That +/- inches method is genius and so much easier than what I've been doing (selecting the nodes above and below, breaking the curve, and dragging the lower half down). I can't wait to try it your way!

I like the digital method I don't know why but I see it as more precise but in reality they look just as good. Thanks a lot.

Thank you so much, this was a lifesaver. I like fast solutions, so on the fly method was perfect for what I need.

I can’t tell you how happy I am you made this video. I’m finally going to be able to do my adjustments with my projector, and I was finally able to change a pattern to inches. Yay All my people are different heights. 😊❤ Thank you so much this is a tremendous help. (I use Affinity on IPad)

I like the digital. I can then save my pattern and not have to duplicate my work for future makes. Thank you

Thank you. I work with inkscape. I am very interested in how to rotate and move darts in the patterns i inkscape programmet. Sometimes there is to much fabric at the armhole, if you have a method you want to showto do it. I hope you understand what I mean. Thank you very much

Hello, I’m so happy to see your videos for Affinity Designer Ipad version. Also, excited to try to shorten and lengthen but I’m having a problem I’m hoping someone will know. I’ve followed your leads highlighted etc etc went to Transform Studios number is there but unfortunately it is in pt and I need inches I have tried everything and I cannot get this to change to inches. I see it’s in the choices and I click it but it won’t stay even when pieces are highlighted. Do you know how to do this possibly, hopefully? Maybe if you know how you could do a video on that. I’ll try to check back here to see if anyone has help. Thank you so much for the taking the time to do these videos. I hope this wasn’t too long.

Thanks for your comment! You need to change your document units of measurement. If you have rulers enabled on your screen, you can right click in the corner where it has “pt” and choose inches. This can also be changed in the document properties menu. I think I show this in one of my very first videos “Affinity Designer for sewing 101”.
If you are on the iPad, and don’t see the rulers yet, there are a few extra steps, so let me know!

@@projectorsewing Thank you so much for your reply. I have not enabled the ruler. I’ll rewatch that video tonight. I saw a couple of places to change it but it would not stay. I’m really excited to do digital adjustments so I can just project and cut. 😀Thanks again

What are your thoughts about moving a bust dart down? Love Notions Full Bust piece bust point is at least 1" too high for my figure. Really appreciate all the wonderful info you share.
(Right now looking specifically at Cadence top.)

My thoughts are this would be easiest to do by tracing the pattern and fitting it on you. 😝 Then you can transfer those markings into Inkscape or Affinity designer for a digital file to use over and over again.
But, since you know the bust point is typically 1” too high for you, you could lengthen the bust area by 1 inch using one of the methods above and test the fit.
Or follow this tutorial, but using Inkscape or Affinity Designer (if you are comfortable with the digital programs!)curvysewingcollective.com/tutorial-lowering-or-raising-a-bust-dart/
One of the best options for fitting I’ve found is creating a knit and woven bodice block to your measurements and your fit.
Then, it’d be easy to make those adjustments as needed digitally using the bodice blocks for guidance.
      There are definitely options!

@@projectorsewingThank you! After more research I think an edit on Inkscape is my best option. I can check measurements on a projector screen cast and tweak as needed. I want a digital method since I'm trying to retire paper. Speaking as a retired programmer.
Thanks for the quick and comprehensive reply. Have a great day.
My UST should be here tomorrow!
