  • You've got the brackets landed into their positions, and it's time to place the axle and get it under control. That means it's time to build links - five of them. Follow as Stephen and I detail the process of measuring and assembling the upper and lower links and the panhard bar for the ORD front coilover conversion system.
Remember, this is an instructional supplement, and meant to be used in conjunction with the written copy provided from Offroad Design.

Love all the videos. Collecting parts for my 89 suburban build. Going with 24valve cummins, trans, tcase and a set superduty axles. Weekend trips and tow rig duty. Planning 3-4" lift and 35" tires. Leaning toward using my ADS 14" coilovers. Do you mind me asking what spring rates you're running? Gets me a starting point.

Glad you enjoyed this series. I’m at 350/400, and it’s perfect for the 6.5.

When putting the axle under the truck to get the link arm measurements where do you like to put your axle at so as that the axle is not to far forward or rearward. Would temporarily installing the pan hard bar get you close?

Depends on if you're going for max uptravel or target ride height. I was going for max travel. Place the tire centered in the wheel well where it clears at full articulated compression, and that's your location. Check that the panhard has clearance, and you're good.
