WOW! Thanks sooo much. That is the type of video I really enjoy - multiple things going on and learning so much. The photography was really nice too with great up close shots. Wish I had seen that forest when I visited England.
Great video- I am so grateful to be able to visit a portion of the world I would probably never see in person- the beautiful Sherwood Forest. The woolen cape and fabric dyed , hand- stitched pouch are very inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
Oh so different to your usual videos. I thought I would miss you talking but the filming did did all the communication needed. It was a lovely, peaceful, creative journey you took us on. Really wonderful and of course good to see Ginger cat add his creative guidance.
This is on its way to being my "Take a breath. Everything's going to be okay." video. A lovely person, an elusive cat, textiles and trees; it's complete . Thank you!
Love this wonderful video!!! Thank you for sharing the entire process of some of your beautiful work. Your garment is lovely and the bags exquisite! So enjoyable to "visit" the amazing forest💕. Hope to see more videos like this☺️
Thank you, Sarah, for this absolutely wonderful video. Seeing you make your lovely forest cape was great, & it turned out beautifully. Then the amazing walk in Sherwood Forest - well, what can I say to that except AWESOME! And if that wasn't enough, then to see you dye your fabrics & make this beautiful bag was really the topper! You have incredible talent, & I can't thank you enough for sharing with us.
What a gentle, lovely and productive day you had. It reminds us to slow down and enjoy the simple things that nature and life have to offer. Very inspiring. Thank you ❤
It’s been 50 years since I stepped foot in Sherwood Forest nice to see so many of the old trees still standing, I don’t remember seeing placards at the trees back then, and it’s looking just a tad little more bare compared to 70’s , I hope that it will improve again over the coming years. I enjoyed the video, thanks🤗🤗
The storms have taken some of the trees down but all the big ancient oaks are still there. It's now managed by the RSPB who are doing lots of conversation in the forest
I have just watched this for the 2nd time and the trees are still amazing, but this time I paid close attention to the inspiring bag making and now I'm thinking I'll use the pecans from my own yard! Hooray!
Thank you Sarah, that was so relaxing. It was such a pleasure to see the beautiful trees in Sherwood. Sadly I've seen quite a few trees here in North Yorkshire felled by the recent storms and those ancient ones in Sherwood are very precious.
You are amazing, thank uou for sharing your dying and artful designs. My oak trees don'thave acorns that big. Thank you for the tour of Sherwood. I will never be able visit it in person. Beautiful park
Hello Sarah. I did miss you talking ( I actually scrolled ahead to see if you talked l o l) but I loved the video. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Well done
I just loved ALL of this video Sarah, so different to your normal offerings.... and what a joy. Thank you, and so fun to see a few video-bombings from Ginger 🐈. Hooray for you, and Cecil B de Mille behind the camera of course😘👏👏.
Hi Sarah, your video was just magical I loved watching you making your cape and the bag and the acorns turned out a lovely colour. Such and informative and interesting video, thank you so much. Bella xx
Hello Sarah, That is such a lovely video. So soothing to watch, but also full of suggestions for how to create really wonderful- and unique - items. Thank you.
What a fabulous video! Loved everything you made & the natural dying of the fabric was a joy to watch. The forest trees were breathtaking. Thank you for taking us with you on your walk 😊 & I think I may be making my Mum a cape for Christmas 😊
