It's fire sickflowz. This was very emotional for the band because these guys were very close to each other like brothers ever since they were young. When he passed away, it was painful for M. Shadows
You should listen to more of Avenged Sevenfold. I don't know if you know but this song is about the drummer. He had an enlarged heart and didn't have much time left and he didn't want to go through the pain, so he had committed suicide. This was such a hard time for them cause they where all really good friends. May you our hearts forever Jimmy "The Rev" Suillivan.

This song is actually made for Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. He had passed away and this song was made to honor him. The entire Nightmare is actually a tribute and the song Fiction was made by the Rev. He wanted it to be named Death because he knew he was going to pass away. Which was the case. 3 days after he sent in the demo for fiction he had passed away. R.I.P Jimmy🙏

If you notice in the video the flashbacks have 5 members and then it progresses to them currently and there's only 4. Also, you don't see a drummer during the entire video.

Synyster wrote this for the Rev. In "Fiction" the lyrics from the rev say "promise me you'll never feel afraid" and I do believe in So Far Away the response is "sleep tight I'm not afraid, the ones we love are here with me"

I love that synyster has “rev” instead of “syn” on his guitar
The Rev had an enlarged heart and was told he wouldn’t live past 30 years old. Instead of a very painful death he decided to mix oxy and alcohol and ended it himself. He was 29.
He didn't end it himself, he was having pain because of his heart, it's likely he didn't know about his enlarged heart, his mum said he was having pain like heartburn the night before, he'd been to a wedding so obviously he had alcohol in his system, he's then taken the drugs to help with the pain, it wasn't intentional
Saw A7X shortly after The Rev passed and they went on The Nightmare After Christmas tour. They did a touching tribute to Jimmy, as well as used his album recordings for songs like Critical Acclaim. 👍🤘

so its never been confirmed but the last song the rev brought to the sudio before he passed read practically as a suicide note :( check out the song by them called fiction. that was his last song he wrote he passed a short time after suddenly.

ALL A7X songs are fire! Huge question there....I lost a daughter n this song is hard to listen to at times along with couple others with same message. It ain't easy n people say just move on n don't dwell, but they don't know....💯 Losing a friend is not same weight of losing a daughter. Life'
I believe Ernie Ball had quote somewhere along the lines of "It's not enough to play the notes, or even play them fast. It's far more important to know why the notes need to be played in that specific way." And this song is the ultimate example of that to me. Does Synyster have far more complex and fast solos? Yes, without question. Do any of his other solos really capture the tone the song is going for and really solidify the message they're trying to send as well as this? In my opinion, not even close. Great guitar work, great lyrics, great vocals, great tribute to a once in a lifetime man.

I like your reaction for real but as a musician myself I feel like their vocalist always uses the same melody. It reminds me of every other song post op since his vocal issues.
