Instead of it being a trailer park ,you'd have a bus park. I like the idea of landscaping it. I'd stay there. Nice job.
Happy to see you getting your kids involved,,, maybe they will grow up and love the outdoors like you,, good video,,
Camping under the Stars,is a great adventure, made from scratch 😀
110 is insanely hot! That camper bus is a neat idea and looks fun!
If you have a plenty of those platforms, do a cimi circle from the front to the back of the bus and bridge the space in between then around the perimeter of your camp.
With railing.
Cute kids. Little boy driving the bus. He looked happy.
You have a beautiful family, Silas. Another fun video 😎👍
Maybe a small vegetable garden behind the bus use scrap to build a fence. Then those days when you can't get to lunch you could cook it in the bus.
What great looking kids ! Your son looks just like you. Keep up the good work.
Fun is what you make it! You made due with what you had in the scrap yard which worked out. Interesting video!
Lookin forward to-
"Junkyard Cabin 4.0."
(In the snow!)
😉👍
Hopefully I’ll get more done before then 😆 Thanks!
Love the inginuity great job Silas
The possibilities are endless. You have enough tires, you could build part of your perimeter out of them. Really looks like a lot of fun to be had. Stay safe. Peace
Terrific video , your children seem to love the bus , your son at he wheel was a one in a million moment . Till the next time , enjoy your adventures , try to keep cool , Stuart in Ontario ..
These cooling units have adjustable legs and the hand rails that were under the units are for the top along with the stairs you have in other places around your site so you can gain access to the top and have a railing to it is safer to be up there.
This channel is a great change of pace from the hustle & bustle of the main channel silas .
i have one word...............................awsome.
The junkyard campground is totally awesome
I really love the way the moon shines out there that's a nice camping spot buddy good luck finishing it off
what a cute lil dude ....LOL hes driving to the moon daddy ...LOL ur kids r lucky ur a good dude !!!
Looks like fun to me. You are living my dream. Have always wanted to have a junk yard like yours. If I lived closer, would come out and help you all the time for free. Only because it would be fun.
Being a junk yard cabin...I think at least part of the perimeter fence should be cool looking old cars that you are saving. Maybe some of your favorites....
If you get up high enough you could get away from the mosquitos, I read that they stay close to the ground and do not get up to a second story window of houses.
Awesome ending to your video the point you said about spending $ I think finishes of your video perfectly.
Keep up the good work
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks
Silas,
You’re on your way from junk/scrap dealer to a very professional video producer!
You’ve re-invented yourself into a new profession.
Love your work.
Peace my friend,
DrRick
Nice looking Galazie in background
Glad to see dont have to cook in a hubcap and eat with scrap metal like the earlier video! Have fun!
That looks like it was a fun project, Thumbs up, thanks for bringing us along with the adventure
Great video.
Sounds like you have some good ideas coming up.
That star you saw was most likely a planet.
I love the introduction and I've been wondering about the bus
Very KOOL Silas Great video
I totally enjoyed this one sir. I love that you've begun using music in your vids.
Scrap Yard Cook Out - hey - nice Fish and Peppers - Yum-Yum and that "Patio" is looking Good - Clever Idea ! Needs some kind of a Railing for Safety - what do You think ! Love Your Kids - they always have Fun at Your Yard - sooooo much to do and see - a Paradise for Kids - just have to watch them a little bid ! You got some very Good Ideas for Your School Bus Area - it will look Smashing for sure ! Have a Good Night sleeping under the Stars ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Silas, bicycles as a fence around your cabin!!!!
You do a great job on these videos I just love them two things I a like (junkyards and classic cars )
You should set up a night vision camera to see what critters are out.
I have one, I’ll be working on that once it cools down again!
Thanks for sharing Looking like a great adventure
Very nice! Maybe consider using thrasher wheels for a fence? As for those bugs, stoke the fire and use some vegetation for smoke. Great 'adventure, made from scratch'
If you turn around right cooling stack you will have and opening between the two on your patio
I would sleep like the dead out there. Great video.
Eventually the little people will join you❤
Silas=great guy love your videos buddy!!!
So fun!!!
Your son sitting behind the steering wheel of that bus looks like he’s in his glory
Good on ya!
Too much-needed fun very cool cheers silas 😊
Hey Silas, if things ever turn to shite for me here in Australia and I have no commitments, I could move to the USA and work with you helping out in the yard and be on-site security 😁
* Sorry Silas I keep forgetting your 2nd channel. Fun idea for a vid. I'll bet your the only person on YT who has a Camping/Gourmet Cooking in a Boneyard Vid . I'm with your wife, Landscape Around The Campsite ! You be careful. If any of your junkers where involved in a fatal crash you may have to deal with Spirits In The Night ! 🎶🎵 . 👊😎👍
You should put a window van on top of the bus to camp in!
cool fort! remembering my days as a kid!
