CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Sidney (Neve Campbell) gives the killers a taste of their own medicine as she dons the Ghostface mask.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Scream is at once a slasher film and a tongue-in-cheek position paper on the "dead teenagers" movies of the late 1970s/early 1980s that plays as half-parody, half-tribute. Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is having a rough time lately: she's still getting over the brutal rape and murder of her mother a year ago, and now one of her friends (Drew Barrymore) has been killed by a lunatic who harassed her with terrifying phone calls, then stabbed her to death while wearing a Halloween costume. Soon Sydney is receiving similar phone calls, quizzing her on the arcane details of such films as Friday the 13th and Prom Night, and is attacked by the same cloaked maniac. With her father missing, she has hardly anyone on her side except her best friend Tatum (Rose McGowan) and Tatum's brother Dewey (David Arquette), a half-bright cop. As for the murderer, it could be any number of people: Syd's father; her cute but overly intense boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ullrich); Tatum's goofball boyfriend Stuart (Matthew Lillard); or Randy (Jamie Kennedy), who works at the local video store and seems to like horror movies just a little too much. Much like Halloween, Scream spawned a series of sequels and inspired a large number of similar films -- its original working title, Scary Movie, became the title of the 2000 parody film by Damon Wayans.

Lmao "peer pressure, im far too sensitive"
"My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me"
😂😂😂
it was the way he said it that made me lose it
Solaria Aquaria anyone from this generation as killers tbh 😂😂😂
Stu is easily one of my favourites horror movie villians, love him 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The fact that Stu is more afraid of his parents than the cops, is a hilarious.
Jessica Inga not to mention bleeding out
Realistic**
Exactly!!
Lily 1.2k thumbs up but 1 sub lol
I actually feel sorry for stu
"My mom and dad are going to be so mad at me..." 😂 I love stu. I don't care he's ghost face.
it was the best part 😂😂 I died 😂😂😂
Fun fact; Matthew Lillard ad-libbed that line and Wes Craven kept it in because he thought it was fucking hilarious--and he wasn't wrong.
It always crack me up when he cry like a bitch 😂
Sir chubby, here's another fact, in "in the name of the king" lilard did the same "I think I'm dying man" Line too
Man, this movie is a gem for lines.
Everyone focuses on Matthew Lillard in this scene, but Skeet Ulrich going into over the top psycho rage mode is golden. I lost it when he took the knife to the couch screaming.
I mean find another actor that can act like an actual dying person
@@williamswain2303Matthew Lilard is amazing yes, But still give Skeet Ulrich his due. He was so convincing in his role. Skeet really brought the intensity to this movie.
HILARIOUS!
Lol. Yeah him just ripping the couch apart in a blind rage is kind of hilarious (if you remove the psycho killer part).
Another fun fact: Billy's reaction to the second umbrella hit was genuine. He had a foam pad on his chest that the stuntman was suppose to hit, he hit the first one fine but the second one missed the pad and actually hurt billy for real. This movie is full of trivia I love it
Imagine how bad the stuntman must have felt
Neve did the same thing in scream 3 she really stabbed poor Scott foley in the back
The worst part is I believe billy had surgery at that spot so it hurt even more than usual
@@ethanisgood6384 yeah he has metal wiring by his heart so getting hit there really hurts
Neve should be sued for Skeet Ulrich real injury. He had surgery on that area. So technically, he could be a rich man
Interesting fact: Billy wasn't supposed to hit Stu with the phone, but Wes Craven liked his reaction so much that he kept it in the movie.
Yeah, the phone slipped out of Skeet's hand (because the blood was slippy) and accidentally bounced off Lillards neck. The reaction was genuine, and that line was improved. Great acting, and fantastic directing, keeping the cameras rolling!
Steven Jess
Yeah. But, that stuff made me laugh!
sethwinters35 And in lord of the rings when lurtz throws the dagger and aragorn slashes it away.
And here's a little fact: the phone actually slipped out of Skeet's hand. He didn't really throw it. It slipped off his hand and it hit Matthew hella hard. It made me laugh, though!
@@jessfilmscape nah it wasn't acting it was real.
Lol kids like you don't know what acting is lol
5 things I love about this scene:
1. Billy answers the phone really politely.
