When people are angry at "Money doesn't buy happiness" is because they've been told that when they can barely make enough to meet rent. There's no way to be happy if you're constantly stressed about whether you're going to survive this month or not.
Money can buy the bottom of the hierarchy of needs. It can free up more time, resources, and physical and mental energy to do things that one finds more fulfilling.
After my father married into a wealthy family, I think he forgot what it was like to be dirt poor. Because when I talk about being depressed because I have to work three jobs to support my family and even then we struggle with food security sometimes, and my dad will say something like "The happiest I have ever been was when I was broke"- makes me think he forgot the struggle. Got cozy. People with money say money can't buy happiness, but if offered to swap places with a poor person, they would literally never take it. It's something they say to make them feel better or less guilty for the comfort the have.

Millions of people die every year, a literal homelessness crisis exploding, millions of children fell into poverty last year, and a handful of lucky ones will say "wow I guess everything does work out in the end" We can do better. Acknowledge our luck, and at the very least Acknowledge those who were not as fortunate as us.
If I could change the Bard, I'd give them an Eldritch Invocation sort of feature, but instead its Performances (to keep it open for players to use other forms of art besides music). The Bard could learn different performances that buff allies, they could even have maybe 1 or 2 that specifically do something for each class. Like for Fighters maybe they get the max temp hp from Second Wind or something, or Barbarians could gain advantage against certain conditions. You could even have a duet ability where if another Bard does a Performance, you could give them a little bonus like some temp hp or something. I think it would sell the Bard's flavour as a storyteller and its mechanics as a support caster so much more.

At the time of the printing of the book "Art & Arcana: A Visual History", the artists featured have their art showcasing how D&D originated all the way to the launch of 5th Edition and a little beyond. What's cool about the book is that the artists were asked what their own personal favourites were, and it got a small badge indicating such next to the art. On page 390 the 5e DMG cover fills the whole page, and the badge says it's Tyler Jacobson's favourite. Also, most if not all the 5e sourcebooks and adventure books have a little "On the Cover" excerpt found in the credits page near the front (next to some funny disclaimers I always look forward to reading). For The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, it mentions how the child on the back cover is none other than an 8-year-old Tyler Jacobson. He's officially immortalized on a cover, and I hazard to guess it's probably more of a thank you from WotC for his wonderful work than as a personal self-insert. Jacob: If you read this, I think your cover-rating video would benefit somewhat from reading these little excerpts!
When I dmed IWD I read the walrus part and got so disappointed that I end up reworking it as a boss fight. I made him more like a beast of nurgle in personality, he doesn't even really know he's crushing people and would only think the party is rough housing. The encounter would start when the first person to enter the room emerged. They would have to make a dex save or take 6d10 bludgeoning and get get knocked prone and move 20ft in a random direction on a success they could move 5ft out of the way of a spinning and sliding giant walrus. On the walrus's turn it would slide in a straight line until it hit a wall. I gave it an ac of 13 and a little over 300 hitpoints but would move 3 more times after it died and you would have to make save each time it moved through your space. Really fun homebrew I remember doing that made the paladin feel a lot more humble.

There's a reason i gave every alumni of the magical academy in my world have a ring that acts as a spell focus so no class is forced to use the 'Default' item. And the flavor text talks about using words OR music. Yes, the stereotype of a bard is a wandering minstrel but you don't even have to play music. Hell, one of the bards in my campaign, music is his hobby, his job is a civil investigator.

For the beginning and end your need to do a branding wrapper. You show your logo brand and do a small montage in beginning and do the same sign-off. The most memorable podcasts have this and your remember the catchy lingo. Maybe do a cut scene from your most popular podcast or topics. BIGFOOT AND BEYOND does this well. You have the chatting part done well. My most memorable view is when you lay on the floor and your heads are together. Kind of reminds me of the blurring toilet bowl intro. Even James Bond movies do wrappers and they are most popular part of movie. If nothing else do a stop motion and put your name over your image.
Not that I am a fan of cars at all, but I kind of look at it as being like an artistic abstraction that kind imagines our world as being just cars. It isn't like some science fiction in which we try and understand why a society of cars would or could possibly exist; it's just a distorted reflection of our world. It's like a poem, or an impressionist painting. It says things in its own way and defines its own reality.

I wish wizards had more unique spell casting rules for each class. I love treantmonk’s variation for warlock and sorcerer. I used the warlock in my brother’s game and it just felt right.
I just read the sorcerer one and honestly I don't get it. The only difference I could find was that if it had material components they could ignore it unless it was over 100 gp (who cares about the stuff less than 100 gp) by using their bonus action. Wow, big changes. That could honestly just be a feat that sorcerers could take instead of an entirely different class variant, and it ceases to be relevant once you complete like any quest. And the only difference I can find on the Warlock is that they get Eldritch Blast for free? Am I missing something?
I'm on a long trip listening to this video, and I went and pulled up the jesters SketchBook video. At the worst possible time. I pulled up to a red light and it's just a very loudly "sugma balls"

I’m playing a Barbarian Tortle, and I’m loving it. He’s not really a typical Barbarian though. He’s mellow most of the time. He’s not the brightest, but he’s straightforward and practical. Because he’s a Tortle, I was able to dump Dex and I translate this into role play by giving him a limp. He often uses his Glaive as a walking stick. I think Barbarians get a bad rap, like fighters. They’re only boring when people try to be overly tropey with them. Rage doesn’t have to define them and neither does combat. You could make a Barbarian that loathes what he becomes when he rages.

