    thanks for vid, just been browsing and found this vid first, watched other more recent ones too but thought i'd comment here. just wanna say i agree prize figures are great, especially for price.
    i'd like to eventually get scale but dang, those are crazy! plus the real ones mostly best to get from sites that has like 10$+ shipping lol.. no ty. ill stick to prize haha.. but yeah, keep doing vids. appreciate your accent and info too. haha. (plus i havent seen many men doing figure reviews on youtube.. been subbing and watching a lot and noticing anime mostly females, idk why. i love/prefer anime a lot more than american "cartoons")

      Hi thanks for watching, and yeah have to be careful with them ones who do the cheap local postage would much rather pay more for insured post if i manage to get a scale model.
      I think alot of the men anitubers do reviews of anime or japanase related bits more, but i do love my prize figures so videos will still be coming :)

      @@TwistedGeek yeah i'm seeing a lot of ppl ordering from mostly amiami, i order from amazon since i have prime for free shipping and i'm in u.s. but idk.
      awesome to hear you will, love to see more.

      As much as amiami is amazing postage is a pain as it is very expensive and then you get hit by import fees, though their pre one selection does compensate for that :)

    Ya the way I see it is if you see a figure you want/like and it happens to be a prize figure just get it. The online community can be so toxic towards people that don't want to shell out 100plus on one shelf piece. There are plenty of company's that make quality prize figures. Obviously the more expensive ones will have more detail and be a better quality but I have yet to buy a prize figure that was trash. That being said I do have more exspensive figures too. I'm just saying don't let anyone gate keep you from buying cheaper priced figures.

      Agreed, prize figures have always been my go to, price to quality it's the best on a budget

      Yeah it's mind boggling ppl in the anime figure community getting so elitist in a hobby that is already expensive by nature imo

      If I lived in Japan and had a good job, this would be more of a possibility as it is of course shipping and taxes that sky rocket alot of these, but even in Japan where prize figures are cheaper some scales are still insanely expensive...soni will definitely just stick to prize figures

    Some of my anime figures and gunpla are on a glass case, so those I only need to take off dust once a month. It's a time saver.

    • @TwistedGeek
      @TwistedGeek  Год назад +1

      Behind a fully sealed case if able is definitely the way to go to reduce down dust, I have some behind glass but the glass doesn't fully seal, but still helps others I just have to dust when I can, normally a shelf or a section at a time, over the course of a couple of days

    You actually can get a good quality scale figue for $150. Most of the 1/7 I have were around $150 mark.

    • @TwistedGeek
      @TwistedGeek  3 года назад +1

      Yeah there is slightly cheaper ones you can get as you say but to me that is still 5 prize figures, dont get me wrong scales are awesome and would love to get some, for me this is just the more cost effective and easier method to get hold of a figure on budget :)

    Prize figures are largely hit and miss for me. I used to collect them often but now I kinda phased them out other than exceptional looking ones.
    Personally I'd rather have one or two high end scale figures instead as there's a huge difference in quality and detail. Or Nendoroids are only £10 more (than the current price) if you import.
    Prize figures used to be anywhere from 800 - 1500 yen at one point too. (and still are if you shop on mandarake and are buying a few) I don't like that they're starting at £30 over here.
    I do feel they are great for starters to collecting and for characters that you can't justify scales for. But I've kinda just stopped with them now.

      Would love to move to scale figures only as they are amazing but that would mean maybe 1 ever 3 months for me, and some of the prize figures if you get the right ones are amazing.
      The exchrinicles sao ones are amazing.
      My issue with mandrake and amiami is the postage can be expensive but even if get a good price on it. Import charges just put me off.
      So essentially at moment it's a budget thing, otherwise I would go scales and then reduce down my prize figures.
      The raphtalia shield hero scale is sooo good though wouldnlove to get it haha 😄

      @@TwistedGeek I always combine shipping with other things that month to drop the price. But doesn't help if you only get one. Import costs aren't so bad for the UK anymore as we no longer get charged customs from Japan.