2. Stu answers the phone really politely.
3. Stu's motive is that he's too sensitive.
4. Skeet hitting Matt with the phone was real.
5. MY MOM AND DAD ARE GONNA BE SO MAD AT ME D:
@TheDestroyer2alltrolls he said he's far too sensitive, dummy. Pay attention to the scene.
6. Billy raging and stabbing the hell out of those pillows, leaving his arm covered in feathers
7. Sidney’s badassery over the phone
8. When it’s ringing him saying “should I let the machine get it” so calmly like nothings going on
9. Billy putting the phone *gently* down on Stu's shoulder.
I love Stu. He's a Pyscho, yeah I know, but he's a funny one.
I love this moive
You have good taste
My thoughts exactly.
I know
Billy is the more psychotic, i knew that billy was one of the killers when he dropped the phone, at least stu did a better job at maintaining his cover until he was at his house.
Sidney turning the tables on Billy is literally one of the most badass horror movie moments ever
Badass indeed
Sidney is legit one of the best main characters in horror. She becomes so tough and smart over the movies, I don't know why people still mess with her lol.
Same with Randy, if he survived
I only see Scream because of how badass Sidney defeats Ghostface. Not being the crying Final girl and the damsel in distress.
I 110% agree, but because I'm a dumbass I cried because I love Billy 💀
The umbrella hitting the actor’s chest actually made him scream for reals because it was the exact spot where he had open heart surgery as a kid.
Damn. Learn something new everyday
You mean the phone.
@@nonyabiz9229 at 1:55, even I can feel that watching it
Well it was mainly because she missed the protective vest he was wearing and stabbed him for real
@@nonyabiz9229 no
FUN FACT- When billy hit Stu with the phone that was his real reaction, they decided to keep it in the film.
FUN FACT: when Sid stabs Billy with the umbrella he was wearing a protective vest and the tip was retractable but the second hit missed the vest and hit the scar from a past surgery.
Fun Fact: Paul Walker died trying to shoot a ff scene :)
Audry Martinez FUN FACT- Scream was originally called scary movie
Fun fact stu ended up finding a dog and they met new friends and decided to go on Adventures and unmask people
So is the line about his parents.
I lost it when he said "did you really call the police?"
lmao same
Andy My mom and dad are gonna be SO MAD at me!!!!
Me too lol
why? how is that funny...at all?
@@damarcomusik639 is just it 😬
Stu sold this who scene really well. He's just dumb enough to not realize that the plan was never for him to survive, as well. Way too trusting, and his biggest concern is that his parents are going to be mad at him.
This is dark humor GOLD!
It's called good director.
Imagine if disaster movie director directed this movie? Lol
See, that’s the thing, everyone’s saying they find his lines here funny, but they just make me feel super uneasy and unsettled. I don’t consider this a comedy, just cause it’s satire, so maybe that’s why. But his reactions genuinely creep me out and the performance from Stu is just so great, that I just find it straight up convincing that this is some dumb messed up kid who’s just trying to live his twisted fantasy with his friend who got him on that adrenaline rush in the first place.
Y’all....every line Stu has during this scene is improv
Wait Billy planned to turn on Stu and kill him?
Gino Siguencia I think so because Billy wanted to get away with all of this so he needed someone to frame incase he got caught.
Matthew Lillard should've won an Oscar for this movie. The way he completely falls apart in this scene is amazingly done.
Fun fact: Billy actually accidentally threw the phone at Stu, he said his hands were slippery & didn’t mean to throw it at him. The scene where Sidney stabs Billy with the umbrella, the second hit was actually real. She missed the padded part.
This is like revenge
She did the same thing in Scream 3. She also hit the stuntman in the side of the head with a framed picture too hard in Scream 4. Neve Campbell just can't stop hurting people lol
"My mom and dad are going to be so mad at meeeeeeeee!...."
LMAO Stu said it like his parents were going to ground him and take away his Xbox for killing people.
He would've deserved it, of course. Wait no, he deserved to have his parents let him go to PRISON.
@@shateeqsmith he died fool
What if his parents are also killers and Stu meant he'll be grounded for doing a sloppy job and getting caught?
That line was actually unscripted.
Back then it would have been play station!
*Phone rings*
Stu: "Should I let the machine get it ???"
+Christopher O'Neil lol i just now caught that. and i've seen this movie a ton lol

