Cella was the OG shave soap for me when I first started wet shaving. I had no idea what scent I would like but Almond scent peaked my interest. The original scent smells beautiful. Great product!
I'm not sure whether the new large tubs like the one you used are the same cream as the smaller plastic red tub, but the regular red line has a fantastic performance for the price, really slick, protective and great post shave feel. It also has a very pleasant marzipan / almond scent. I really enjoy it.
Thanks for the spotlight, Matt. I'll have to give Cella a try. I tried your cold water shave today and the result was excellent! Thanks for that tip. ATB always.
i like both the red and the green line i think i own every product even a product discontinued beard wash described as dry shampoo/conditioner smells like cinnamon Ish
Cool spotlight Matt. I love the cella red but yet to try the cella blue green. I understand that the red is tallow based, is the green vegan? Also, if you keep a lineup of Zingari, please make a shave review of Zingari traditionalist vegan sandalwood soap. Thanks
@razoremporium You didn't use Cella (red original) in your last shave. What you used was the new line "Professional". They are not really economical, a bit different recepy and I think they were really meant for professional use. That's the reason why the leather wasn't that "fluffy", probably. I just discovered Cella for myself and always get a voluminous and slick lather with little to no effort. Gut myself the kilo block! 😅 The green bio variant for me is even slicker, will use it more in the warmer months. 👍🏻
Good overview. I've never used Cella. I'm a Proraso guy. How different are these two brands, in performance, fragrance, post-shave feel? Do we need a comparison video? "The Italian Job"! I also use Sapnificio Varesino, but that's in a different league.
I have the red Cella in the plastic tub. I'm not crazy about the cherry part of the scent, but I found it to fade quickly. I've used it several times. However, my wife decided she can not handle the almond scent. It"s a shame because I like in my rotation. Can anyone give me a good scent profile of the green Cella (vegan).
I was always disappointed that the original aftershave scent was totally different than the soap, and one I didn't really like. An aftershave that is a better match is Captain's Choice "Italia", although I don't much care for their "Italia" shave cream. What about the big kilo brick soap?
The red aftershave is a clone of Acqua di Parma's Colonia. I am not crazy about it either. It is "OK" lemon scent but nothing more Does anybody know what the green aftershave smells like?
My only negative criticism about CELLA Products is the use of Plastic Tubes instead of Metal Tubes for their Shaving Cream and Plastic Tubes instead of Glass Bottles for their Aftershave Balm.
@@RazorEmporium I was talking about the Shaving Cream and the Aftershave Balm. I've never had a problem with rust. Rust only happens when someone leaves a metal tube wet or keeps it in a damp place for a long time. I was just comparing PRORASO's Metal Tube and Glass Bottle to CELLA's Plastic Tube (which even uses the same for its Balm). Matt - I've enjoyed your instructional and informational yt vids but lately they're mostly commercials for products you sell. I get that, but how about going back to your older, more entertaining topics?
I can't tell you how much I hate that squeaky guitar music. Neverthelss, the non-tallow formula in the tin is radically different than the classic red tallow formula. It is formulated for barbershops. The classic red formula (small tub or brick) is a fantastic soap if you like the almond scent. The green vegetable based soap is a surprisingly good formula and has a nice scent. Either is good for face lathering with a boar bristle brush. The stuff in the tin is very different. It does not produce huge volumes of lather, and works best with a lather bowl and a badger or synthetic brush.
So I’ve just been getting interested in wet shaving over the last few weeks. Binge watching all of Matt’s videos. I just received a shaving set as a gift. It came with a badger brush. It wasn’t until now I’ve considered where that badger hair comes from. Turns out badgers are farmed and slaughtered in China, just so we can have some shaving brushes. I hope the wet shaving community can wake up to how bad this is and commit to not using badger hair anymore. We don’t need it. And we shouldn’t be buying anything at all from China anyway. Im genuinely sorry if you don’t want me saying this on your video, Matt, but I think it needs to be said.
It can be said but your statement isn't fully accurate. Badgers are raised in China for meat and fur. Just like we raise beef and pork in the USA. The hair is a byproduct just like leather is a byproduct of raising cattle for beef. I think it's actually better to fully utilize the animal rather than throw away it's fantastic hair.
@@RazorEmporium you’re absolutely right about using the whole animal, which is why there’s no problem with boar hair. Then questions become is it acceptable to farm badgers for meat? Is that really what’s happening? What kind of conditions are they raised in? And would they be doing it if we weren’t buying? Anyway, like I said, we shouldn’t be buying things from China. There’s good reasons people love made in USA Rex supply products.
I try to buy made in the USA products when I can. However, there are many times when it is not possible. It is my personal choice to buy American and support small businesses as much as I can. I don't force my opinions on others, though.
I love the red Cella shave soap and the splash. Great scent and great value.
The Cella Aloe has a beautiful sent and feels silky smooth on my sensitive skin. Its incredibly moisturizing.
I will use Cella Today, Good Morning!

Omg first! Cellaaaaa 😗👌🏻Bellissimo!
I have used Cella red and find the scent wonderful.
Cella red in the plastic bowl is one of my go-tos. I love it. I am going to have to give the turquois a try.
Cella is a very good shave soap I really like it.
I've used Cella for 15 years now and love it. Poraso (green) and Cella I switch back and forth. You can't go wrong with either of them.
Proraso doesn't rinse clean and leaves a white mess in your sink and on your gear.
Great video! Thank you for all the Cella insights!

Thks and cheers mate ❤
love the red Cella, got the kilo brick, should keep me going for the next decade or 2

Excellent 👌
Ottimi prodotti , in Italia facili da reperire nelle varie catene di supermercati e dal valore più alto rispetto ai vari saponi commerciali 😉👍🏻
Great spotlight Matt!
I dig the guitar music. Absolutely love Cella in the red tub.
Maybe he could switch to something with a classical guitar?
rjwrightrw30 Funny thing... Months ago I watched a video about a specific model of electric scooter and it had the exact same intro music.
Hey Matt , are you ever planning on going back and doing, ‘I’d Lather be shaving’?
I always looked forward to seeing it.
Hard when we live on opposite sides of the USA.

Both are vegan, IIRC there are no tallow based soaps anymore in Europe
Red is tallow-based, green is vegan

I know 🤦♂️ we got it in the day of shooting and I didn't realize what I had. Will do another video soon
Cow-A-Bunga Cella has a whole bunch of products.

Good idea! I would say they are comparable
I would say that they are very different. Cella lathers up more and rinses cleaner. The aromas are completely different. Also, no menthol in Cella.
I have the red Cella in the plastic tub. I'm not crazy about the cherry part of the scent, but I found it to fade quickly. I've used it several times. However, my wife decided she can not handle the almond scent. It"s a shame because I like in my rotation.

Don’t forget the kilo block. Nothing like having enough.
Ya we were out of stock when filming. Will do a video on it.
Just a heads up, Panthenol has nothing to do with Menthol is doesn’t have cooling qualities 🙂
Good to know thx

Metal can easily rust. Even aluminum can grow oxide on your soap.

As far as I know this nice, little guy is called "Gino". I mean the guy on the soap, not you... 😁
That's proraso man
Well at least it’s not Luigi😂
His name is "Felice" (fell-ee-chey)
ChatGPT claims that the person on the Cella packaging was never given a name.
This sounds like the stuff urban legends are centered around.
