    Thank you for sharing. That was such fun and such a lovely complete way to record a holiday. Some really great ideas. Hopefully in a few months we get to see another one

    Thank you so much for sharing your holiday with us! Jonathan, you made this video extra special with the scenic backdrops. The fjords look amazing in their beautiful shades of blue and turquoise. Great tour of your cruise, Sarah. Your travel journal is such a lovey record of your holiday. I love all the different things you incorporated into it. I would have never thought to add descriptive words, but I think that is brilliant. The sunset colour pallet you painted would a great jumping off point for a future project. I also love your found items artwork. The gold thread really pulls all the pieces together in a simple and elegant way. Well done you two!

      I always come back with half empty sketchbooks Jacqueline so I really wanted to find ways I could record things quickly and I think I've found some ways that work! I have a few new ideas for the next one😁

    What a wonderful holiday, and you captured it beautifully. Your sketches and paintings are wonderful, and I love the way you added all kinds of extra memories to the book.

    Thanks for that Sarah, I honestly don't feel I have ever been more inspired!. It was utterly fascinating to see all the clever and really effective methods you have used to record and keep the perfect memories of your trip. I just loved the mini 'of the moment' photos, loved the idea of 'pulling' the colours from a photo and the environment - and that being enough of a memory - and thought your little colour swatches with the tiny buildings in to remember the colours of the houses was just great, and I too always love a map!. I have already watched it through twice, and will again, and am now planning various themes for sketchbooks of my own thanks to your wonderful ideas, as ever, more please!!!!.

    So lovely to share your holiday Sarah and Jonathan - a part of the world I would love to visit and I’m really inspired by your little sketchbook and how you use it as a source for your slow stitch. Love collecting found treasures too. Cheers, Christine

    What a great way to memorialize your holiday. You did a great job with this journal, and it was an inspired idea by Jonathan to use fjord water for the painting. I also loved seeing the little photo of Pinky; we don't see her very often. That mini-camera is great; so glad you got one!

      She's doesn't come out to the studio anymore Linda and now winter is coming she definitely won't be!! I put the fire on at lunchtimes when it gets really cold and she comes running and sits in front of it about a foot away! 🤣 I felt the fjord water assisted my process but in reality I think that was in my head!!!

    • @fiberjazz
      @fiberjazz Год назад +1

      Ah, but don't underestimate the power of that magnificent brain that resides within your head! I believe that what we think can affect the way we act/feel/perform. It's rather like the placebo effect when people feel better even though they've only been given a sugar pill. That fjord water was the sugar pill that enhanced your painting - and my enjoyment of the results of your brush and pigments. Please give Pinky Cat (and Ginger Cat) ear scritches for me. I wish I could curl up in front of the fireplace along side of her. @@sarahhomfraycreates 💖

    Hello Sarah ... Gramcracker from Las Vegas here. I've been watching your Norway vacation video the last 2 days all day.. lol like I do so many of your wonderful videos. I watch you as I work. Truly helps. You've become my companion like ginger cat is for you. However I did wake up to google saying my disability card is being denied for patron and stores shopping. Thank goodness I can still watch you. Plus text you. I PRAY THIS GETS TO YOU. You've become a big part of my life. Stitching and slow Stitching and hearing you help me focus LESS on my pain. So off to get my TECH son in law to help me figure this out. I use your PDF sss. Ugh this isn't ok. Please lord help me figure this out. Stay safe. Enjoy your Fall season Stitching. Hopefully you'll hear from me again soon.

    What kind of glue are you using to glue your book pages together? they look so smooth and not warped or bubbly. I am going to Norway in a few months and would like to preset-up a book as you did. You gave me lots of good ideas. I will be in Oslo. while on my trip.

      I think I used Pritt stick Jacqueline! So a fairly 'dry' glue
