I feel so sorry for the poor, at the same time it makes me mad. Reason being that all our wetlands, low lying water catchment areas and municipal structures like drain systems are being built on by loads of new immigrants and locals from places like EC. Because people obviously want to come to WC due to the fact that our province provides jobs and more security than the rest of RSA. Unfortunately this means flooding. Go into the townships etc and there is rubbish EVERYWHERE, also leading to blocked drains on top of nowhere for the water to go as floodplains are now townships. Then everyone just expects the COCT and our taxpayers to bear the burden. How much blame can you put on COCT when we are overwhelmed???? Then they all want free housing and benefits. What about the real capetonians that are still waiting for help, they just get pushed aside by the new arrivals!!! Stop building on floodplains, stop building on wetlands, STOP LITTERING!!!! Then we might stand a chance. Bear in mind that the ANC government CUT WC budget by R500 BILLION 😮 How are we supposed to cope? Meanwhile the millionaires are leaving South Africa in droves meaning LESS tax money for the country. GNU better work otherwise we are ALL stuffed
