Fast Bowling in UAE - International Cricketer, Chemar Holder's First Bowling Session.

We just relocated the Chemar Holder training camp from the U.K to the UAE.
It’s a different country with a different climate but our mission remains the same. And we’re incredibly proud and grateful to be operating out of the prestigious Malek Stadium - a world class floodlit ground in the UAE which provides SpeedCamp with everything it needs to get our training done.
Chemar has never played or bowled in the UAE before. Upon arrival, he was immediately hit by the extreme heat and humidity.
His first reaction was, “this is going to be the hardest training camp of my life”.
On top of this, the conditions are not the same. The grass is grown on a sand base which has a subtle (but obvious) effect on the way you run.
Because of the heat, you have limited windows of opportunity for training.
Because of the humidity, you have to combat moist grass, moist cricket balls and excessive sweat. It’s like being in a sauna 24/7.
In this episode, you can watch Chemar go through his first bowling session in the UAE. He was far from his best (in terms of rhythm) but we expected that. The most important thing is that he quickly understood the conditions and adapted accordingly.
Another session banked. Another step forward.

What is the aim of Chemar's training camps? Is he coming back from injury?

Yep. He sustained a serious shoulder injury a few years back which he had been struggling with to the point that required him to have surgery in April this year. The purpose of the training camp is to rehabilitate him and help him return to competitive bowling.
