I like Isaac Q&A. It is fun even when we get off topic.
Especially when we get off topic
What you said about IR lasers losing effectiveness is completely true. I have a buddy who is a PJ and does training for special operations and he just told me the other day they are switching over to passive aiming as their main modus operandi with NODs because of the Taliban (and by extension, any malicious actor in the world) now having night vision capability.
But also, for dirty civs like me and you who own night vision for the primary purpose of fighting against the US government tyranny if/when necessary, this has always been the case.
Yep. If the Taliban has nightvision, expect other people to have it as well.

I think the algorithm does not like this phrase. The Canadian government has already banned it, which I think is discriminatory to Brandons everywhere!

You should rate force multipliers. Make up a scale, then list things such as radios, guns, nvgs, nvos, maps, ect...
I think that'd be hard to objectively rate.
@@andreivaldez2929 Yeah, but you could have a couple of different tech trees for a couple of different unit classes.
Always some good information, and im glad I always learn something new.
Please check the Primary Arms MD 25 and the Holosun AEMS for the IR light blocking visibility issues you mentioned among other ones and share the results in a comparative video!

Thank you for all this information. I enjoy learning the content.
@T.Rex Arms - For someone like myself where I have a balance issue due to having had an Acoustic Nueroma, missing my left side balance nerves as a result; darkness and depth perception issues really give me issues being able to move without stumbling and bumbling around in the dark. Do you think I would have an issue using say a PVS 14 single tube? I'm thinking the binocular NVG's will really upset my depth perception in the dark. Without say moonlight, I'm literally moving about like a drunk person and my sense of balance is quite compromised.
Late for the live but here for the algorithm
Frankly, the CTF-1 looks sick imo. Price point is WAY competitive considering how much better the illuminator looks compared to competition in that price point. At first i thought the idea of the vis was kinda useless considering its output was so low, but thinking about it, you would run an OKW or other high output light for distant target engagement and run the CTF-1's onboard light for close engagements that need more flood. I'm very excited about it.
Love the new military set up projecting weapons point of view and other digital night vision capabilities straight into you're Nods, heard takes a lot of getting used to over regular, but their just scratching the surface of what will capable in the near future.
Camo and color testing yes please
Thank your for the great vid.
The best digital night vision device is not the A7S II (or A7S III, it's newer), it's actually a camera named 'X27'. You should also talk about UV, there are some intreseting stuff about it.
I like the intro-music.
Commenting on a year late but Jamey Cauldwell from CAG works in night vision and hes talked a bit about IR in a spectrum that only very particular nod units can see. Also, Trey Knight from KAC said digital NV is on the verge of releasing product that significantly closes the gap and destroys the cost of analog. I sure the KAC NV will still be insanely expensive but they arent the only company on to this tech
Interesting info
Good stuff bois!

Man, that Brandon dude sure must be lazy.. good thing so many people care about his success.
I have amazing natural nightvision, but a pvs 14 just ups your ability and gives you an advantage.
"Thermals make humans and animals glow as much as an alphabet boi."
Fuckin ice cold roast.
Let’s see a drone video, next!!!
Please make a video/blog post comparing light transmission, under nods, through various red dots!
Night vision is looking at infrared light which is at the opposite end of the spectrum from ultraviolet. That's probably why they don't see UV.
But they also see visible light all the way down to UV.
Is the image in the PVS-31A’s significant better then a high FOM PSV-14 style tube? While I know the difference between the 31A’s and the BNVD-1531’s I have not actually looked through both to compared what I can see.
There is a market IR reducing spray paint.

