So many great singers from that little island Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown,Al Campbell,Joseph Hill, Horace Andy,Sugar Minott (could go on and on ) all with a sound of their very own
I could easily name 50 wonderful JA singers---more like 100. And you're right, each with their own distinctive style. I've often marveled at the amount of talent in this tiny third world country and wondered what set JA apart from all the others. Is it herb or is it something else?
And the musicians too. That's why I could never get the Dancehall and Digital dub. How can you replace all that musical talent and chemistry with a bontempi organ? I think it was the time frame, to be honest if you look at all music from the 50's to present. It started off good then got better and better untill about 1981 then got worse and worse with the odd exception to this rule.

There’s reggae sound and then there’s reggae sound. One has to be at a certain place to be truly immersed in a sound like this one. Top shelf!!