Put vise grips on the top nut and unbolt it from the bottom
I loved the video Silas!!!❤ I would love to see another!!!
Junkyard cabin ,you may have a new trend camping in a junkyard, the hotrod power tour might try it
YOU NEED A BUSH HOGG!
Great Video! Would absolutly love to see some more adventures in the junkyard cabin.
You will also be able to catch theives tryn to work at nite😊👍 good thinkn....
thanks for video
cool
Silas is just a big kid building a fort in his yard.....
Weld steel wheels together for your fence.
Maybe you could make a fence with wheels stacked on the sides
Awesome video. That looked like a very peaceful and relaxing night. The night sky shoots very beautiful. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Awesome video I bet with that new cutting tool you bought Them seat's woud come off Right at floor level then you coud spray some foam in the holes so mice and cold or hot air didn't come in ..
I love this program a lot keep up the great job cheers
Lived in bus for 12 yrs.! 👍
Thanks for taking us along. It would be awsome laying out on your platform after dark, listening to an approaching thunderstorm! Knowing you're just a few feet away from the safety of the bus.
I can't tell you how much I'd like to help renovate that bus, and I'd make some kind of crow's nest up in the large tree that's behind it.
I thought the bright orb in the beginning of the video was the sun. I guess it was actually the moon.
Thanks for the great content.
Id pull the fans off replace with some fans off an old car.. hook to a live well pump in to the cabin to a small car radiator with a cooling can an fill it with old coolant and make a swap cooler
As a kid I got to walk on board a railroad caboose at a transport museum in St. Louis, Missouri and ever since I've always wanted one to live in or at least have as a man cave. It had a pot bellied stove, two bunk beds, two seats in the cupola, and a built-in table and desk area. If ever you get a caboose I'll be first in line to buy it.😊😄 😁😄
The house I grew up in was made out of a train car that they added to over time with used lumber
I've wanted to live in an old caboose also. I first got the idea when I walked through one that's parked as a permanant exhibit at the Allegan fair grounds in Michigan.
Every time I see a caboose, I have to stop and check it out. Lots of them in northeast Georgia, where I lived for two years. All the old wooden ones have pot bellied stoves. I imagine the newer steel bodied ones would be hot in the summer time.
Another great video! What are you doing with the concrete pad left from tearing down part of the shop?
Nothing yet. Haven’t touched it since we tore it down.
Beautiful family Silas. A very cool fort for kids big and small. 😊
Well I would take the other bus, and set it next to the bus you are camping in. You could make bedroom and bathroom in the other bus. Just a thought.
Awesome video
you've got a bunch of school bus seats.. put several outside to sit on and one on top of your Deck.. thanks for sharing your adventure with us..
Just having fun is great! Wish I had the time and space to have fun like that.
You have another bus I just saw. Back that thing in the dead spot behind it and and connect them to make a double wide
Well, this is neat.
Silas has a magic School bus!
Anybody else remember watching that show with their kids? The magic School bus show..
A creative man that still knows how to have fun.
Watch out for the junk yard wolf during a full moon
Thanks again, Silas! We sure do love hanging out with you!
Been watching since day one
I work on Siemens wind turbines and those are the exact same cooling fan assemblies that we use on the outside platform/entry stairs to the turbines. Those pieces used under the footers are also turbine parts used to lockout a blade during service. They slip over three of the blade bolts and lock in place. Kewl video!