Not super related but my friend says when he was younger he remembers a shadow of a hand enveloping his ceiling at night. Apparently ghost hand shadows are terrifying.
So how I always ended up playing a Bard is I used my performance skills and stuff to make as much money as possible and was the sugar daddy for the party. Not in return for anything but just because the easiest way to make money when traveling was whenever we stopped at a tavern or there was an event I would ask if I could perform there for some gold. DM was usually cool with it and would usually say yes but occasionally they'd make me roll persuasion if there was a reason the town or tavern didn't want an outsider or were wary of them.
Very insightful interview, liked that you opened up, especially part of ADHD, same here, barely made it through college and still struggle as a teach in terms of learning curb...I have a longer one as a teacher compared to other teachers who accomplish the same task/new paperwork task in half the time, or less. Persistence is key. I would rather be creative Youtubing for teacher pay or more, though, the same as you with the same as you are doing, but teaching is my second pick compared to being a RUclipsr. It's my number 1 pick for a job, worked many.
I have been playing D & D since the original box sets. I have played every edition except 4th. I played a bard in 3.5. He was a oration type bard. He was a historian. That came in handing. I have played most classes throughout the years.I am currently playing a champion.
I would love a bard that more like the guys who play trumpets & drums you see during like napoleonic wars.And your booming voice gets wounded soldiers back up and you shout “We’ll take the hill & their heads !”
Specifically from a role-playing viewpoint, I don't like Wizards, because to me they have the most boring magic source of all of the casters. You don't even have to be smart to learn wizard spells, like you could have a low INT Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster, you just don't take spells with saving throws. The subclasses feel too homogeneous to me, with few exceptions. And even with the exceptions, the subclasses don't feel like they're not thematically tied to the base class. Like Divination honestly would feel more at home on a Sorcerer or Cleric to me. I'm not saying other people can't have fun with them, but every time I've tried to come up with a wizard I might want to play, from a flavor/roleplaying standpoint, I'd rather play a different caster or I'd want to multiclass into Eldritch Knight/Arcade Trickster/Artificer.

More Monk/Sorcerers really as they are naturally gifted. Although the more angry characters like Vegeta would certainly be Barbarians. Trunks and Frieza are more Wizard than Sorcerer though. Android 18 is more of a Warlock since she was given her abilities and because of her robotics, Action Surge from the Fighter class would make more sense. But she's not a Saiyan nor is Frieza. Krillian is a Bard/Fighter. No doubt about that.
Maybe I've been experiencing Bard's wrong because my experience with the class is almost completely as a support class. That being said I do agree that I think it makes a better subclass than a stand alone class. Same with Warlock honestly.

The act of playing another Arcane Arcade video brings into existence a new entity; one that is identical to the previous you, but is not the same being. Evidence for this is present in the fact that not all instances of you retain the same memories, information, or clothing. So, in conclusion, while saying "Goodbye" at the end of a video is culturally sentimental, it is not merited; the beings of the temporal-spacial continuum do not operate by the same laws as we do.

Credit score is such a scam.. The older generations didn't have to deal with it and by the time it was implemented, they already had equity. It started in 1989.. Your credit can also go down if you pay off a debt, which is stupid.
I disagree with the vision for bard. I’ve never seen them as a leader of a party, they can be a face because they are charming and storytellers and lore keepers. The bard I see as a great support to fill in the spot a party needs similar to the cleric because clerics can be very different and bards are the same. They are the jack of all trades being able to support the party in areas the rest can’t be. They mainly do area of control but I do wish they had a lot more buffing other than just bardic inspiration which is flavored different for each subclass. Their spell casting could be better but they do many cast a lot of the non damaging spells which can be cool to do with helping the part by using a lot of cool illusion/charming magic. They do a lot more debuffs than buffs which is my own real problem with the bard. If you want to play a leader that’s just a roleplay thing. If anything leaders would be those fighters or paladins, anytime I see a bard in media they are always a supporting character rather than the main character which is what they are build as and I enjoy it a lot
Have them make tied backstories so you can make them feel special, but more efficiently (rather than needing 7 different plot lines u can have half of that… kinda)
Make drinking potions from your equipment a bonus action and giving someone else a potion a full action. It'll make their turns feel more impactful even though they need to wait through 6 other people + npcs.
I think jacobs take on the bard is wrong. The bard can in fact be anything they want to be, but they don’t need an instrument to cast their spells. At least not a musical instrument like he seems to be saying. Why does the bard have to exist only to boost the rest of the party and not themselves? Does that mean the fighter in the party always has to be the brawling brute who seeks valor in battle and nothing else? Could they not be a John wick type who would rather not fight but they are forced to? Can there be not depth or change?
I'm not saying I want to be rich. I just want to have enough money to do okay and not have to work 60 hours a week. Let me be clear. I'm not saying living in poverty for lower-income makes you happier. I'm saying being an active part of my child's life makes me happier, and being poor is an unfortunate consequence in our current Society. Cuz I do hear that sentiment a lot that poor people are happier but I think it's not true. I think poor people have just had to struggle more and sacrifice more, and due to that life experience, are wiser and understand the value of family and love so much more. Tldr; no one wants to be poor. Poverty sucks and it directly kills most of us through lack of access to essential services like Healthcare and housing. However, being a family man requires I be impoverished due to which social class I was born into.

