- Unfortunately, our boat was 30 minutes too late for the grey light bite. Got to see a hand full of white sea bass landed by other boats, but it was slow pickings after we showed up to the party.
Luckily there was an abundance of barracudas around to have fun with all day! full speed barracuda fishing on surface irons and jerk baits! Never gets old.

I could watch the squid jigging all day. I wish they had a half day fishing for squid. The boil and the action were unbelievable for baracuda
Lol right! I could literally go on a trip just for jigging squid. I know a lot of people find it boring, but I love it. I’ve always enjoyed making bait of any kind!
And right, those cudas were so fired up! Such a blast
Yeeeewww!!! WSB fishing right now is next level!
Right! I need to get back out there, keep getting swerved by them for the last 2 years
Looks like an action packed day, nice!
So much action the entire day! Literally could’ve easily caught 80+ cudas each if we stuck with the bird schools
My favorite surface iron for big channel islands barracuda is the Salas 7x in green sardine or mint sardine. For some reason they just seem to like those over the Tady 45.
More tighter swimming jigs, good to know! Thanks for the input, much appreciated!
That was some good stuff
Such a fun time, full speed cudas on the jig never gets old!
Another awesome video! Sucks that you guys didn't get any white seabass but those cuda looked so fun!
Yeah definitely a bummer, but I will never turn down a wide open cuda bite! That was such a blast
Looks like a great time man!
Was such a fun time! Fish that wanna just clean the paint off of a jig never gets old!
Cool video. I used to fish on the cobra all the time. Is it still capt.john and keith on that boat?
Thanks man! Yeah it’s still Captain John running for the most part, and as for crew I it changes week by week or sometimes day by day
I need to get out there for the white sea bass bite! Cuda fishing is always fun surface fishing!
Hell yeah, surface cuda fishing never gets old! And the seabass are snapping, now is the time to go!
Where u guys going out of? I wanna book a trip for wsb and yellow tail
Channel Islands sportfishing.
Both Ciscos and Ventura sportfishing are getting on them rn!
I know some of the LA boats are getting limits of wsb lately too
What islands were u guys at?
Santa Cruz Island
Sick episode. We were on the cobra with John last Thursday and we got 5 WSB on the boat. What day was this?
Nice man! It went off earlier this week.
This video was from about a week and a half ago, but it’s biting really good rn! I need to get back out
@@Dirty.Hookers it’s like a roller coaster- monster count vs a dip the next two days. Comes down to conditions and finding a captain willing to search for them and not just trying to fill bags with ground fish 😆
@@Hook2Cook 100%! That’s definitely something everyone needs to understand when it comes to seabass fishing. In it for the long run, not to catch some fillers.
Gotta treat it like tuna fishing almost, high risk high reward
@@Dirty.Hookers went back the 14th and we had 8 on the boat on the cobra. It was totally different. We metered fish spread out, anchored and chummed. Worked out nicely.
@@Hook2Cook nice. I think anchor fishing for seabass is a little more ideal imo.
As good as it is to be chasing down the school and get right on top of them, it also just keeps spooking the fish more and more to be driving over top of them like that
Fishing Cuda when sea bass are around WTF
All of the boats that were catching them were chasing the school down and dropping in the middle of them. We pretty much sat anchor the whole time and didn't hook any unfortunately, so my friends and I decided to fish for what was biting.
Say what you want man, we were the only ones on the boat to catch fish that day besides 1 persons bycatch halibut lol.
the only problem that causing you don't catch much is that you have camera on
It’s true. The bringing a camera puts me at a handy cap, I agree. Best days I have are days I forget the camera
What size saltiga you using?
Saltiga 35H! Fricken love that thing!
Which is easier to cast saltiga or Trinidad?
@@mychalcummings4140 I personally think you can’t go wrong with either, but I honestly do think the saltiga is a little easier to cast than the trinidad
Thanks for the honest opinion gonna pick up one! Keep up the dope ass videos! 🔥🔥🔥
@@mychalcummings4140 really soothe continued support bro. And anytime man. Yeah the trini can definitely cast maybe a tad further with the right trained thumb, but the saltiga is definitely more user friendly with really good casting breaks.
What are you gonna do if you catch one of those? Pelicans cause your casting right Adam that’s totally wrong.
We cast towards the pelicans because thats where all the bait fish are and the predator fish are just beneath. By fishing lures, we are able to avoid hooking pelicans, as we can control where the lure lands and how fast it comes in to keep it away from pelicans and seagulls
Chinese was killing everything I was 30-30 on cudas lost. A 4’er at the boat but still my biggest cuda fan on the jack pot lol
That’s so rad! Gotta love when the cudas are full speed, such a blast!
@@Dirty.Hookers we had them fired up blasting out of the water smacking into the side of the boat fucking crazy lol
