to do it over 2 days, pack here on one, deliver the next,I am doing it alone and driving up alone is exhausting. All will be alright.
Wow, that sounds like a huge move, especially doing it on your own! I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be, but it sounds like you’ve got a solid plan in place. Best of luck with everything-hope it all goes smoothly for you! 😊
Sounds like you had a bit of a rough time with your move too! The paperwork and charges definitely add to the stress, and it doesn’t help when the moving company isn’t on top of things either. Thanks for sharing, and hopefully this time around goes a bit smoother for us! 😊
It's definitely mad all happening on one day, how much more stressful can it get? The feather boa and steampunk hat must've made the attic worth clearing lol, so funny to see what you end up collecting over time 👍❤️
It really is madness, everything happening in one day! Can’t imagine a more stressful way to move! 😅 And yes, the feather boa and steampunk hat definitely made the attic clear-out more entertaining-it’s always funny what you rediscover when packing up! Thanks for the laugh and the support! ❤️
Good luck with the move.im in the process of helping my son and daughter in law pack to move to a maisonette from a 3 bed house. There is only going to be 4 of us to do the move and look after a 4 year old and 9 year old aswell .going to be hard work lol. It's one of the most stressful this to do
Thank you so much! Wow, helping with a move while looking after a 4-year-old and 9-year-old sounds like quite the challenge! You’ve definitely got your hands full. Best of luck to you and your family with the move-it’s definitely one of the most stressful things, but hopefully, everything goes smoothly for you all! 😊
Its a strange time for you at the moment. My advise is pack everything as much as you can and put into one room if you can so that its easy access - stack boxes in room order for loading the van. We moved from Yorkshire to right up here in the west coast of the highlands - Gairloch area. We got out of our old house and into the new on the same day with 2 cars, 3 adults, 3 cats, 4 dogs and a kit to get us overnight in the new house as our removal vans (3!) wouldnt arrive till the following day. We had only seen our new home once and so brought everything with us - far too much. We brought rugs, curtains, loads of bedding etc as well as too much furniture and 'stuff' as we didnt know what we may need. Turned out we could have managed with only 2 vans as we soon realised we didnt need half the stuff we'd moved so ended up selling, donating and tipping loads of it. Its a stressful time so try to pack as much as you can now as its surprising how much time it all takes. Good luck and looking forward to your next update x
Thanks so much for the advice, Maria! 😊 It’s definitely a strange time, and we’re trying to get as much packed as possible. We’ve only seen the cottage once too, so I have a feeling we’ll end up taking far too much stuff with us, just like you did! 😂 But better to be over-prepared, right? Your move sounds like quite the adventure with all the pets and multiple vans! Wishing you all the best, and thanks again for following along-we’ll have an update soon! x
I live in Texas, where the temperature is 98° and I was in the attic pulling down autumn decorations. I'm 80, and it was so hot. The thermometer said it was 109 in the attic. I was only up there for 15 minutes. 😅😅
Wow, Janet! 109° in the attic? That’s intense! 😅 Ours was nowhere near that hot, and I still gave up after a while to chill in the garden with a cold drink! 😂 You’re definitely tougher than me-15 minutes in that heat is impressive! Stay cool and take care!
Looking forward to see you settle into to your new cottage- thank you for sharing the adventure with us. BTW you almost looked like a Peaky Blinders cast member😄! A Gram from MO.
Thank you so much, Jane! 😊 We’re really excited to settle in and share the journey with everyone. Haha, I’ll take the Peaky Blinders comparison as a compliment-maybe I’m channeling my inner Shelby! 😄 Thanks for following along, it means a lot!
