The simplification of jonestown leaves out a ton. It’d be useful for education to make a separate reaction, but it’s really rough
In your own time, watch a documentary about the Jonestown Massacre.....
That cult started out with very positive ambition like equality for all, and pray without segregation. But he just got more insane, and we see what he put in this video.
22:17 Not everyone died at Jonestown. Fewer than 100 of the Temple members in Guyana survived the massacre; the majority of survivors either had defected that day or were in Georgetown.
Marshall "Bo" Applewhite of the Heaven's Gate was one of my father's teachers before he had the near death experience that lead him (Bo) to the cult. He's never really talked about him, just said that he couldn't believe it when they found out what happened.
One tragedy of Jonestown is that the group did some really great things before devolving into a toxic cult. A lot of mainstream groups had real respect for them.
The religious left in America still hasn't recovered.
Religious left? The left has its share of crazies, but the right are the religious nuts, NOT the left.
Not sure if the stories or the cartoons were creepier. lol
The whole term. Have you been "drinking the Kool Aid" came from Jonestown. Even though they drank another brand like Kool Aid. The whole thing is insane. There is a movie from 1980 called Guyana Tragedy The story of Jim Jones that explains a lot. Even a politician was murdered while investigating his town. People tried to escape, and some actually did, others weren't so lucky and we're forced to drink the poison laced drink.
I know this is a serious subject, but some of the scenes in this animation are just 😆
Great reaction -x-
Thankfully I have a blessed distrustful nature 😅, which leads me to never believe anyone who tells me insane beliefs! I'm sorry 😔 for these people who trusted a lunatic
Waco the darkness moment in FBI history
I don’t feel bad for any adult that was killed in that, even if they were manipulated by the cult they were participating in a shootout with the FBI so they were already too far gone. Now the kids I do feel bad for, they got a terrible spawn point.
@@williamhardee8863the shootout was with the ATF as it was there raid
I thought it was the ATF?
Yes! Do reactions to all these, most of them documentaries abt them
Jonestown has alot of holes, no mention of the CIA operatives and SAS training regiments in the area in this video
I kept giggling when you said 'how can this get worse?' - Jonestown is famous here in the US, and I remember hearing about it happening when I was a kid. Insanity and megalomania at its worst.
Khmer Rouge probably qualifies as a cult.
People seek to fit in.
You should search up some Jonestown documentaries. They are really interesting.
When they said theyre the 2 i was like oo the beast and the antichrist ok got it
1. Veganism
Piotr is pronounced Peter
Join my cult. We believe in the dreaming singularity. Called the monad,
Its different from the neo gnosticism of the matrix because we agree with cypher.
Its more like the movie inception where he never checks if the top is spinning at the end and just leaves it there to troll the audience
Step one is the depression that sets in when you ponder if panpsychism leads to solipsism
Or if true knowledge itself is absurd.
Step two is don't treat others how you don't want them to treat you. All is one,
Descartes say i think. But i say you don't think, there are thoughts and you are aware of them.
What's the only difference between a cult and a religion? A cult has few enough members that we aren't concerned with offending them by pointing out their insanity.
Religion IS a cult.
Thank you, I needed that 🤣🤣
8:08 I find it somewhat ironic that you pick this moment to voice your concern on how people can be led to believe such outlandish things. The end result in this case, is to ascend to a higher level, by behaving a certain way in life. That's the jist of Judaism, Christianity, and various other religions. If you're good, you go to heaven when you die. Which is what this cult is was also promising, it's main difference being that the creators said it would be their physical form. That fell through so they rewrote that rule, by saying your soul would reach that higher plane, not your body. At that point, it's basically Christianity. So if you believe in Christianity, this would not be far stretch.
The FBI started the fire there's video from a helicopter