Very insightful interview, liked that you opened up, especially part of ADHD, same here, barely made it through college and still struggle as a teach in terms of learning curb...I have a longer one as a teacher compared to other teachers who accomplish the same task/new paperwork task in half the time, or less. Persistence is key. I would rather be creative Youtubing for teacher pay or more, though, the same as you with the same as you are doing, but teaching is my second pick compared to being a RUclipsr. I have been playing D & D since the original box sets. I have played every edition except 4th. I played a bard in 3.5. He was a oration type bard. He was a historian. That came in handing. I have played most classes throughout the years.I am currently playing a champion.

Specifically from a role-playing viewpoint, I don't like Wizards, because to me they have the most boring magic source of all of the casters. You don't even have to be smart to learn wizard spells, like you could have a low INT Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster, you just don't take spells with saving throws. The subclasses feel too homogeneous to me, with few exceptions. And even with the exceptions, the subclasses don't feel like they're not thematically tied to the base class. Like Divination honestly would feel more at home on a Sorcerer or Cleric to me. I'm not saying other people can't have fun with them, but every time I've tried to come up with a wizard I might want to play, from a flavor/roleplaying standpoint, I'd rather play a different caster or I'd want to multiclass into Eldritch Knight/Arcade Trickster/Artificer.
Yeah the bard and bard hybrid classes like the Skald (love the skald) in pathfinder feel much more like what a bard should be than 5e.

More Monk/Sorcerers really as they are naturally gifted. Although the more angry characters like Vegeta would certainly be Barbarians. Trunks and Frieza are more Wizard than Sorcerer though. Android 18 is more of a Warlock since she was given her abilities and because of her robotics, Action Surge from the Fighter class would make more sense. But she's not a Saiyan nor is Frieza. Krillian is a Bard/Fighter. No doubt about that.

Maybe I've been experiencing Bard's wrong because my experience with the class is almost completely as a support class. That being said I do agree that I think it makes a better subclass than a stand alone class. Same with Warlock honestly.

The act of playing another Arcane Arcade video brings into existence a new entity; one that is identical to the previous you, but is not the same being. Evidence for this is present in the fact that not all instances of you retain the same memories, information, or clothing. So, in conclusion, while saying "Goodbye" at the end of a video is culturally sentimental, it is not merited; the beings of the temporal-spacial continuum do not operate by the same laws as we do.

I disagree with the vision for bard. I’ve never seen them as a leader of a party, they can be a face because they are charming and storytellers and lore keepers. The bard I see as a great support to fill in the spot a party needs similar to the cleric because clerics can be very different and bards are the same. They are the jack of all trades being able to support the party in areas the rest can’t be. They mainly do area of control but I do wish they had a lot more buffing other than just bardic inspiration which is flavored different for each subclass. Their spell casting could be better but they do many cast a lot of the non damaging spells which can be cool to do with helping the part by using a lot of cool illusion/charming magic. They do a lot more debuffs than buffs which is my own real problem with the bard. If you want to play a leader that’s just a roleplay thing. If anything leaders would be those fighters or paladins, anytime I see a bard in media they are always a supporting character rather than the main character which is what they are build as and I enjoy it a lot

Have them make tied backstories so you can make them feel special, but more efficiently (rather than needing 7 different plot lines u can have half of that… kinda)
Make drinking potions from your equipment a bonus action and giving someone else a potion a full action. It'll make their turns feel more impactful even though they need to wait through 6 other people + npcs.

I think jacobs take on the bard is wrong. The bard can in fact be anything they want to be, but they don’t need an instrument to cast their spells. At least not a musical instrument like he seems to be saying. Why does the bard have to exist only to boost the rest of the party and not themselves? Does that mean the fighter in the party always has to be the brawling brute who seeks valor in battle and nothing else? Could they not be a John wick type who would rather not fight but they are forced to? Can there be not depth or change?

Let me be clear. I'm not saying living in poverty for lower-income makes you happier. I'm saying being an active part of my child's life makes me happier, and being poor is an unfortunate consequence in our current Society.
Cuz I do hear that sentiment a lot that poor people are happier but I think it's not true. I think poor people have just had to struggle more and sacrifice more, and due to that life experience, are wiser and understand the value of family and love so much more.
Tldr; no one wants to be poor. Poverty sucks and it directly kills most of us through lack of access to essential services like Healthcare and housing.
However, being a family man requires I be impoverished due to which social class I was born into.