I've had a few pints in that pub next door to your cottage when I was down there a few years ago renovating a house in the village, cottage next to a pub was my dream home 😂👍
That's amazing! What a small world! The pub next door definitely adds to the charm, and we love how connected everything feels in this little village. Who knows, maybe one day you'll visit again and pop in for another pint while we're there 😊🍻
@TwoMenTheirDog a small world indeed, now retired I go walks all over around the Strathaven, Stonehouse area and right away recognised the Spectacle E falls, walked down there from Sandford many times, anyway good luck with your move and I'll pass on that pint as my drinking days are long gone 😂
Such a small world! 😊 We’ve been enjoying exploring all the beautiful spots around Strathaven and Stonehouse. The Spectacle E falls is a real gem, isn’t it? Great to hear that you’ve walked those paths many times. And no worries on the pint-good memories are the best part! 😂 Thanks for the well wishes with the move; we're excited for what’s to come!
Don't throw the belts, do what we did with our daughters Karate belt collection, create a box frame with them artfully displayed and your highest grade certificate in the centre then put it on the wall.
That’s such a brilliant idea, Tara! I love the thought of displaying the belts in a box frame with the certificate-it would definitely make a great keepsake! Thanks for the inspiration, I’ll have to give that a go! 😊
Moving is being confronted with every item you’ve ever held onto - picking it up, and asking yourself “Do I need it? Do I WANT it? and - WHY?” Then making the decision to remove it from your life… Horrible process, but ultimately free-ing. Years ago we built our house, while renting our apartment in NYC. Money was “tight” and when choosing to put what there was of it toward the contractor and trades - or the landlord’s pocket - we chose to keep chugging away at our building project. I’d hired a moving company to pack and deliver our things - and they were scheduled to arrive in three weeks. The building manager knocked on our door at 7:00 one morning to tell us that we were being evicted in 24 hours. Called the moving company - they arrived by 8:00 AM, and started grabbing everything in sight - packing it into boxes and into the truck. We were on the road by 3:00 that afternoon - moved into our unfinished home with 3 toddlers, one dog, a cat, one rabbit, one iguana, two hamsters.- and never looked back. Three weeks later as I was opening boxes the moving guys had packed that morning? A big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs from the refrigerator?! A lesson in panic - and what NOT to pack. Best of all good luck to you. Keep walking and don’t look back.
Wow, what a story! Moving definitely forces you to evaluate every single item, and it’s such a mix of stress and eventual relief! That bowl of spaghetti and meatballs though 😂-definitely a lesson in packing under pressure! Thanks so much for the well wishes, and we’ll keep your advice to heart as we move forward-one step at a time!
Would love to help you guys but I think Melbourne Australia is just a bit too far for the day. Love your style, no wonder the lady wants to purchase your stuff. Looking forward to seeing the cottage 🇦🇺
Thank you so much, Joanne! 😊 Haha, yes, Melbourne might be a bit far for a quick helping hand, but we appreciate the thought! So glad you’re enjoying our style, and we can’t wait to share more of the cottage with you!
Thanks so much! 😊 Surprisingly, the cottage actually has more space than our current house, so we should be able to fit everything in (fingers crossed)! We also have future plans to possibly convert the attic or even add a garden room or extension down the line. Moving is definitely stressful, but we’re excited for what’s ahead! ❤😊
We moved 18 months ago, 800 km from the center of France to the Pyrenees. It was so stressful. Never ever moving again! What jobs do you guys do? I could imagine Adam in the army or police and Johny something medical. Anywhere near?
Wow, that sounds like quite a big move-800 km! We can imagine how stressful that must have been. And totally get the 'never moving again' sentiment! 😅 As for jobs, Adam actually works in landscaping, and I work in education, so not quite army or medical, but close in spirit maybe? 😊 Thanks for watching and following our journey!
Haha, I can see why you'd think that! 😊 He definitely has that strong, determined presence-though landscaping is his battlefield these days! 😂 Thanks for following along with us!
@@TwoMenTheirDog My pleasure. As we live rurally too with our dogs, cats and donkeys, I am keen to see how your lives unfold in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Are you relocating far?
