Not all potted plant wild magic surges are bad! The Wild Magic Sorcerer in my previous campaign actually survived *because* of that. The party were fighting animated trees and the sorcerer got cornered and pummeled down to single digit hit points. On their turn they got a wild magic surge and rolled the potted plant outcome. The animated trees no longer viewed them as a threat because they were now a fellow plant, and went off to attack someone else instead.
I love your videos Jacob (Hi from Toronto)! I bought my very first D&D book today (Starter Set) because of you and your amazing videos. I wish all the best for you, Spencer, Craig and everyone else as well. Congrats on the baby, you guys seem like you'll be badass parents and thanks for introducing me to D&D Edit: This comment makes me sound like I have a huge ego sorry, I just think you guys are awesome!
Kings of the Wyld is a high fantasy book where adventuring bands are written as rock music groups and its super well done. The MC is the tank (bass player) who basically everyone forgets about but holds the group together
It's wild how you are talking about parents and emotions, etc and how much of that shit is so similar to what I have been through too! I was constantly at my mom's throat and I was out the moment I reached 18. That was the moment I started to talk to her more and more to the point I can now genuinely stand her again. At this point I am also learning a shit load about myself and human emotions in general (autism here, I hope that explains the sentence) and a lot of that stuff is also rubbing off on people around me, like being honest about who you are and how you feel. It is absolutely refreshing!
Hey Jacob, Just eating a bagel and then nothing else for the rest of the day won't really help you lose weight. I used to weigh 400 lb, now I'm down to 255. In case you're wondering how I did it, intermittent fasting. I normally eat two meals a day between noon and 6 and the meals are usually low-carb high-protein, I usually eat about half a pound of meat and and any kind of low carb side dish like, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, french cut green beans, any vegetable that's low carb. I also found this Keto ice cream, the brand name is "Rebel" Depending on the flavor, it only has 4 to 8 grams of net carbs per pint. I usually have one of those on the weekends to help me keep my sanity.
In a previous episode, Craig stated that Lazarus “Wouldn’t exist without ghost in your stereo by the midnight”. In that song, the chorus includes “Just like *Lazarus* you’ll know / There’s an operator”. Is that where he got his name? (FYI I’m aware podcast questions are asked in Twitter. I don’t have Twitter.
Loosely related to the wild magic sorcerer bit, but one of my favorite parts about Fizban's is that there's a non-zero chance of a dragon dying and briefly turning into a potted plant.
46:00 I played the flesh golem that the Abbott is trying to marry off to Strahd as a Sorcerer and that shit was so fun until my party thought it was a good idea to kill me because Strahd asked them to
Completely with Craig. I'm pissed off it took this long to get a Spelljammer book. At this point I have no faith it it anyway, but now it exists so I am compelled to get it and check it out since I've wanted it for 8 years now.
I'm currently still playing my first character, a Barbarian in Dragon Heist. I plan for him to be a Zealot, and if the DM approves of his revised backstory, a Phantom Rogue wielding a Sun Blade battle-axe. Since the rules for Sneak Attack just say you need to use a finesse weapon but not use Dexterity, I can still use the Sun Axe for Sneak Attack and just Reckless Attack to get the advantage I need mwahahaha! (I should clarify we're planning to do Dungeon of the Mad Mage after we finish Dragon Heist)
man,, I got that Adderall prescription recently too, and I entirely get what you mean. it makes the day better but also really wacky and bonkers sometimes when you forget to eat or stop thinking
I once had a flask of liquid Wild Magic on my Kobold Swashbuckler and I drank it during our fight against a Red Dragon and uuuuuh... I turned myself into a pot, the Red Dragon then did his breath attack on the entire party and I just got turned into ash without question. I laughed my ass off, it was the funniest thing.
So I listen to these at work, on night shift, and when they said sonic spoilers I can to lightly jog behind my machine to pause the video before they said anything. I want to eventually see sonic so no spoilers lol
I’m with Spencer about not liking dungeons and Jacob’s argument was hilariously bad about going into different rooms as for not being stuck in one place for too long because your still in the same place. I’m not a fan and usually make my dungeons short so they don’t take too long because I’m not a fan of dungeon crawls for the most parts, I’m not that good at designing a complex structure like a dungeon can be while still being interest as well as it can limit what kinda of monsters you can run into. I usually just like to stay topside with that being able to provide a wide variety of fights and just have an easier time designing overworld rather than dungeons. As a player I also not a fan of dungeons because if it’s a large one it sucks to be stuck in a place for multiple sessions when you just want to go do other things but you can’t
so Jim Carey was a high school dropout and I found out that before he left he went to the same highschool as I did. Northview Heights isnt a great school but it will always have that going for it
On good thing that you got diagnosed is that you are having a child and it can be hereditary. There should be no stigma in this mental health issue. There are more stratagies It’s like : hey you’re not in MY brain!
Hey, can I get some good semi-objective knowledge from you folks? I have a question on a Kickstarter for Loot+Lore/Lairs+Legends. It's abnormally expensive ($100 just for the PDFs so this better be awesome) so I want to make sure it's worth it. The easiest way to do that is to look at reviews of Into the Fey (this author's previous Kickstarter.) and see how it compared to other things of this type (Wild Beyond the Witchlight). For some reason, I can't find a review for "Into the Fey". I did find an actual play- but sometimes if you don't fall in love with the characters, you find yourself hating the adventure when the characters were the thing you didn't like. There really needs to be more coverage of these 3rd party books.
Cars is the best movie ever. I have never seen it, but since you have come out against it I feel like arguing. Cars is the perfect Pixar movie because it is inherently universal; in other words, it synthesizes action. I totally didn't plagiarize the last sentence from a site I looked up while googling "Why Cars Is the best pixar film".
Mans is taking a widely prescribed medication for ADHD that doesn't work the same for folks with it as without, like not being addictive to people with ADHD. Chill and let him make his own medical decisions.
"Woke up...took the nastiest dookie of 2022, then got out of bed"

37:25 This is cool to hear now that Descend has started.
Three minutes in an Jacob is already maligning the health profession. DRILL TIME FOR THAT TOOTH OF YOURS, BUDDY
"Adderall make me eat less, hot girl summer"
XD, times like these remind me why I love these people.

I love Wild Magic, Reincarnate saved me twice, 1 from a fireball killing me, and 2 from being trapped in the Astral plane as I bled to death
The word you were looking for is geek, not nerd. Nerds are obsessed with academics while geeks are obsessed with pop culture.

Yup! Ghost and Sunset.
@@Capflowers Oh shit real craig?
Fingers crossed for your house troubles being resolved - I'm going through the same process right now, it's a nightmare.
Also, so happy for you Jacob regarding your meds working out! I really want to try some adhd/anti anxiety meds but haven’t taken the leap yet.
I came for the dnd talk, but stayed for the conversation on different generational love languages.
I love you guys, take the time you need when your daughter comes and when you move. We’ll be here when you come back❤️

I literally didn't register the balls after Craig in the title until it came up.

As someone with a one year old baby, I think you should think more like three months minimum🤣 Very good luck to you both!
You may not like Darth Vader. But you better like Dark Helmet

I think the way Pathfinder 2e does encumbrance is much better.

Ive only played NPC wizards
Sonic 2 - a lot of the human bits got in the way of the fun, 3 should be just sonic and game cast in my opinion.
Want me some Jarlaxle