A word on the relevance of IR lasers in "the modern day":
While it is technically true that the US and it's allies no longer have a monopoly on NV tech, I don't think that poses a real danger of making IR lasers obsolete just yet, and here's why:
First, I don't think that either China or Russia, much less NK or Iran, have demonstrated a capability to field trained NV operators in large numbers with remotely decent equipment.
Second, while laser discipline may be important for open terrain, in terms of door kicking, if they can see the laser they can also see you. So you're not really giving anything up by using it, it just makes aiming easier. You may yet however, still have an advantage over a person who isn't wearing their NODs at the time of entry.
Third, "full power" handheld lasers (as well as small laser pointers) have proven quite effective (see: Hong Kong) at blinding and even disabling small drones. Do with that info as you please.
Ecoti. The new hotness
I too enjoy encouraging brandon
Seeing in darkness is too valuable an ability to forego its inclusion in your loadout only because it's not american or not a cesium/phosphor-tech unit. You can get PVS-14 clones that are mostly compatible with aftermarket extra parts (sacrificial lens cover/shuttered eyepiece, etc.) and FULLY compatible with mounting hardware. These clone units are IR-cut digital cameras with digital screens, and they work. If you have a bright IR light source on your rifle, they'll let you see as far as the light projects. It's not the same visual output as a PVS-14, but they don't burn out from being hit by lasers, they can instantly transition from vis light to IR light environments, and the units I've bought are water proof to X meters, decently rugged, have aluminum mounting internals and mounting ring, and are a solid solution for seeing in zero vis light conditions. The one downside for the particular brand I bought is they're locked at 2x magnification. Others are not. Cost is around $160.
Certainly doesn't match up to real gen 3 optics, not even close. But if it's the only thing you can afford then it could be better to have than not.
Certainly better than nothing, but here in the US there are much better options that are definitely worth more money.
Thats great, as long as the other side doesnt have analog NV.
Might I suggest, "Dark Winter" December.

“Critical light theory” got me
the Russian laser you talk about at 32 mins probably uses an electronically gated lense/eye. A physical shutter can't open and close at the speed of light.
True. I'm not sure if even LCD can change that fast, though. It's insane.
Last comment, but really interested in analog drone tech with heat signature cameras were you don't have to connect to the internet, I don't want anyone to be able to hack my drone/ sensitive Information or it have to be online and update before flying, and ask permission and possibly send your information to certain people just so you have unlimited operation of the drone.
That box over Isaac's right shoulder looks so fake in that lighting
Can one use white light with nods? Or is an ir ulimnator required?
You can use white light, but everyone will see it.
Could you do a small bit on acog or primary arms bdc reticles that are recommended for 100 yard zeros
And why or why not to make your own zero to that reticle for your wanted holds or just your opinion on it would be nice it’s the best optic I have right now and I had to save for it just want to get the most from it in a fast since of target identification and also positive hits at my holds without having to process much information there really isn’t much for it in the RUclips community in this view thanks

Besides the point that "NFA items" are an infringement, why cant gun stores sell pre tax stamped NFA items and just incorporate that into the sale process.. like include the 200 right there in the price and have the paperwork sent in or signed right there along with your background checks. Or have it faxed to an ATF agent during the sale. Why do we need to send things out for 8 months? Is there something we can all do as a community to help streamline this process? We are always getting gun rights taken away... why cant we have a win for once?

super cheap pvs31's... lol
I am a pensioner, did six years in the military, I didn't re-enlist, and became a Police Officer, I cannot afford anything but the cheapest. I started with an IR spotlight and attached my telephone camera to my scope, I am only allowed to shoot rabbits etc now, so I have four different different types of IR Night Vision, if I want to get away from IR night Vision, what's available for around the US $80 mark.
nothing your way too poor
Probably would want to save up for a $1400-1800 PVS when you find one at that price again if you want real night vision. Otherwise you won't find anything for cheaper that is also analog.
@@andreivaldez2929 Thanks Mate, I appreciate your help and I will try saving some coin.
On a totally different topic, I have been studying American politics during "Lockdown" I believe that the term should be house arrest, but if you want to see how quickly and easily a state of tyranny can occur during a pandemic or other problem have a look at what is going on in Victoria Australia today, Thursday the 28th of October, the Premier of the State, an elected politician, has organized the numbers in both houses to support legislation that will give him, and him alone, the sole power to declare a "State of Emergency", he will be able to declare a State of Emergency when he thinks it is necessary, he will have absolute power over everything to the point of canceling elections, imposing a full State lockdown and anything that he says is required, he will answer to no one. This is a result of the fear that has been placed in the heads of Victorians, we were in lockdown longer than any other place in the world and he has even (in Australia each State has one all powerful Police Force) heavily increased the number of Police but they are not working the beat or on patrol, Victoria has the largest number of "Tactical Response Squads" and what you would call "SWAT" than any other State or Territory in Australia. And Dictator Dan, who tried to subvert the Federal government by making a "Belt and Road" Deal with China, put down any anti-lockdown demonstrations with the Police Force using a lot of Force. We have a poor excuse for a Constitution and No meaningful Bill of Rights. We are in big trouble. I added that information to let you know what is happening here, check that I am correct and then you can spread the word and hopefully save your own country, my best mate was a SEAL and we spilt our blood in the same mud, Jack Dancer got him two year's ago. Good luck and God bless to you all.