Billy going on a rampage in the living room was hilarious
If there is a Scream 5, I think Judy Hicks will reveals herself as a killer.
1. She revealed in Scream 4 that she was a fellow high school student to Sidney.
2. In Scream, there was definitely a third killer.
3. I believe that Judy was Loomis' secret girlfriend and that she helped Billy without even Stu knowing. In the house chase scene, she chased Sidney out of the window.
4. She may have scouted for Billy outside and in the convenience store.
5. In Scream 3, she was recruited by Roman Bridger to serve as the "back-up" killer. Roman met her and Billy as he instructed Billy on how to kill Roman's and Sidney's mother. Billy and Stu did the killing but Judy provided the logistical support.
6. In Scream 3, she came out of the basement to chase Jennifer upstairs and she eventually killed Jennifer!
7. In Scream 4, Hicks is sweet on her boss, Sheriff Dewey Riley, and his wife (Gale)suspects it.
8. Hicks carried out the murders of Rebecca Walters and those two police officers, unbeknownst to the two teen killers Charley and Jill. There is no way a pint-sized Jill could have killed those officers and there is no way could have picked Walter's body up and then threw it from the terrace. 5'7" well-built Hicks could.
9. For this but mainly other reasons, Dewey and Gail separate and divorce after 13 years of marriage.
10. Riley and Hicks date six months later and get married 6 months after that. They have a child 9 months after the wedding.
11. Gale eventually meets and dates someone as a partner.
12. In Scream 5, both Gale and Sid come to Woodsboro because they feel after 10 years of Scream 4 killings, they both feel there are unanswered questions. They both feel they was an extra killer in Scream 1,3,and 4, and possibly 2. They want to find out whom once and for all.
13. Hicks dons the Ghostface Costume for the last time. She gets an accomplice to help and Dewey Riley kills them both to save Sid and Gale, not realizing who those killers are.
Harsha Sankar Interesting. Except, I don’t think there’s going to be a Scream 5
@@joewhitehead3 You may be right. It would be nice to have the 25 year anniversary movie to find the remaining pieces of the puzzle!

Billy Loomis and Stu Macher are the best scream killer's of all
Stu was the only one that was logical to be in another movie. If you observe closely you could see Stu was still breathing after being electrocuted. O_O
Ya. They could have easily wrote it so his body gets switched at the moruge because his face is so mangled.. survives somehow and escapes and everyone thinks he's dead.
Originally Stu was supposed to be in Scream 3 but they ditched the idea until the TV series The Following which took elements of that rejected plot and formed it into the plot line of that show, although they changed it to Joe Carroll instead of Stu Macher. Look it up.
stu is alive but in jail
Stu was rumored to return in Scream 3, but the idea was scrapped for some reason. Billy could not return because Gayle, or Courtney Cox, shot in the forehead, so was done. Stu was electrocuted when Sidney dropped the television on him, but some people could still survive that.
"Peer pressure, I'm far too sensitive" 💀
Stu was such a scene stealer. In the theaters, the crowd was laughing hysterically. Definitely a movie people should have experienced in a theater.
0:43 Stu, an actual murderer
Also Stu: Hello 🥺
You forget he's bleeding out that makes your thought process very obscure to where your worried about stuff that seems stupid or maybe your seeing your family it's the whole "I'm feeling a little woozy here man" I mean it doesn't stop at that scene some would argue he was on the verge of death when he picked up the phone needless to say he's losing oxygen and hes not breathing right his brains going loopy it's honestly the most authentic thing to happen after multiple stab wounds and your friend just seems like he wants to kill you
His "hello" was so cute 😂
His face when she calls him a pansy Momma's boy kills me every time!
It's like she had punched him hahaha
Such a great line. Sums up his entire motive in a cruel, yet perfect way.
"Peer Pressure. I'm far too sensitive." I fucking love that part
you hit mE WITH THE PHONE DIIICK!!! lmao i love that part
I heard in the original script Billy didn't hit Stu with the phone but Billy's actor accidentally hit Stu's actor with the phone and Wes Craven loved the idea
SAME BRO! Im gonna miss stu so much!
BUNCHofxs my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me 😭 lol 😂 - stu
BUNCHofxs so do i
Glad he kept it in the movie
This whole scene is like a perfect mix of off-script and on-script stuff. They all kept playing their parts despite certain things and they did it like pros. They could always do things all over again but I'm glad the final product is as it is bc it's pure GOLD
The way Stu whimpered when he got hit with the phone is so funny concidering that bit was off script
Stu is clearly the most insane ghostface out of them all. anyway you look at it this guy is purely the best
Billy and Mickey are up there too.

