Evan McTaggart my buddy caught all of his fish on our trip with a mint and chrome tady C. I did well with a bird poop Salas 7x jr. The fish are just looking for a reaction strike. Anything that can trigger them to react will work

Evan McTaggart try surface irons if the boats are fishing surface. If all the fish are up top, yo-yos aren’t going to be very effective

Nice fish and the burgers looked awesome! Seabass is one of my bucket list fish years ago I went out of Monterey for Albacore and had to turn around 20+ miles out water was too rough for my Bayrunner when I got back in it was wide open Seabass bite in front of the Aquarium jumbos were being caught 50-60lbs.+ I could not get bit so pissed super long two days no sleep long drive home 0 fish! I am going to get a 500HG for my 90J!!!!!!!

@@Dirty.Hookers they canceled from bad weather just returned from a 3 day trip aboard the ranger 85 out of channel islands we fished for seabass and halibut I landed a good 15 pound halibut wit 2 Ling cod and 3 days limit worth of rockfish

Hoyt Yee thank you! The tri helix I was using was the 8’ 20-50 I believe. It’s actually my dads rod but I was in a rush so I just stuck my lexa on his stick haha

Anthony Lujano yeah the bite has been at Rosa for the past week. Might’ve moved somewhere else though because today’s counts were only like 1 per boat and a lot of them skunked
any advice on yellowtail fishing and how far out are they usually?

Josh Lin I’ve Only fished yellows on private boats acouple times so I’m not an expert, but the 3 big tips I can give you are
Look for good bird activity and boils
Look for good current
And look for bait.
They usually hang out around islands and follow the current. So if you can find a good spot with bait and current I would start there and look around for them

NEVER let anyone touch your drag setting. It should be preset before you fish and you don't touch it.
Thanks. It gets scary having to adjust the drag sometimes, but every once in awhile it have to be done

peter cepeda oh gotcha. I thought you were asking if it was the Channel Islands haha. But we were at Rosa. The sea bass have been at the outer islands. Start at Rosa and look for the fleet. When you find the fleet, you’ll find where the bite has been. Live squid was the ticket. Once we were out of live squid we stopped getting bit

Hey bro I just wanted to share with you. I caught my first wsb. Actually caught 2 on a wsb trip it was the best trip of my life. Also the worst trip ever. When I got home and was taking out my gear turns out someone stole 2 cases of my tackle . About$80 worth of hookup baits brand new in package also irons and jigs for yellowtail and all of my giant plastic baits for calico bass. About$500 worth of tackle gone that I accumulated I am so bothered by this. 😩I don't have the money to replace any of the stuff I lost.

Walter eating the heart is more of a pelagic thing, I didn’t even think about it with the sea bass. I made sure to pull the stones out though, so that’s my trophy

Just a lite dusting of a spice like mesquite or garlic, salt, & pepper, than grill over medium hot coals or wood chips. Finish with a slab of butter.

Say what you want, but I personally liked the burgers way more than a grilled steak no matter how it was seasoned.
