  • unboxing of the Unimig Viper 135 multi-process welder. Mig Tig Stick.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a $399 multi-process welder from Sydney Tools. Now I use ‪@UNIMIG‬ 350 amp multi mig tig and Stick at work which we have 2 off, and also their 500 amp machine and I can not fault them. They have great adjustability and handle the punishment of all-day welding and fabrication. This machine was purchased for quick little fixes when I didn't want to be dragging around a heavy machine. now this machine was clearly intended for the at-home welder but I'm going to give it a hiding on the property and onsite and see what this thing can really do. I watch a lot of these welder tests, and I finally found one that speaks my language and demonstrates every facet ideally. Props to you!

This little welder has actually surprised me, I was expecting to hit the duty cycle often as I'm giving it hell but I can't fault it. It's smoth and seems reliable. It's easy to use as I've said $399 from Sydney tools I don't think you can go wrong.

@@thisismylife2145do ya reckon this welder would be any good for bodywork on an old holden?

@JimmyJohnson7077 I personally haven't welded anything that thin with this welder as of yet, but the settings are quite adjustable in the low end.

Great video and glad i seen this. I'm wanting to weld up a bike frame and am looking at this viper to do the job, but the tube walls on bikes are quite thin, so do you think this would work ok🤔

Is the bike steel, aluminium. That is a start. Or is it chrome molly. Personally I've always used a tig for work on bikes. But in saying that times have called for braising and mig. This mig using solid .6 mm wire and argon mix would be fine. I recommend practise practise practise though.

Does it need gas or is it a no gas welder

You can run flux core wire in this welder. If you get a regulator, you can also run solid wire and gas.

How the actual fark do you take the gas nozzle off? I cooked mine and it took me an hour to get if off. The spring self destructed as well. Terrible design

Just twisting it will get it off. Although it's not a tread it still works like one. I keep different consumables for different jobs. I'll have a defuser that's mangled and use that for flux core, then a nice clean defuser and nozzle for gassed wire.

I’m very new to welding how do u set up the helmet I attempted it but I’m not sure if I did it right

Put the darkness setting on 11, this will suit most low voltage welding. Set your sensitivity around half way. If it has a on button hit that and off you go

Do you keep the cover on or off

I work in some pretty filthy environments, so I always keep the cover on
