    I saw that very same return on my finder the other day, I wondered what that could be maybe squid but the return was solid red. Did not target the signal but I did get one 32 pounder to the boat after a double hookup. only one other boat fishing in the area. There are schools off El Segundo right now, but no one is looking. Was near the pipe 70-foot range drifting with hook up bait.

      Intel is important. I would love to hear if someone converts on this!

    Seems like almost identical rod reel line set up as for king salmon. Curious aboutcwhen this is best Spring?

    • @artemisadventures1734
      @artemisadventures1734  3 месяца назад

      Not quite in the same sticks. The salmon rods have a good amount of flexibility to them (parabolic). The rods we’re using here are a lot faster (mostly just the tip bends). I think May and June are the best months if you’re planning ahead. If you’re flexible watch the fish counts or social media feeds from the boats fishing them and go when the counts are up.

    Great trip!! When did you guys go? Do you have to bring your tackle or did the boat provide it with your ticket?

    • @artemisadventures1734
      @artemisadventures1734  Год назад +1

      We brought our tackle but they have rental gear that’s actually pretty good if you need it.

    I don’t see the graylight on the channel island sports fishing website, how do I get on this boat? And when would you say is a good time to try?

      It’s worth it. Ask Shawn when to book. I like May and June

    the screen you were looking at on the left is actually radar not side scan sonar, the screen on the right is also not side scan, its actually chirp down imaging. cheers buddy!

    • @artemisadventures1734
      @artemisadventures1734  8 месяцев назад

      I wouldn’t say that’s the terminology that the captains are using. Either way, I wish I had the side scanning one!!

      @@artemisadventures1734 thats nice, im a certified Furono, Garmin, and humminbird installer and service tech. just wanted to let you know that youre making an ass out of yourself, i could have stitched your video and really made you look like a twat. just admit your wrong and move on.

      The screen on the left is definitely a side scanning sonar and not radar. You are correct about the chart plotter and chirp on the right.

    • @purpherder
      @purpherder 5 месяцев назад

      @@trussmonkey5910you sure about that, my side scan does not show my track on it but my radar definitely does

    • @artemisadventures1734
      @artemisadventures1734  4 месяца назад

      When you say radar, are you thinking above the water? Because the side scanning sonar that we’re looking at is below the water. Just making sure. I have a radar but not the sonar (below the water). Crazy how this has become a debate. I bet if we were all on the boat together we’d all understand each other and be friends within minutes! I hope you’re catching lots of fish no matter what you call your electronics.
