Ha, for a moment when you said " waiting for the dynamic duo" I thought it was another BMW optional handling package you were waiting to kick in! Good video, fun to watch. I'd of liked to hear your impression of the bike.
It not fireworks, I wish it had a bit more power. Saying that, twin never really struggles and spins up fast. It's very nice road bike too, not as good as GT range but it's perfect for riding solo with some luggage over mountain passes.
Always pushing to maximum , till the red line,I have 180 000km without engine problems...1 time rebuild gear box 400 pounds and changed rear swing bearings, ingnition coil ,2 times clutch..it's simple to fix it.everythink you can find on internet
USD forks feels completely fine. With active suspension you don't get that much dive on the brakes any longer... I find my steering more precise with USD. Telelever on GS works better (for me) than Duolever. I'd say that all things considered (weight, steering precision, feel etc - Telelever is the best solution. Simple, elegant...
I'm toying with changing my F800GS for the 1200 boxer engine. Can't put up with the massive diving of the front under braking. I don't go off road at all, I only do the odd tour here and there, but do lots of 200-250 mile rides. As you've ridden all of them, which one would be better for what I do? The 1200r looks like it handles better, the RS seems the middle one, and the GS is the do-it-all bike? Is that a fair assumption? Cheers
Forget R...no wind protection. But with taller screen it's as comfy as GS. RS is the sportiest of the lot but wind protection marginally better than GS. Mind you, with taller screen R would be nice road focused machine. GS does it all but it may be tall, some people don't like that.
@@miragegp My 800GS is tall too, it's the trohy spec so higher than normal. I think I can see me going for a 1200 GS, but not sure I need the Adventure
I took Adventure for 10.000km service and loan bike was normal GS. 5 minutes later I turned back and traded Adventure for standard GS...it felt like sports bike in comparison.
I'm trying to decide between this and the GS. I plan on doing some touring with my wife on the back, occasional twisties and lot's of work commuting. Any thoughts?
Just bought my GS 2 weeks ago. Loving it so far. Any advice as far as break in and any mods I should get? Any advice in general for a first time GS owner?
Congrats!!! There are 2 schools about break in, some ride them hard, others ride gently. I take it easy, low revs, lots of gear changes. I have replaced standard screen with Adventure screen, it fits perfectly and did the same with pegs. I had crash bars but it matters only if you plan to ride off road. Oh... I also fitted headlight protector.
I have r1100rs modified to street fighter..on the corners it's feel much better than many sport bikes.. driving,sv650 feel more havy than BMW ,thanks to lower weight center
I love these. I have a 98 VFR 800 and this looks to be the spiritual successor that I've been waiting for, because it certainly ain't the new one.
+thepassionofthegoose They really have special character.

I love boxers and this one looks great. Must start saving.

Thks Alex. How does that RS compare with your Std GS around the track?
+Bruce Kendall For some reason, it pulls stronger. Easier to turn in, smaller front wheel. Completely different bike.
+miragegp any comments on the front USD fork compared to the GS Telelever? I really like the sturdy K series duolever!

I had Adventure first, then swopped for standard GS. It felt more nimble.
@@miragegp Thank you, that's the word I wanted to hear.... Nimble 👍
I certainly don't ride to your standards, but do like to give it some now and then

Ah man! Now I *DO* want to take mine out on track! :)

+Radoslav Laco Absolutely. Just have some nice tyres.
+Radoslav Laco Where are you from ?
+miragegp Slovakia
+Radoslav Laco I thought you're someone I know. I'm in South Africa.
Kneedown is possible to every motorcycle.

GS without any hesitation mate.
MirageGP GS it is. Thanks!
You must enjoy and ride safe!

Leave your captions up a little longer for us slow readers
+Patrick Allen Ok, will add extra second.
Do that again with the new R1250 RS :-)
Would love to, actually.
Hi, do you prefer it over r1200r?
+John2710 Hi John...yes...I love touring...RS has better wind protection, otherwise they're pretty much the same.
Hi what track is this?

They are very nimble, ride like a bicycle 👍
Fun video, some seriously effed up music.
Are you that sensitive to music, it's at very low volume - lower than wind noise.