Wow Sarah that was just incredible!, I'm actually speechless, I don't know where to start really, but your Cape is absolutely amazing, I don't think Maid Marion herself could have been more perfectly attired for a stroll through the forest, how on earth did you freestyle it like that it couldn't have looked better?. Seeing the forest too was marvellous, and what utterly fantastic trees, I'm not surprised you like going for a wander through there - although at first I was panicking rather that you were on your own until I was grateful to see from the camera shots that you must have had somebody else with you!. And then the bag!!!. At first I couldn't work out what was going to happen painting the paste on the cloth, but the end result was like magic, and then when it was all put together with the embroidery on it too, well, it's absolutely beautiful!, I can only imagine the odd looking mess there would have been if I'd been making all that!, honestly, you never fail to both surprise and inspire, and it was lovely to see dear Ginger cat stroking your hand with his tail too joining in as always. Wonderful, thank you x 😺💗
I can just about manage a rectangular sewing project, anything more complicated just makes me cross! The resist was a bit of an accident, I was making it as a mordant but I made it a bit thick and it became a resist instead! I think I prefer this though...
MAGUS OPUS visual experience……Moaning Mabel and Man Eating Caterpillar were favorites……sitting here in the Pacific Northwest of the US…..I could easily envision Maid Marion, Robin Hood, Friar Tuck and the whole gang of us sharing lunch together in the meadows of Sherwood Forests……
Beautiful….so relaxing to watch. I have oak trees….so excited to try making the stain when I can! Watching you make the bags and knowing every step used to create them, makes me appreciate even more the love you poured into them. Works of art!
Love you using the book for a weight to hold you fabric on table! Be creative, use what you have. Don’t go out and buy something that has only one purpose. It would probably be plastic, anyway. Love your channels.
Great video ,extremely inspirational, loved it ,very little equipment ,yet such a creative finish . Loved it and appreciate all the hardwork that went into making this for all of us to share.
This video is right up there Sarah 💖 Beautiful. I must visit sherwood. I loved the cape and pouch. I’m making a patchwork pouch atm. All by hand, but using pretty tilda scraps. I enjoy the process so much and you got me in to hand sewing. I’m so grateful. It’s helping me get through this gloomy winter.
I LOVE the prints you created.... I can not wait to try. I have a box full of dried pressed leaves.of every imaginable shapes....< I will do something with them some day> (lol) I know they have to be fresh leaves, but maybe I could use the contours of mine and paint the fabric around them. Thank you so much for this fantastic video....Oh,... and I love your poncho and your bags as well. Not sure how you call them in the UK. Have a fantastic weekend !
You said I'd enjoy this weeks and I have only trouble we don't have a supply of oak trees nearby, I know of one but I'd have to find out when our acorns are out here, but I could try gum nuts I'm sure that would have some result :D love it and the forest is beautiful
I love the cape and the hand dyed fabric bag that you made.😊 I am amazed! Was that linen fabric? And also, what type of fiber was the yarn? They took the dye so well.
Measure wrist to wrist with arms outstretched for length then add on seam allowances! For the drop whatever suits you, wrap a blanket around you to try it out 👍
Wow. As usual… superb video! Very inspiring. I was wondering cause we don’t see that particular bit with the cape. What are the parts that you join with buttons? I’m really interested doing that and I’m not figuring it! Thank you!
Thanks for this. Do not normally watch videos that have no talking, but enjoyed this one. Couple of questions. Love the dress you had on, did you make this yourself if so what was the pattern. Secondly would like a more in-depth video on the bag construction.. love the idea of using soya milk and flour as a resist will try this. Thanks again
The dress is shop bought Dorothy, the bag was just the size of the pieces of fabric I had; a rectangle in shape, fold up the bottom for the bag and fold over the top for the flap, sew up the sides! 👍
Keep Rocking 🤙 the good stuff 👍 Beautiful people 🤗 pet hello😻 everything Robin Hood l got through college with him.😉 I earlier today just order linen cotton blend tones or close to the lovely piece you are working. On in this video. ideas 🤔🥰the Robin 🕊️🫶🐦2024🪵🐉🗽🇺🇸🦅🌥️

