I would love to see someone with a worse swing than Matt give this a try. Meaning someone that is normally inconsistent to see what it is able to correct.
Guys several years ago your review of the VA Vylyn shaft got me to purchase a 55 gram stiff, the best shaft I had ever put in a driver, this year my swing speed/strength dropped and I bought a 55 gram VA Vylyn Regular and love it, the regular gave me back the pop I lost with the stiff shaft. This Autoflex is on the radar now, when you get a certain age you start thinking of spending the money you been saving before the Nursing home gets it all. Well done again, love the tech content and your presentation.
If you put mine and Matt's swings side by side, Matt would look like he's playing a 3/4 shot and I'd look like I was busting my spleen with all my might... and both shots roll out to 270.
As a Canadian Korean golfer living in Mississauga, it brings smile to see this shaft everytime from TXG films. Korean Hidden Technology, how awesome is this?
Love that you guys have continued to test this shaft and not simply ‘discounted it’. I mentioned it at local (chain) club fitter and they simply laughed it off. Fascinating stuff!
These auto flex videos continue to blow my mind! Really interesting to see it at human speed vs Matt speed. Although it was sad to see how slow my swing must look. Lol
This is so ridicilous. I mean if i had the money i would def try it out but 1k, come on. Must say though really appreciate your videos guys 🙌🏻 Keep it up 🥳
Got my Autoflex a week ago and yes you have to get used to it it just feels different, but it is impressive regarding consistency and it is just a wonderful gain in distance. Like something magic goin on in this stick. I am absolutely impressed and do not regret buying these stick any second.
What is your old and new swing speed, handicap and what type of setup did you go with? Please tell...we need to know someone other than Matty the robot handles it..
@@franexley4373 i am a mid 40 aged hcp 5 golfer. My swingspeed is around 95-105 mph differs if summer or winter of course. I had the possibility to test with an flightscope owned by our club pro and directly compare my old driver which was an m5 with a tensei ck pro orange shaft in R flex with the new autoflex sf 505 and an sim driver head. Since i hit them really high i drilled both heads down from 9 degree standard to 7 degree. When i testet i used low compression range balls and it temperature wise it was almost freezing around 1 degree celsius. I hit with every driver about 20 shots and selected the best 10 shots. The meridian of my old setup was carry distance 206,8 meters with the autoflex i could get a meridian of 221,2m. Clubhead speed was 2-3mph higher but impressive has been the jump in smash factor which was 1,31 with the old and 1,44 with the new. Also dispersion with the autoflex has been impressive. Afterall i can say i swing easier with a better result and better dispersion. So happy with the autoflex and really looking forward for summertime with prov1 balls
I am a 88-90 mph swinger and am very short (5'1). I just put a sf405 in my driver at 43.5 inches (I know it's short, but my irons are 3 inches short and 3 degrees flat for reference). It is very hard for me to test clubs since I can't test clubs off the rack. These videos are key for me. I can say from my experience that this shaft is the real deal for slower swingers. I have gained about 10-12 yards to my drives. The really surprising thing is the dispersion. For some reason this shaft is a fairy finder. I never really had a problem with dispersion but this thing is super tight. It's almost as if the bad ones just aren't as bad as they were. I would LOVE to see more content for people who have extreme specs (like super short players). Thanks guys! Great content.
This may well go down as the best TXG video so far, Pure TXG integrity when testing a Product that doesn't conform to accepted norms. But the shaft should definitely be called "Auto-Control" as there has to be some king of Magic Korean Ginseng somewhere in the shaft! PS Matty's slower Swing speeds look so funny, they remind me of the footage of Mr Hogan swinging Super-slow motion.
A couple of important points. 1. super annoying to watch Matt take reduced swings and hit it 270 down the middle consistently, seriously thinking about taking up tennis. Matt don't be upset the only swing I enjoy watching more than yours is Rory's 2. Autoflex is extremely compelling and if your pockets are deep enough you should try it and buy it. 3. if Autoflex came in different colors, would they sell more? a hypothetical but interesting question. 4.Would be great to see people who swing at the three different speeds naturally and see the results. Would love to keep typing but I have to put my clubs to the curb and put tennis equipment on my holiday wish list. Happy Holidays to all the TXG family, thanks for all the great content.
To see what the shaft would do for an average player's clubhead speed....exactly. See them take some rips with a standard driver and then the autoflex. But even if you're getting an extra 5+ mph of clubhead speed is that worth $1100?? I mean I suppose if you're fabulously wealthy🤣🤣 But that's a lot of dough for maybe 15 extra yards on your perfect strikes.
@@chrisgilligan4968 Chris I agree with you, however, there are quite a few guys at my club that would spend almost ANY amount of money to hit it 15 yds farther. Of course, they have plenty of money!
