Avatar is still partially an underground band,where if your not "in the scene" you've probably never even heard of them.
He's so extra and I love him. He gives everything to his performance and still kicks ass on the vocals. No mic cupping so all that growling is legit. God I love him.

Then in Black Waltz, Johannes's voice really improved, and it remained the same for their next 2 albums, Hail the Apocalypse and Feathers and Flesh. Their new album, Avatar Country, changed completely. And each song is even different. But I don't think it's improving, but changing who he is and how he performs

I don't get into a whole lot of modern music. But god damn I love these guys. Awesome live vocals, where a lot of metal singers fail. And some of the rhythm reminds me of Faith No More back in the 80s and 90s. This band is tight as fuck.
