The guest bathroom has so many DIYs so I thought this one deserved its own video. I designed and built this sink cabinet for under 150€ and can't believe how good it turned out! It's rental-friendly as well ;)
The material cost breakdown:
Square dowels - 13.17€
Poplar plywood - 78.09€
Decorative trim - 22.81€
Drawer slides - 12.50€
Wood stain - 3€ (I used 1/3 of a 8.72€ can)
Particle board - 11.64€
Plaster - 1€ (I used less than half of a 2.50€ pack)
Fibreglass tape - 5.79€

20:59 honestly this hits me so hard.
I experienced something similar: after my graduation I came into a huge creative burnout/block that lasted almost over a half year bc school was a very stressful, tearful and challenging chapter. I was so exhausted that I couldn't even really paint or draw something so I decided to have a break for one year then to go to university. First I did felt some guilt bc everyone else went studiying or doing something abroad but as months passed and I could finally breath, I looked for design studies and universities that fit to me.
Today is application day and for that I have to prepare a file with design and artworks, when I sat the last weeks to work on them I felt so happy and energised to be able to create something again and the guilt finally faded away. I am very relieved though I have a lot of things to do xD but thank you ❤️
Seeing someone who opened up about struggling as well let me know i am not alone and it's okay to take a break. It's okay to be in a slump for a short while in order to find yourself again later ^^
you are so courageous for choosing yourself and filling yourself first to relieve that stress and anxiety. i hope the break has rejuvenated you and that you'll be able to unapologetically be you in your next endeavor- all the best

I was talking to Pat today about how I realised that time is such an abstract thing. It's literally based on how long it takes the Earth to go around the sun. We're "supposed" to achieve new things with every passing year, like moving grade 1 to grade 2 when we're kids. But who's to say it takes "1 year" to learn the given syllabus? I felt sad just thinking about how mentally fatigued the kids who stayed back a year must have been. Basically what I'm trying to say is everyone needs different amounts of time to learn and grow, so if you need to take more time, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. 🙂
I'm really happy you decided to take time off for YOU. Even when you're in University remember it's ok to take a breather whenever you need to, too! Keep going ❤️

I'm starting on my first piece and I was very existed but now I have cold feet specially that I bought a slightly expensive hardwood and I'm really scared of ruining it, your answer for "How do you overcome the fear of failing a DIY?" was perfectly timed

These days sofa cum storage bed is so efficient when one doesn’t have many rooms for guests who come over. Would love to see your creative process how one can convert their existing double bed as sofa cum storage bed. This is such a charming piece. I love that you can order plywood cut to specifications there. I think many of us have been struggling creatively over the last little bit. Spring usually brings tons of inspiration but this year it just kind of brought rest and a pause.