“No one has ever made 270 look as easy as that...” Awesome comment. And that comment by Ian sums up Matt’s swing better than anything ever. And never said about any of us watching this video!
"skeptical because its Matt" YES !! hard not to be, and if the shaft alone would cure my inconsistencies I'd be in for 2 no matter cost... please take whoever is in the bay next to you and let him/her take a few swings
Always trying to find distance for my wife and saw your reviews on autoflex. Found on preowned Callaway an epic max star with the lightest shaft and I ordered. My wife struggled with this driver so I hit it and it and it is in the bag for me. I am 66 and that shaft and head is a clear fairway seeker with more distance than I have had in my current driver.
Another test with various type of shaft model. Excellent testing result was very informative 👍🏻. Please have an average golfer testing or have Matt testing in the courses would provide another perspective.
Matt swinging at this speed really cements what you guys have talked about regarding the optimization of AoA for spin and launch conditions. His carry at 100 mph is absurd.
Great stuff as always, cheers. Would be really interesting to see an analysis of where Matt generates his speed in the swing. I'd find it super helpful as someone who doesn't get much speed out of a fair bit of effort.
What is astounding to watch is, Ian and Matty are conducting this test and as Experts (and they are Professional Experts) are dumbfounded as to how this shaft is so efficient and delivers what it claims. You can see, they are genuinely dumbfounded as to how it works. I love it and gives me confidence their tests are genuine. Soon they’ll come up with the answer why it does what it does, I’m confident of that.
Hi! I´ve just found out that there is a guy here in Sweden selling these shafts...I can push my swing speed to 110 MPH, but out on the course Im around 103-106...On Trackman my ball-speed numbers are 152-156, normally. Couldn´t really figure out what shaft you were using in the early parts of this video (all the details, that is)? Do you guys think that it could suit me? Also, Im playing with a G410 Plus Ping-head. Thanks!
You'll love it!!! Test it and find the right set up then give it a few rounds., I had to relearn my starting lines as it gave me a consistent little draw when I have been playing fades. Picked up 18.5m carry with a tighter dispersion and I still cant make sense of it!!!
Nothing ahainst Matty, but as Ian said in the video you should test these shafts with some proper lower-speed-swinger. Someone who loads the shaft all out but does not swing faster than a certain speed.
HAHAHAHA. THAT WAGGLE TEST. Couldn’t stop 😂 LOL AWESOME.You need Ronny in there!!! I have to say I’m impressed with Matt’s ability to swing it slow but yet stayed controlled. Not easy
That was hilarious, Matt swings, Ian scratches his head as neither have a clue how the damn thing works -- but it works very well. I have a feeling we have just witnessed how Matt will be swinging when aged 60, 70 and 80 respectively Going back to 1995-2000 Yonex had a set of irons (Titanium+) and woods (Biam Titanium) which came in a very soft counter balanced shaft that worked in a similar weigh. With the 5w I could really feel the shaft flexing through impact zone but it was also incredibly straight hitting
104 club head speed, 148 ball speed, 270 yards ... where can I sign up for this? My club head speed is 104, and with a ball speed of around 155 - 270 might show up once every 3 or so rounds, and then only if the course is relative firm!
Cool video, not that I would get one due to the price, but what were you tipping the shafts at, what were the manufacturers tipping recommendations? Thanks
I see you tried a 405x with a driver. Do you know why they dont list a 405X for a driver shaft on their website. It shows 305, 305X, 405, 505, 505X, 505XX for their 45" driver shafts. I only see a 405x listed in their F43" W wood shafts. For driver, it shows 405 is 85-100 SS, 505 is 95-100 SS, so some overlap. So, if there was a 405X, seems it would be very close to what the 505 is supposed to be. So, did they rename the 405x to the 505? I got to try the 505 on 2 occasions recently and really liked it. Just very smooth and didnt feel like you had to work as hard to try and put a good swing on it, and yet dispersion was very good, which you just dont expect from a whippy shaft. Just hard to justify that amount of money. Like any shaft, it may work for some, but likely not work for all. Seems Adam Scott is trying it out, so imagine that may get it more credibility.
Have Matt try the Autoflex at 45 or 45 1/4, at his normal speed with his optimal autoflex shaft/setup. I bet it beats his “gamer” on accuracy and distance.
Do you guys have a high speed (120frames/sec) camera that can show the shaft loading shape from the transition to the impact? It would be interesting if you can compare with other "normal" shafts.
Thx for the awesome testing! But does the autoflex shaft generate that much more ballspeed? Seems from the test that it’s not that much significant faster. I would love to try it ... but 900$ ?!?
What are you guys using as a tee, here? I've been thinking about / looking at indoor simulator tee options since I keep breaking my tees :) I like the idea of the little foam / rubber pyramid. Thanks!
