I think a bit too much deference is given to statistics in your arguments. Some teams you say they're being buoyed by two good players and the next team you say bad players drag down the stats. I think we need to accept that the sample sizes are too small and that this game is balanced well enough that tier lists are going to be impossible to get just right. I enjoyed hearing everyone's points for where and why a team landed where they did.
I disagree that the sample sizes are two small on most of the teams. Some teams, I 1000% agree and I think any statistical relevance goes out the window. I think its also important to figure out what that relevant number is and how to read data. We also have to remember that GW will always look at data so its always best to stay informed and try to make the best arguments for what we think.
I love that you commented and that you have a great take and a valid opinion. I also love the fact that we can have an open discussion about what should and shouldn't be relevant!

to echo others, i think you prioritise tournament data without enough context, there's teams that are incredibly popular amongst beginners, like intercession and legionary.
Are legionary "perfect", hell no, good luck on loot against horde! but I have gone X - 1 at every tournament i've entered in the last couple of years, and took home a GT with them. And at those same tournaments i've seen legionary players make the most amateur mistakes, whereas someone playing a "meta" team is much more likely to have players with a much greater basic understanding and fewer obvious mistakes.
I prioritize Tournament data due not only to our other content but also because we run the between 8 and 11 Kill Team tournaments per year. Including the largest KT tournament of them all The Las Vegas Open. So we as creators value Tournament results across the globe alot. We also mimic what GW looks at when they balance and nerf teams which is win rate and other factors.
I agree in the right hands legionary are still a good team, and that the meta players may be more of the competitive type players playing the best teams at that time. Love your take and look forward to more convos in the future

@@JimmyK53 my name's right there 😂 a lot of it came down to matchups though, the 2nd best player was playing harlequins, who just have an awful matchup into legionary, and I ended up playing him twice as we had to play for the final.
My one loss was against vet guard, who are just horrible to play into with any elite team. My other wins were wyrmblade, exaction (pre buffs), navy breachers, hunter clade; wyrmblade was the only winning match where I didn't feel like I just statchecked my opponent

Very informative video. I think it was interesting hearing the opinions of people who are so well experienced with kill team. I want to know what is exactly the way scouts are supposed to be played or where to get that information. It was brought up multiple times in the video that the way most people play them is wrong and that when played a certain way, they're actually good.

Been here little over an hour and the first team that gets put up goes into bad and it is a team that I 100% know are better than Intercession. Justian over Intercession any day of the week.
Statistically they are the worst performing data slate since their release and they have never won an event that has the metrics of 16 players or more and 4 rounds. I will say the sample size is way smaller for justian so they get an unfair shake for sure. I know when I play justian I am always wishing for Chapter tactics myself. I think the team would be really good with just a little boost.
They also have no equipment
There is debate between which of these teams is better I think both are better than the stats show but there are so many teams better than both it is reasonable to put Justian into “bad”
