I watched every minute of the bucs this season and was just in awe at some of the stuff baker was able to do. I really hope Baker stays with the bucs, if he can gel with this team another year and maybe have an OC stick around more than a season he can be a top 5 player getting MVP votes.
He's not that type of player. He played well enough cause it was a contract year. Whenever he gets attention or praise he struggles. This year did the game day picks for Oklahoma vs Texas during the bye week. The next four games after losses with his highest qbr at 64. I wouldn't take the cheese on him unless it's team friendly.
@@noneofyourbusiness-wo3bdyou didn't watch the games. In those games Canales tried to force feed the running game. They tried to run on first and second down and put the offense in 3rd and long on practically every offensive drive. They didn't try to get Baker in a throwing rhythm by throwing early and often like they did against Green Bay.
@@someperson8151 Ok it's the offensive coordinator fault. It's not that he's basically this generations slightly more mobile Jeff George. Number one pick that will hang around have an alright career but will not win anything.
Excellent video. Impressive plays by Baker & great breakdown explaining them. Glad that Baker had a great year. Hope he reaches a deal with the Bucs where they can keep & add even talent around him.

@@joemom1012 It sounds like the Bucs are around $30M. That’s nothing to sneeze at. He’s playing for $4M plus incentives because he was in a bad situation with the Panthers from which he partially recovered with the Rams. If he plays well he can keep building on that the way QB contracts keep increasing. If Baker turns down $30M & ends up getting $40M but in an offense that doesn’t fit him like the Bucs, then he could end up back in the $5M range & it might take longer to get out. IMHO his best home for success is the Bucs & more money will come with time. Plenty of veteran QBs have trouble doing really well with more than one team. He’s made $55M in his career. 5 more seasons at $30M will put him at over $200M.
Maybe TB should pay him. You can't put a man on a "prove it" deal and then after shattering expectations offer "home discount" contracts. The prove-it deal was the home discount contract. Pay that man
there big spend was Evans 53 000 big mistake was tagging a safety when 28th pick first round for safety is like top 3 picks for qb teams talking to bakers agent already have loads of cap to burn when baker go's to auction looking at 50,000 easy out of Tampa s budget
Most people must've forgotten about his breakout year in Cleveland and the next year he collapsed so I'd be cautious giving him a big deal unless he has another consecutive great year or even better
@@MST2312they did have a lot of injuries the next, on the line, running backs, and o line. Tampa had $90 million in dead cap. If they played Trask, Mike Evans wouldn't have re-signed. Saved Todd Bowles, the coaching staff, and Licht's job. Winning 3 to 5 games would have caused the front office to clean house. Some people might have liked that idea of cleaning house.
Not even close. I knew mayfield was going to be a buccaneer right after his first win with the rams. I could see in that short stint that he wasn’t done. Mayfield did what was expected of him. Shattering expectations would’ve been winning the Super Bowl or at least battling in the NFC championship.
I'm a Bucs fan and I can take him or leave him to be honest. I would not break the bank for Baker. If he wants to walk let him walk and he will struggle wherever he goes because he's not going to just be successful in any situation. So if the Bucs bite a bullet next year and have to draft I don't care. If we can get Kirk cousins or somebody else to plug and play it will be just as good because Baker is not Tom Brady. Yes he had a great year and yes he may have a great year next year, but he is not elite so it's not worth breaking the bank for moderate short-term success.
Let his ass go he ain't all that get a quarterback in the draft we'll be fine see how good he played with another team that don't have as much talent at the BUCS damn Baker 😂👍🏾
In the 18 years between the two Super Bowls the Bucs made the playoffs two times in 18 years. Is that what you want? There's only a handful of Bucs QB who led them to a playoff victory. Was it smart for them to trade Steve Young to the 49ers? That's the mistake the Bucs will be making by letting Baker walk.
If he stays in TB (And I believe he will) the circumstances around him should ALL be improved next season. I can't WAIT to see what he does.

I'm not sure how well Canales will fare without Baker. Baker made a lot of chicken salad last year.

Why does everyone keep acting like the buccaneers were some damsel in distress and baker came in like Superman to save the day😂

He needs to do it for consecutive seasons. Thats the problem! I love Baker as a lifelong Browns fan, but inconsistency is his issue
Baker didn't "shatter MY expectations". He almost met them.

Is there a market for Baker outside of TB? He better stop over valuing himself before he finds himself outside looking in.
He made 4 million this past season. What amount would you consider Baker over valuing himself?
