These pens are so underrated. For the price of an entry level pen you get a beautiful, solid reliable pen. I have a few of them now and they are legend.
I prefer bottled inks, too, but as with anything else, cartridges and inks vary. I've used cartridges that worked well. Also, I do give new fountain pens a quick wash and rinse. I'm also a fan of the Pilot Metropolitans.
Always helps to flush new pen/nib/converter with a mild warm soapy water then air dry to get rid of all the manufacturing crud! Then check the alignment of the nib tines and might need a little touch of super-super fine grit-see the pen maintenance & nib tuning vids at Goulet pens where I learned all these sorts of things plus they sell such stuff....easy! Thanks I was wondering about this Parker fp as a little bitty pen to fit in my planner pocket!
great tips! I am always in such a rush to get the pen inked so I can try it and any kind of cleaning of pens is my least favorite activity haha. We do have some super fine grit pad for touching up the nib, I will try it on this pen. It's a great little classy looking pen, you will enjoy it!
@@Kamdorian I know Im a bit late, but a bulb syringe is always a quick way to give a pen its initial flush. If you purchase a pilot parallel, it usually comes with a “cleaning converter” which is just a bulb syringe, also perfectly usable
This looks like a good workhorse pen. The nib sounds scratchy, so you could sign on 2,000 grit paper to smooth it out. Using a converter enables you to flush the pen with ink several times and you do not have that opportunity with cartridges.
@@raymondhastings7036 agreed, I enjoy smoother nibs and using the grit paper will definitely help. I always use converters when possible. Cartridges always seem to dry out on me no matter what pen I use them in.
@@Kamdorian I bought this pen a couple of years ago because I wanted to try a fountain pen again after using them in school twenty years ago, and now use it at work for doodling and writing down thoughts. The only way I managed to finish a cartridge without the ink drying and having to clean everything out was using it every day, otherwise it would dry. The skipping disappeared after a few A5 pages of text and totally agree on the darker blue ink. All in all I think it's a great pen for the price, and you already have the ballpoint for when your cartridge inveitably dries
@@TheFerrango ahh yes would have to make it my daily use pen so the cartridge doesn't dry out but I have too many pens to just choose one 😂 the ballpoint on the other hand is actually closest to my daily use pen because I don't have to worry about anything and it's so easy to just click and write a few notes. When I'm craving a buttery smooth flow and the feeling of the nib on the paper then I have too many pens to choose from but my favorite is twsbi eco
you can try a lamy z27 converter (the one with black knob), that should fit well enough for every day use without paying parker's crazy price on their own converters
@@Kamdorian same with me. I have not used cartridges in last two years or so. My pens perform well with converters and yes, they are easy to flush with converters as well. 😁
I bought the fountain pen expecting Parker to be reliable. However, of alllllll my pens this is the worst. I can' t get ink to flow in it but 20% of the time. When it does write it is scratchy, and inconsistent ink flow. POS. Shame on Parker. Perhaps the made in France is an issue but my watermans are all terrific.
Did you try washing it? Maybe it doesn't like some inks? But yes I agree I have had some issues with ink flow and scratchiness as well. Cleaning and new ink helped.
I have all colours of the Jotter in fountain pen, ballpoint and rollerball styles and I've never had any performance issues. Perhaps I just write better than you.

Yea sometimes I'm just so excited to use the pen that I skip the first wash haha..I love the pilot metro just wish it had a better ink converter
Wow, a great video! I can’t wait to try the pen.
Thanks darling, you will love the pen!

Just got mine a week ago.
It 's fantastic!
Nice review,mate!
Awesome, glad you enjoy the pen and my review! Many more to come.

awesome will try that out, thanks for the tip!
Parker pens should only be used with their own refills and converters. You don't quibble about the price....if it's a Parker then it's worth it.
Good bargain on getting the set. I think with a parker converter the pen might perform better. Seems like a EDC kind of pen. Thanks for the video. 😊
Yes I am definitely going to buy a converter for it, cartridges just never work well for me. It's so lightweight and tiny, perfect for EDC!

Try to use Indian parker convertor , it will fit in parker jotter fountain pen.
Good idea, I will try it! Thanks
Now the parker headquarters are in france.
I believe Parker is a proprietary cartridge
good to know thanks!
Hey🙂 What is the difference between this Jotter and the Parker Frontier ?
I am not sure sorry
Well the frontier is bigger also puts more ink on paper while the jotter is slimmer and a bit dry, both on medium nibs😊
My favourite pens
I enjoy them as well!
Almost as good as Pilot Metro
Agreed, I do enjoy the pilot metro more!

Pro tip: Never buy a Parker in India/Nepal/Bangladesh. Even hero pens have better quality there
Good to know, thank you!!
Hello brother can you buy me one and ship it me I will pay
Sorry bud can't do that, I'm sure you can find on Amazon or Alibaba. Good luck!
