Superb tribute! I especially love the shot where he passes Fittipaldi on the inside @ Monaco in ’75. There will never be another racer like Lauda. He was one of a kind…
R.I.P Niki Lauda. Thank you for being a hero. You are such an inspiration for so many people. If someone asked me "who would you consider your biggest hero?" My answer would be, without a single thought, it would be you Niki. We all love you, you fucking legend.
@tigermoth737 That GP would never have been given the green light today, and nearly wasn't even in 1976. There was so much rain visibility was non-existant, and Lauda still had problems with his eyelids from his crash and was pretty much driving blind. No wonder he drove into the pits and retired. However one must remember Hunt's performance with a 3 year old McLaren M23 was worth a title alone and he was often let down by reliability or other "obstacles" in his championship charge.
@jayronnie2 Perhaps, but bear in mind Hunt was cruelly robbed of the victory in the British GP, and the Italian organizers saw fit to find some "illegal fuel" (which back home was tested and turned out to be legal) and relegated him to the back of the grid in Monza. In that case Lauda could give his trophy to either Andretti or Hunt in 1977, both of which lead more laps, had more poles, but retired with reliability issues, whereas Lauda cruised home The 1977 title was a "payback" for Lauda.
@AlonsoOwnesAll Yeah yeah yeah. And without the reliability issues in the two last races of 1962 and 1964, both of which he was leading, Jim Clark would have won 4 straight titles in 1962-63-64-65 instead of just 63 and 65. Then in 1967 he won twice the amount of races of either Hulme or Brabham, led almost twice the laps, only reliability let him down again from an easy '67 title. He died in a crash in '68 and Graham Hill took the title in his car... If, if, if. Always those ifs.
@SuperClagnut Hahah . He is famous only for being pulled out of the fire by a true legend? Nothing else? Are you serious? He is not famous for having the accident. He is famous for coming back just 42 days after he almost died because of the damage in his lungs. Besides he is 3-time world champions. And he won 2 of them AFTER his accident. Troll somewhere else pls.
Nar Nem well actually he is also famous for his comeback to f1 in 80s. He beat Prost a man who was younger him and in same car. Niki did what Mike Hailwood did but in f1 car made a successful comeback. RIP Niki Lauda
@Waleed199018 Whoever doesn't count Juan-Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark (who Senna himself saw as the best ever) and Jackie Stewart in that list has no clue about drivers. None whatsoever. And where's Alain Prost? 51 wins and 4 titles (with 2 other titles lost by 2points and half a point) isn't proof he is among the greatest ever? If all points were counted like today he'd win over Senna both in 1988 and 1989.
niki lauda s familly was from comunism dictated ALBANIA. niki owned a car dealership ( mercedes i think) and offered the times goverment of albania a "fleet" of government cars wich the government refused the gift of a "capitalist-imperialis" THATS A FACT and nothing can change that..........................

Superb tribute! I especially love the shot where he passes Fittipaldi on the inside @ Monaco in ’75. There will never be another racer like Lauda. He was one of a kind…