Thanks, David! It sounds like you have an amazing setup with your dogs, cats, and donkeys-love that! 😊 We’re not relocating too far, but it’s definitely a change moving deeper into the countryside. We can’t wait to share more of our new adventures with everyone!
Totally get where you're coming from, Dave! We actually only upcycle ones that are beyond repair. Occasionally, we find a camera or phone that’s still in working order (sometimes with old film inside!), and if it’s rare or special, we’ll keep it as-is. It’s definitely a decision we take seriously! 😊 But to each their own, right? Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Haha, you’re right! 🙈 A few months ago, we had a go at decluttering the loft because it was packed and causing airflow issues. We moved a lot of it to the shed and other cupboards around the house. But now it’s time to be ruthless and get rid of the stuff we don’t need! 😂
@@TwoMenTheirDog I won’t tell you how many samples I have gone through 🤣 but the minute your opening scene popped up I knew that was the one! Looking forward to following your journey…all the very best with the house move!xx
Haha, we totally get it-paint samples can be so tricky! 🤣 Our wall changes depending on the light too-sometimes it’s more blue, other times grey, and occasionally it even has a greenish hue! So glad it caught your eye, and thank you so much for following along! 😊 Wishing you all the best too! xx
We hear you! We actually hate throwing things away too. In fact, there’s a whole section in the video where we set aside items for charity, and anything that couldn’t be reused or donated was taken to the local recycling center. We always aim to repurpose where possible! ♻️😊
Thanks for the question! 😊 We actually looked into that option, but with the way property sales and purchases work here, most people need to sell their current home to fund the new one. It would’ve been ideal to have a bit of overlap, but the same-day handover is just the way it worked out! Definitely made for a hectic moving day!
Benjy is so lovely ,he's going to have the best walks right on his doorstep.😊
Thanks, @jackiepark4673! 😊 Benji is such a sweetheart, and we can’t wait to take him on all the amazing walks right from our doorstep. He’s going to love it! 🐾 Thanks for your kind words! 😊
We NEED the feather boa story!!!!
A newbe viewer here, find you both charming and contemporary peek into your shared life together.
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! 😊 We're glad you're enjoying the peek into our lives, and we hope you stick around for the journey ahead!
Not boring at all! Onwards and upwards! ❤ XXX
Thanks so much! 😊 Glad you didn’t find it boring-onwards and upwards indeed! ❤ XXX
Never boring it’s like a Zen like experience calms me down thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We're so glad our videos bring a sense of calm to your day! 😊 That means a lot to us-thanks for watching and for all the love! ❤ Stay tuned for more zen-filled moments! 😄
I love the color of your walls in that room with the couch but the scenery in the country there is beautiful!
So happy I discovered your channel. Love the content and Benjamin is the best. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Paul! 😊 So glad you found us and are enjoying the content. Benjamin sends his love too! 🐾❤❤❤
It’s not just Scotland, it’s England too! One day move, the further down the chain, the later you will get into the property.
Me too!! I went box blind!!! 🇬🇧🐶
Haha, 'box blind' is such a great way to describe it! 😂 It's amazing how those 'essential' boxes just disappear into the loft, never to be seen again! 🇬🇧🐶
good luck guys ,you two is so cute
Good luck with the move. I look forward to seeing the new house.
Thank you so much! We're really excited about the move and can't wait to share the journey with you 😊🏡
❤Lovely video....
Thank you so much! We're really glad you enjoyed the video. Your support means a lot to us! 😊
Wishing you all the very best for your move 🎉
Thank you so much, Jude! 😊 We really appreciate the well wishes-it means a lot! 🎉
No it wasn’t boring it is relaxing
hahaha you guys are funny. Gotta follow :)
Thanks so much, Eric! 😄 Glad we could bring a bit of humor to your day! We really appreciate the follow-welcome aboard!
like your avatar, Eric. added that sketch to my illustration save file for its expression ... not into the facial hair.