Oh!! This is such a lovely treat!! 😍🤩
Love this, so creative, very visual. thank you Sarah for sharing the joy of hand stitching 🧵🪡✅
A robin in the video proves my choice of an English symbol 😊 Great!
He was interested in what we were doing in his forest!

Thank you Sarah, that was so relaxing. It was such a pleasure to see the beautiful trees in Sherwood. Sadly I've seen quite a few trees here in North Yorkshire felled by the recent storms and those ancient ones in Sherwood are very precious.
Lots of broken branches when I went a few weeks ago Denise...
Very different than your other videos, but I loved it. Thank you for all the hard work to educate and entertain us. God bless.

Well done
It's nice to have a break from talking Sheryl!!
Fascinating. I had no idea you could make dye with acorns. I also enjoyed the forest walk and cat tail.
Loved sitting stitching along whilst you created your lovely cape and bag. Inspiring for me too! Thankyou Sarah xxx
What a fabulous video! So different to the usuals, (which I love) 🥰
This was such a cool video. Thank you Sarah.

Such a feel good video. Thank you for making me feel better 🌸 More like this please 🙏🏻
WOW! Very impressed with your fabric dying esp...so the flour and milk mixture acts as a resist?!! Brilliant!!!
I found that out by making the mixture too thick Robina!
Moaning Mabel is a particular favourite as you can go right up to her and give her a comforting pat to stop her moaning! 🤣
Love watching you dye fabric. You are so much to watch!
Beautiful video and lovely projects ❤ Thank you 😊
What a delightful video - so much to love here! Thank you for taking us on the journey with you!!
Wow, that cape is so cool. Loved visiting Sherwood Forest
This was such a beautiful video Sarah!
Fantastic.....thanks for bringing us to Sherwood Forest.
Very relaxing to watch and make plans for a forest walk myself... thanks Sarah
Magic!😻
Amazing and beautiful...... as alwasy. Thank you Sarah !!!!
Beautiful….so relaxing to watch. I have oak trees….so excited to try making the stain when I can! Watching you make the bags and knowing every step used to create them, makes me appreciate even more the love you poured into them. Works of art!

Beautiful!!
Love you using the book for a weight to hold you fabric on table! Be creative, use what you have. Don’t go out and buy something that has only one purpose. It would probably be plastic, anyway. Love your channels.
That was Weldons stitch dictionary!! Mostly used as a heavy weight...😁
Lovely ❤
I love this video! Thanks so very much!

This project is amazing. Many thanks
Great to see you. I love your video. Such beautiful projects❣️
Incredible!
beautiful!
We have acorns in Florida. I will begin to collect them. Thank you.

I so enjoyed this video Sarah and I just happen to have an Oak tree growing in my front yard so guess what I'm going to be making soon!!
Perfect! 🌰🌳
I love it
I love, Love, LOVE this video! Geebus, you've got some honkin' big trees in Sherwood. Flour and milk paste make a resist like batik? Who'da' thunk it?
It was meant to be a mordant but I made it too thick so it came out as a resist which I really liked!
You said I'd enjoy this weeks and I have only trouble we don't have a supply of oak trees nearby, I know of one but I'd have to find out when our acorns are out here, but I could try gum nuts I'm sure that would have some result :D love it and the forest is beautiful
You can try lots of other things instead Lesley! Leaves, fungi, lichen, flowers, bark...
Thanks!
Thank you Sandra x
I love the cape and the hand dyed fabric bag that you made.😊 I am amazed! Was that linen fabric? And also, what type of fiber was the yarn? They took the dye so well.
Cotton and linen fabrics and wool and silk blend for the threads; animal fibres take the dye better
You really are a super women 😊
And now I have a super woman cape!😁
Wow! So lovely and meditative. Does it have to be soy milk? I never buy the stuff…maybe I can ask my vegan friends for a bit!😅
I bought soya milk just for this purpose Lisa, good for mordanting fabric
Can I ask you what size you cut your fabric to before sewing.
Yes, please?!
Measure wrist to wrist with arms outstretched for length then add on seam allowances! For the drop whatever suits you, wrap a blanket around you to try it out 👍
Thankyou. So easy.
Wow. As usual… superb video! Very inspiring. I was wondering cause we don’t see that particular bit with the cape. What are the parts that you join with buttons? I’m really interested doing that and I’m not figuring it! Thank you!

The dress is shop bought Dorothy, the bag was just the size of the pieces of fabric I had; a rectangle in shape, fold up the bottom for the bag and fold over the top for the flap, sew up the sides! 👍
@@sarahhomfraycreates Thanks Sarah I did make the small bag you did to put my friends birthday present in.
Enjoyed this Sarah just a gentle reminder to pause and be. One question did you steep the acorns or simmer and for how long? 😊
Several days Chrissie! The longer you can leave them the stronger the dye
Beautiful! May I ask what kind of mordant you use to dye with leaves , acorns and flowers? Thank you!
I didn't mordant the fabric in this instance so that the soya milk and flour paste worked better. The embroidery thread was mordanted in the soya milk
I loved this video! What was the goop you painted on the fabrics? I would love to try something like that.
Soya milk and flour to thicken!
Thank you@@sarahhomfraycreates
9:55 so what is this? Milk and flour, soy-milk and flour?
Your bag is so lovely btw.
I grew up in a forest of big old oaks. I love the autumn oak smell when all the leaves are dropping.
Yes, soya milk and flour to thicken
😓 Promo`SM
The music. The first one is so awful and another further in. It needs to be calm relaxing.
I can't choose music to suit everyone so I choose the music that I like Eileen
