I bought a new 90 in 1975, it did 45 without any struggle and went on to 55 on a run. Late autumn 75 got bike back form clapham after front end rebuild, Austin maxi tried to kill me. Bike went faster dont know why or what was done, it shot up to 55 and ran on to 60 hammering on the needle stop. 1976 On a run back from wales down the A40 dually engine got hot and threw a partial seize , slowed down allowing it to cool and a few miles on stopped at a services, some grub and drinks later restarted bike with some trepidation but all good so refilled the tank and carried on. Now for the weird part the bike was faster again noticeably I can provide no explanation , if anyone out there has had a similar experience and discovered why I would appreciate hearing why. Being Manx far too easy to blame the fairies for this stroke of good fortune, but logic denies this idea and all other ideas I have come up with. the following year it got me around the TT circuit in 48 mins not on mad Sunday most normal Manx folk stay in bed mad Sunday.