@@AdamofCA. Cool ❤
“Just another project to do” , LOL famous last words !
Haha, you know us too well! 😅 There’s always another project waiting in the wings, but we wouldn't have it any other way! Keeps us on our toes! 😄🔨
I dont think you had too much in loft. ❤❤❤❤
Just found your channel ,love it ,this is going to be fun👌
Thanks so much, Dale! 😊 So glad you found us-really appreciate the support! It’s definitely going to be an adventure, and we’re excited to have you along for the ride! 👌
Get yourself a tape machine for sealing boxes, makes it much easier & quicker 😁
Haha, we actually have one, but it’s always a race to see who gets to it first! 😂 You’re right though-it does make the whole packing process much quicker. Maybe it’s time we invest in a second one! 😁
Just chanced on your channel. Love it so far!
😊 We really appreciate the support and hope you enjoy following along as we make the move! xx
Can’t wait to see the cottage 😍
Wow, that’s quite the journey for those boxes! 😅 It’s so hard to let go of things, isn’t it? Best of luck with your downsizing adventure!
Ohh as soon as you opened your loft I was shattered the thought of it .. worth it in end though 😮❤ good luck in move
Thanks so much! 😅 We definitely underestimated how much stuff we had up in the loft, but you're right-it’ll be worth it in the end! Now just counting down the days until the big move! 🏡🚚
❤
Thank you so much! ❤️ Your support means the world to us!
It was the same when I moved into 2013 in England , paper work charges ect ect , our moving company didn’t help in more ways then one,
Sounds like you had a bit of a rough time with your move too!
Do I WANT it? and - WHY?” Then making the decision to remove it from your life…
Horrible process, but ultimately free-ing.
😂😂😂 only two weeks between a good and a bad haircut cheers Sharyn and Rosie 🇳🇿
😂😂 You're so right, Sharyn and Rosie! I guess I'll just have to wait it out a couple more weeks! 😉 Cheers to you both down in New Zealand!
Boys,do you have the room at the cottage to store all your items😊it's really stressful moving 😊 good luck boys😊❤😊❤
Lots of potential 😂Sharyn and Rosie 🇳🇿
Thanks, Sharyn and Rosie! 😂 Whether it’s the haircuts or the cottage, we’re definitely working with potential! Lots of exciting times ahead! 😊
@@TwoMenTheirDog Adam has quite a military bearing 😆
I would have the cameras as they are for my collection lol seems a shame to me to ruin them and I collect phones as well lol watch to their own 😊
Totally get where you're coming from, Dave!
As lofts go I think this was empty 🙈
Haha, you’re right! 🙈 A few months ago, we had a go at decluttering the loft because it was packed and causing airflow issues. We moved a lot of it to the shed and other cupboards around the house. But now it’s time to be ruthless and get rid of the stuff we don’t need! 😂
Before you move…what colour is on the wall behind your sofa?! 😂
The color is Lick Blue 07! It’s been a favorite of ours, and we’re definitely going to miss it when we move! 😊 Glad you like it! 🎨
😊 Wishing you all the best too! xx
Have you two ever heard of recycling?
We hear you! We actually hate throwing things away too. In fact, there’s a whole section in the video where we set aside items for charity, and anything that couldn’t be reused or donated was taken to the local recycling center. We always aim to repurpose where possible! ♻️😊
Crack on boys ...
Thanks so much! We’re definitely cracking on and keeping the momentum going-lots more to come! Appreciate you sticking with us on this adventure!
why cant you just buy a new home and move in at leisure and them sell your current home?
Thanks for the question! 😊 We actually looked into that option, but with the way property sales and purchases work here, most people need to sell their current home to fund the new one. It would’ve been ideal to have a bit of overlap, but the same-day handover is just the way it worked out! Definitely made for a hectic moving day!
Thanks, @CynthiaEvans-i2f! 👋😊 Waving right back at you!