Matthew Lillard is an acting legend! Without him this movie wouldn’t be memorable.
No it still would, but it wouldn’t be the same without him. He’s a legend
Bro I never heard that before XD
I love that Billy's hands are covered in couch fluff after ripping the couch apart lol
Lol!! Yeah. It's hard for Billy to be scary with that. I wish Billy lived through the other movies.
@@jerry-glenlovell8570 yeah but kinda hard to say he miraculously survived getting not only stabbed twice but shot point blank in the head. hm.. and the chest too now that I think about it
@@rosevee34 I meant I wish they hadn't killed him. I would have made it to where he still got stabbed (it couldn't have gone deep enough to do any real damage) but I would have made it to where the bullet got his arm or leg or something. I would have had him shoot the reporter and shoot Randy in the face instead of shoulder. I would have had stu the hospital and locked up while Billy escaped into the woods(the house was very close to a forest and if he ran he could have easily lost them in the trees. I've done that several times as Trevor on GTA after I go on a stabbing spree) and keeps killing people. Maybe have it to where Sidney shot him with a flare gun or something to mess his face up too.
@@rosevee34 oh and fun fact about the stabbing: the second stab was actually real. He was wearing a vest to keep from getting hurt but the second stab missed the vest and hit a scarred area that the actor had as a result of a surgery. So ah yeah if the umbrella stab didn't kill the actor then I don't think it would kill the character. Especially since the character is a psychopath.
@@jerry-glenlovell8570 wow, I didn't know that. well a human being is still a human being, it might take more to kill a psychopath, but they can still be killed.
"My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at meeeee."
The delivery of that line was absolutely SPOT ON.
"Should I let the machine get it???" 😂😂 I love Stu! Lmao
Ulrich wore a protective vest beneath his shirt to help prevent harm while a stuntwoman attacked him with it. The second thrust missed the vest and stabbed Ulrich on his chest, impacting a wound from an open heart surgery operation. Ulrich's genuine pain was captured on film and used in the release version of Scream.

Oh wow :(
Ouch! 😣
I mean it was only the second hit though
@@williamswain2303 it’s a pretty delicate procedure from my understanding, I wouldn’t be surprised if it still hurt to get hit there after it’s healed. Besides, even if he didn’t have open heart surgery, getting hit in the chest like that with a sharp object is still gonna hurt, and if I remember right, she missed the protective padding.

Matthew Lillard's performance is crazy good! (pun intended)
They actually prefer the term psychotic
I didn’t realize the phone part was a mistake/improv, that’s awesome.
Another fun fact: They mentioned when they were doing the 20th anniversary panels that the second time Neve stabs Skeet with the umbrella, that was a real cry of pain. She missed the protection he was wearing and nailed him right in his surgery scar. If you look closely you can see the armor through his shirt and sure enough, she gets him right above it.
This was brilliant. Sidney called for help, but an isolated location means that help would take time to arrive so she had to fend off Billy and Stu until then. It was the same situation 25 years later when they were fighting Amber and Richie.
Gale made this possible but the movie established that Sidney and Gale did not like each other yet they put aside their differences to survive. Something they could have learned from in Bodies Bodies Bodies.
Took me a while to figure out how Billy knew where Sidney was hiding. The movie Halloween was still playing and you could hear the scene where Laurie is struggling with the coat hanger. Billy heard that too and he just put 2 and 2 together.
I never realized that. I just figured he heard her or something
idk if he put two and two together or if he's mind was just so far gone in Movie Land that he assumed Sidney must'd been doing the same as Laurie
Fun fact: When Skeet Ulrich threw the phone it was accidental, The fake blood was so slippery that it flew out of his hand and accidentally hit Matthew Lillard. Wes Craven kept this scene in because of Matthew's reaction
Is it me or does Skeet (Billy) looks like Johnny Depp

Matthew Lillard was brilliant here, even though it was funny, he used the lines to remind us that even though they're psychopathic killers, they're still kids. Brilliant acting.
Fun fact: The second umbrella stab was meant to hit the pad under his shirt but the stunt worker missed and Skeet Ulrich was actually stabbed. Skeet Ulrich had had open heart surgery as a child and whenever the wiring gets hit or suffers immense pressure its incredibly painful. His reaction is completely genuine a Wes Kraven left it in the film.

When Stu gets hit with the phone, that actually wasn't part of the script. Ulrich's hands were covered in so much fake blood that the phone slipped out of his hands, therefore making Stu's quote an improvised moment.

0:26 "Like, zoinks scoob, I think I'm like, dying over here"
stu is the most relatable slasher in horror film history
The fact that skeet hit him with the phone cause he kept making him laugh during the takes makes it all the more hilarious. 😂
Billy has so much rage. It’s both sad and scary. I guess that’s the point.
Skeet Ulrich had a pad on for when the umbrella hit him but it hit him in the wrong spot at 1:53 and his reaction was his genuine reaction of getting hurt.

You know...stu's reaction is funny, "my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me" but...at the same time, you gotta understand...guilt is a powerful thing. I had a dream that I had killed someone and no one knew it was me. I felt so guilty and I knew eventually that the cops were going to find out who did it. And my reaction when the guilt hit me was the same as Stu's "my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me." So in a way, I feel sorry for Stu.