I would really love to see a true 15-20 handicapper with 90-95 mph speed on the show swinging this thing. Will be calling my buddies/relatives out in korea if the shaft still performs.
It's amazing how Matty is able to hit the ball well at any speed he wants, but commonly the people who swing at those speeds are medium-high handicapers who sucks at hitting the ball in the middle of the face. So to really test the autoflex shaft, one of this high hándicap guys have to test it.
Is there a chance that the impact of the ball is triggering the kick? Like a variation of a non-newtonian fluid response to applied force? Or should I recognize it's 3am and go to bed?
You originally stated that you wouldn't put the G410LST on the shaft .. is that still true? I have a SS of 100-103 with a ball speed between 146-150 with a stock G410LST, with an Alta CB 55 S shaft .. carry is 257-262.
I stock autoflex in the UK and have found the accuracy that the shaft gives for both off centre hits and clubpath/face differences are even more beneficial than the extra distance. For me the TSi driver is as long as any other driver with Autoflex is the longest straightest driver ever hit.
@@franexley4373 by far the TSi is best driver head of this year. It will be interesting to see how the others match up. I think ping G425 will push it on consistency. It really needs to be fitted to get the right swing weight. The Autoflex manufacturers advise a swing weight of D1-D1.5 for best performance.
Let's be honest lads I don't need a new driver or shaft and if I did I couldn't afford this! I saved this video to watch as a treat. Golf porn. Love it.
I would think this shaft [even more than most] would be important to FLO. [Spine]. Are the shafts you’re testing out of the box installed….or have they been spine oriented?? Thx. Don
A little disappointed Matt didn't hit the noodle version at 110+ to show what happens if you buy the wrong version. That bit of amusement aside, awesome video. Love my Ventus Blue but this is really tempting.
I hate how good this shaft is. It's just teasing all of us. A grand for a shaft is insane, but now you know every time you get fit or buy a driver and walk out without that shaft you are leaving significant performance benefits on the shelf.
Would this shaft be the exception to the rule of driver and fairway wood should not be the same shaft??? Plus how would it react in a fairway wood build???
Let Ronnie have a go at the autoflex in the future guys. That would be a great test
Was literally thinking the same thing, went on the comments to post and saw this. Totally agree. Let’s see a normal human swing the autoflex!

This shaft makes about as much sense as just about anything this year.
Hi....What head do you find is the best combination with the Autoflex. Also, what length do you like to play this driver / shaft combo?
@@franexley4373 by far the TSi is best driver head of this year. It will be interesting to see how the others match up. I think ping G425 will push it on consistency. It really needs to be fitted to get the right swing weight. The Autoflex manufacturers advise a swing weight of D1-D1.5 for best performance.
So WHERE DO YOU BUY THEM?
Let's be honest lads I don't need a new driver or shaft and if I did I couldn't afford this! I saved this video to watch as a treat. Golf porn. Love it.
How is it physically possible for that man to take a half swing and for it to go 275?
kvgolfa who are you, DeChambeau? The tour average isn’t even 300 yards
@@rzimm8229 He's not wrong though. Proper technique is paramount. And he's also using a TSi2, which definitely helps.
Penley golf shafts need to be reviewed. cool idea on the auto flex working across all swing speeds.
I would think this shaft [even more than most] would be important to FLO. [Spine]. Are the shafts you’re testing out of the box installed….or have they been spine oriented?? Thx. Don
Matt over here hitting 275 yard pitch shots 😂
Need to test with average golfers to see if it makes any difference for a non-pro swing
It doesn’t, Rick shiels already tested it and it didn’t do anything
A little disappointed Matt didn't hit the noodle version at 110+ to show what happens if you buy the wrong version. That bit of amusement aside, awesome video. Love my Ventus Blue but this is really tempting.
Whenever I hear Autoflex I can only think of a Transformer 🤣
"Autoflex, ROLL OUT!"
So if the shaft is so stable, would it make a 48” driver more practical?
Insane. Both the price and the output delivered. Matt must be a son of Iron Byron.
I hate how good this shaft is. It's just teasing all of us. A grand for a shaft is insane, but now you know every time you get fit or buy a driver and walk out without that shaft you are leaving significant performance benefits on the shelf.
It's stunning to see how whippy it is when he waggles it just past the 13 minute mark.
If you get these shafts for Christmas, Santa's elves took a page out of Grand Theft Auto to deliver them.
9.39... epic look on Mr Fraser's face.. 😆
Who else buy Matty would like he hitting a wedge shot to 275 lol! well done man well done
Would this shaft be the exception to the rule of driver and fairway wood should not be the same shaft??? Plus how would it react in a fairway wood build???