Here’s my fish story. Years ago I was going fishing with some friends. Someone said, let’s go the lake. No luck, let’s go to the river, no luck. Let’s go to a different lake, no luck. We went everywhere we could think of. Finally we gave up. On the way home we passed by some piles of dirt that were from holes that were dug years earlier. Supposedly the holes were dug for basements of a row of houses that someone was going to build but never did. As we passed by, just for a second I thought I saw water behind the piles of dirt. I said hey there’s water back there, let’s go check it out. So we drove back there and sure enough there was what looked like a small lake, or swimming hole. One of the guys started getting his rod&real out of the trunk. I said, what are you doing, there’s no fish in there. That’s just a hole in the ground. He cast his line out and he got a bite right away. We couldn’t believe it. We all started fishing and soon we had a bucket full of bluegills. Then we went home. On the way we were discussing what we should do with the fish. When we got home, my mother was sitting at the kitchen table looking depressed. I said, what’s wrong? She said, dad is going to be home soon and I haven’t got anything for him to eat. We didn’t have to say anything. We all knew what to do. Someone got the fish out of the car. We gathered around the kitchen sink and started getting the fish ready to cook. We gave the prepared fish to mother and she started frying it in our 100 year old cast iron skillet. Just when it was done, dad walked in and said what he always says when he gets home from a long day at work. He said, what’s for supper. Mom put a plate full of hot freshly fried fish on the table. Dad started to eat, we all looked at each other and smiled. He said, this is delicious. I think it was a miracle. We didn’t feed 5000, like it says in the Bible, John 6:1-14. But we fed one dad and he was full and happy. We all ate the leftovers and my friends went to their homes. Matthew 6:25-34
Bluegill is good! They just don’t get very big around here unfortunately
Heart warming story. Makes me think of the hymn: Great Is Thy Faithfulness
@@moreadventuresmadefromscratchwhy not install one or two rotating restaurant ceiling vent fans to let out the heat? 🥵🥵🥵🥵 *We R ready for a junkyard treasure hunt any ole time🕥🕠🕔🕡🕐🕒
@@moreadventuresmadefromscratchif you have a top-loading freezer at home with extra space. You could freeze Big blocks of ice🧊🧊🧊🧊 and make your own "swamp cooler" inside the bus. *I never made one but it's possible that you don't need ice, just water.
@@moreadventuresmadefromscratchHey, this was one F-U-N🎥 video! 🎬Your grass area is a semi-circle, why not make a border of old tires, leaving gaps and paint 'em a tropical color like found in Costa Rica and fill the middle of each tire with dirt and tall growing bulb flowers and a couple with corn. 🌽🎃🍉🌽🎃🍉🌽🎃🍉🌽 Your wife would be shocked. *You have enough space to grow pumpkins and mini-watermelons. You could sell them out front next summer, collecting $$ with the honor system. 🎃🍉🎃🍉🎃🍉🎃🍉
It was good to see you school bus camping again. I knew you've been super busy and haven't had time to work on it. Maybe later you and one of the guys can finish getting the seats out. You'll get it like you want in time. Enjoyed your adventure, stay cool, stay safe and GOD bless
Awesome video great ideas loved it
I would put some railings on top of the bus and make that a safe platform to walk on
You could fence that with your other busses, make a little bus village, have fun
Bushcraft on the ranch right on man.
Needs railings. 101 in Iowa today. Probably hot there today too.
Add a second bus and make a double wide cabin
Thanks so much for your adventure loved seeing the kids interacting with dad .. and now subscribed to this channel keep em coming
Your kids will enjoy sleeping in the bus or outside. I like your plans for a perimeter raised walkway. It COULD be hazardous, though, if youngsters fall off. NICE VIDEO.
I grew up hopping across the tops of piles of iron and cars. I’ve got the scars to prove it. Wouldn’t trade it for anything
Cool intro
You could make a fence out off old pick up beds or if a bunch of scrap chain link comes in you could make fence out that and still be junk yard material..
Your thought process is great listening to your ideas for the bus area I was thinking yeah that would work lol ,look forward to seeing more video footage of this Silas
Here is a idea for behind the bus put a Porta potty back there
Very nice! Definitely a adventure. Loved the night sky with the moon and clouds!
Nothing better than a pile of crappie fillets!
Silas my great aunt used to swear by rubber tires, she had so many uses that you better not even pretend you was gonna take an old tire out of her pile of what everyone else called junky breeding grounds for skeeters lol. She never let water pool up in even the "havent decided what im gonna do with em yet" pile. She accomplished this by keeping holes drilled in them and so they never became breeding grounds for yuckys. Anyways when you spoke about your perimeter wall idea it made me think of her as she would cut a tire in half and then put semi circle tires in rows by digging a trench the width of the tire and only deep enough for a few inches to go down into the ground. She would then fill the trench with concrete mix around the points where the tires touched the ground and filled the rest of the trench with dirt, covering the concrete with the dirt as well. If she wanted a more ornate style barrier she'd put a flower pot, also made out of a tire (these are so cute in my opinion) in between every tire arch or every 2. She would also make staggered stepping stones by burying tires lying on their sides halfway into the ground and filling them with concrete. Then if it was me i would take a sledge hammer to the broken granite, marble, etc and use the crushed pieces in the concrete for ornate purposes and the rest around the outside of the steps on the ground, also for ornate purposes. Speaking of ornate my great aunt would paint all the tires white. This wouldn't have been too bad, but she also
had to paint the rocks white, even the white ones 😂 Im not talking about gravel sized rocks, just larger sized rocks that was everywhere on her property although my grandma, her sister, swore up and down if she could figure out a way to paint the gravel ahe would😂 Needless to say my grandma despised my great aunts rock painting lol. Anyways, i found a video that has most of the things i talked about in it, maybe itll help!❤
